  1. It was cooler today, so the outfit was a dark brown cotton sateen suit, tan cotton short sleeve top, nude hose, and my Ralph Lauren brown/tan, open toe, allegator slings with a 4" stacked heel. Jodi

  2. Thought I'd get on board with the outfit of the day. Today was church. Wore a long black straight skirt with a back slit, a black sleeveless knit top, a multi color striped shirt/jacket, black hose and 4" black leather slingbacks. Jodi

  3. Personally, I would not wear a thin stiletto heel to an interview. I go for the total look. With a sharp business suit, a slightly thicker heel of 3 to 3-1/2" would complement the outfit much better than a thin spike. Save the thin spike for wearing with the suit after hours. But again, this is just my personal feeling. I conduct many interviews for new hires, most of them being young women. With all else being equal on qualifications, the job will go to the one who has presented him/herself the best. To me that is an outfit that is properly coordinated and together. I am human, and I do notice these things, and they do affect my decision in hiring. If a woman comes into the interview, and it is obvious that her shoes are incorrect for the outfit or if her overall outfit doesn't fit the image of the company, she had better have the best qualifications if she wants to get the job. You may love your 5" stiletto heels, and you may feel great in them, but in an interview, you must always keep in mind that you are there to impress the interviewer, and not yourself. Jodi

  4. My favorite pair is a pair of black Enzo pumps made in Italy. They have a very nice shiny smooth leather finish, slighty pointed toe and a 3-3/4" blade heel. They are all leather and are so comfy. The style is such that they look great with any length of skirt, and look great with pants. I wear them a lot. I will definitely be saddened when they eventially wear out. Jodi

  5. It is both. I live in high heels. My maximum height though is 4". I am a believer in the complete look of the outfit. The shoes and bag will either make or break any outfit. A nicely proportioned high heel will enhance most all outfits. I just feel great when I know that my look is together. I might also mention that I am very selective on my heels when it comes to comfort, and purchase my heels with comfort in mind. A good, comfortable pair of heels can be worn daily and for extended periods without any problems. Jodi

  6. For me the normal height is 3-1/2 to 4". I very seldom go much higher. I like a variety of styles from the very thin spike for dressy to a thicker stacked heel for daily wear and casual. My favorite pair right now for work is a loafer style with a 4" stacked heel. I have them in both black and brown. They really set off a suit whether skirt or pants. Jodi

  7. I got my first pair of real heels when I was 14. We were to go to a family wedding and being dressy for the reception was the norm. I asked my mother if I would be allowed to wear heels with my new dress. She said that it was fine and allowed me to wear a pair of hers. My dress was a red/black one, so I chose a pair of black slings with a 3" thin heel. It felt so good and my mother allowed me to keep the shoes for me. I wish I still had them. Jodi
