  1. My guess is that a likely place to look for the shoes on Heikes Heels is La Piazza. They've got an enormous collection of heels and the customer can pretty much get a custom order. I've bought heels there before and the quality is pretty good; they are a bit pricey and look out, you find yourself getting a bill from the customs people which in the end makes the product pricey indeed. Great shoes tho..

  2. Seems like in recent years "high heels" are 1 to 1 1/2"...in the 1950's it was common to see 4-5" heels routinely...althought they measured them differently then. Back then they were 2 1/2" or 3" which translated into 4-5" today...occasionally one would see higher ones. Don't think the young girls today would know what to do with the high heels we talk about here , although, i'm sure some of them must wear them...It's been a long time since real high heels were part of a woman wardrobe..sure would like to see them come back...

  3. I had posted a couple of times a long time ago on another board (Jenny's) with a lady who was once a model for Irving Claw (Betty Page photographer) She mentioned there were some 16, or so, models who had done those pix in the 50's. Had tried to contact her...said she'd most likely be around from time to time...but in two years haven't seen her. If anyone knows of this or if she sees this, please contact me. I was an enormous fan of Claw's and would like to hear more about that experience in the 1950's...Thanx

  4. I'm new to this forum and have been reading some of the posts on 6" heels forever...never could contact them. But have gotten some spectacular heels for the past two years from Bad Influence...they have many styles and leathers, colors, etc..have gotten at least 9 pairs and they are great. 4" to 5.5" heels. They can do custom things too..and have had a few of these with great results...price is very reasonable. Have also gotten shoes from La Piazza and have to admit they are very nice, but a bit pricey and waiting time is long. Hope this info is helpful...
