  1. As someone who has attended one heel/boot meet (and will be attending another soon), I am thankful for the efforts put forward by those that do the organizing. The experiences and friendships developed by these events are something I am sure I would have missed without their efforts. Thank you always....and well done!!

  2. Having just recently had my first outing in heels I am far from an expert on the subject. I do agree, confidence is certainly the key. I had the advantage of being with a group of people (male and female) also wearing heels so it may have been easier for me. For me it was interesting how after some time you almost forget about it and just go on doing whatever activity you are doing. It seems that as long as you dont act out of place, others dont see you as out of place either. Hope you enjoy your outing as much as I did.

  3. Did you wear these over or under jeans? If over, and "no one paid any attention", then no offense, something strange is going on. I've read similar "no attention" in other posts, and it just doesn't seem right. If the comment was, "I got no complaints, snears, etc.", THAT I can believe.

    But if I saw anyone (m or f) wearing boots like this, no way I wouldn't be paying attention. I'd give at least a second glance (if not a look as long as they were in view). Boot/shoe lover on not, you see someone walking in knee / over the knee high leather boots, I'd find it hard to believe you aren't going to look.

    I wore them under dark jeans for my first outing. I too certainly take notice when I see kneehigh or higher boots on someone.

  4. Hi;

    Last Friday I had the opportunity to attend a public meeting with a group of wonderful people in Vancouver. This meeting was the very first time I wore heels out in public (other than a few short drives in my car).

    Like most people, I was extremely nervous prior to heading out to the meeting. Walking down the hall in my hotel and waiting for the elevator to open my heart was pounding. I was happy to see the elevator was empty....lol.

    A few people in the hotel lobby paid me no mind as I walked to the restaurant. In fact no one paid any attention all night long. It was fantastic!! Why have I not done this sooner?

    The entire night was fantastic as we went to a few clubs and had a wonderful time. This will definitely not be my last time out and about in heels. I highly recommend the Heel Meets as a great place to go out with heel loving people. Check the "Real Life Meetings" section for details.

    I have included a pic of the boots I wore.

  5. I have answered for lace ups. This is mostly because I have rather big legs and it is difficult to find boots (especially thigh highs) that fit. The laces allow a little more room. I hope to be able to get some custom made thigh boots at some point (without laces) so they will fit perfect.

  6. Here are 2 more of my recent purchase's from the Payless web site that I had shipped to my local store. My avatar was my third.

    I like the Fioni buckle boot. That is what I was looking for but they did not have them. Maybe I will have to go back and order them.

  7. Did you try them on in the store? If not, then no reason the sales girl couldn't have thought you were buying them for a girlfriend or spouse. Even if she did think they might be for you, there's not a lot of reports of getting negative feedback from sales people. Not sure if it's acceptance, or just the realization that a sale is a sale.

    Anyway, congratulations on your purchase. It's sort of a nice conquest knowing you can go out to a store and bring back your own pair of heels.

    Forgot to mention, nice pair of shoes. Coincidentally one of the first pair I bought in a store (Payless) had a similar style.

    No I did not try them on in the store but I am pretty sure she knew they were for me. I was lookiing at shoes in the equivalent mens size too.

    By the way..this was a Payless store too.

  8. I know they are not exactly "skyscraper" heels, but I made my first in person purchase in a shoe store yesterday. It was quite exciting to go into the store and start looking at the various heels, knowing that I was ready to make a purchase. The lady working in the shop was very nice and came over and asked if I needed any help. I told her no and she left me to look on my own. Once I found the ones I wanted I took them to the checkout and there was no comment of any kind. She rang up my purchase, took my payment and gave me a nice smile and wished me a good day. I could not be happier with the way it went. Definitely will not be the last time. Here is what I bought:
