  1. these are from schuh

I bought a pair of these from RocketDog.co.uk. Took them three attempts to send the correct size, but finally I got a pair of size 8UK. They are fairly close fitting but very comfortable and warm, and I think will give slightly with wear.

  2. Not pretty, not pretty at all! Might just be acceptable in the "Ultra High Heels and fetish things" forum, but even a bit tasteless for that section. I think this thread could do with deletion.

  3. "Divine" otherwise known as the "Kinky Boot Factory" offer a made to measure service. Details can be found here Made to Measure. I have not used this service but have bought ready made boiots from them in the past which I have been very pleased with. I visited their shop in Earls Barton where excellent friendly service was offered by Steve and Stan.

  4. New Charity Fundraiser

For this meet, I am setting up a site with a reputable charity donation processing center. Interested and financially capable members can make a donation from as small as one pound to as large as their wallets can handle. I will never touch the money personally and the accumulation of funds will be updated on a daily basis, tallying a new total for the World Heel Meet contribution to charity. When the date of the fundraising ends, the money will be sent directly to the charity on behalf of the World Heel Meet 2008. This will be an amazing way to contribute to the community as well as develop a positive awareness of our unique freestyling niche.

    Hi Kneehighs.

I think the idea of a charity fundraiser is excellent, but…

    • …do you have any charity in mind at the moment?
    • …how is the decision about what cause to support to be made?
    • …how high/low profile do we want this fundraiser to be?
    • …do you want suggestions of possible charities which we could support (I have an idea of one organisation which is almost next door to one of your main venues)?

Good luck with all of the planning - a brilliant start seems to have been made.

  5. ……are they easy to fit, do I have to take a size larger....

    FL

I bought my correct size ( UK 8 ) and they are only just big enough for me - if I'm honest I could probably do with the next size up. I'm quite skinny and the laces fully close when I do them up, so I'd say that they are quite roomy over the instep. I hope this helps.

I bought mine on eBay from http://stores.ebay.co.uk/EXOTICDANCEWEAR-COUK. Similar shoes by Pleaser can be bought from numerous sourced on line including http://www.alternative-footwear.co.uk/

  6. Thanks for your appreciative comments. I've liked oxfords for a very long time, but these are my first pair. I think my appreciation of them dates from the fashion for "granny" shoes in the late 1970's - loads of girls at school wore them then with 3 to 4" heels.

I thought you all might like to see a picture of the shoes on. For those of you that are interested the style is "Pleaser Domina 460".

  7. I've just bought my first pair of 6 inch heels off eBay:smile: They arrived in the post this morning, and I unpacked them and put them straight on. Best of all, I can stand in them and walk in them:clap:

Here's a picture of the shoes.

  8. A week ago I visited Divine Footware in Earl's Barton, spending a couple of hours trying on and talking heels with Stan and Steve. Stan was very helpful, and patient, producing numerous pairs of boots and shoes to satisfy my requests. He also explained which styles use the same lasts meaning that if one fits the others fit also. My parting shot was to try a pair of their ankle ballet boots, amazing them and myself by standing in them (with knees a little bent and easier than the 6inch courts I tried). Time to start saving! I came away with a pair of 41/2 inch stiletto lace up knee boots in black leather (Divine 8619) which are excellent. I could easily have spent a fortune but one pair will have to do. Divine still get a number of styles made locally for themselves but don't have their own factory any more (converted to flats). They also buy in from British and American sources, and I saw Pleaser and Hayway amongst other brands. All the shoes and boots look of good quality.

  9. I've floated around on the edges of High Heel Meeting Place for some time now, making the od post, but never told you about myself, so here goes. Name: Iain Age: 39 Gender: Male Location: North Wales Occupation: Currently home maker. Height: 5'7" ish Weight: 10.5 Stone Shoe size: 41/42 Eur, 7/8 UK What's your favourite heel style: stilletos What's your favourite shoe style: ankle boots Do you wear your heels outside: Yes, including to the school gate with my 4 yr old son! If not in heels in 2.5" to 3" platforms (buffalo or swear). What is: (a) Your favourite heel height: 5inch (with 1 inch platform) (:( Your highest heel height: 5inch How often do you wear: (a) Your favourite heel height: Most of the time if possible Do you wear socks, hose, stockings or bare feet with your shoes: socks Anything else you wish to add: Never a closet heel wearer, I finally gave in to the desire to wear heels early this year and went straight out in them. The fear of people's reactions is far worse than the reality (but then I'm used to comments on appearance having sported pierced ears since 16).

  10. :D A visit to the Kinky Boot Factory - I'd be up for that if dates, times etc can be sorted. Its a long way from Snowdonia, so I'd probably want to combine it with a visit to friends near Northampton (be interesting to get their reaction to me turning up in heels  ). Also there is the childcare equation to be solved unless my wife can get some time off work. If it has to be a week day, a Friday afternoon or Monday morning might be better for me as it would combine with the weekend meaning fewer days with childcare difficulties. Then again, my wife has a week off sometime in June (I'll post a date when I know), perhaps she could come as well :D
  11. As promised on my previous topic Just three days in heels and out shopping… here how I got on on my heeled holiday at the In-Laws.

Got back on Saturday from a week away staying with my Mum-in-Law. I wore my heels all week (other than a couple of spells playing with my son in the garden).

As far as I can recall the only comments were from my brother in law and his wife. I can't remember what he said, but she asked my wife "has he been borrowing your boots?" to which the reply was "No, they are his". End of conversation. Mum in law had a look when we arrived, but said nothing all week - she's way too sensible to make issues of things that don't matter.

Went everywhere in heels whilst away - Asda, Macro, PC World. Explored Brantano and had two shopping trips into Reading, one with family and one solo. I noticed a few strange looks but heard no comments. Is it me, or is it always the 10 to 15 year olds that notice?

On my solo trip - bus into and out of town plus miles (felt like) walked around the shops I had no bother at all. Had a brilliant shoe hunt in Schuh, with an excellent assistant :D . Just a shame the boots they had which I liked didn't fit (wrong shape or larger sizes out of stock). In the end she said "I'll go and get all the size 8's I can find" :D Came back with an armful, some of which looked great but weren't a good fit. I might hunt out a pair of their Abba boots though. Big "Hooray" for Schuh Reading.

The assistants in Barratt's were also very good but I really wanted higher heels than they sell.

I also wore my boots driving both to and from Reading, with stops at Shrewsbury Sainsbury's for petrol, and a motorway service area going and at Evesham Tescos and in Kidderminster coming back. Went into United Footwear in Kidderminster on the way home - Um, how can I put it? Unimpressed?

I'll have to dream up an excuse for a trip to Manchester - something like "I want to go shoe shopping"

All I can say to anyone wondering whether they should go out in heels is DO IT (remember I was wearing 5" heel boots with 1" platforms :() The worrying is worse than the doing. Most people are much too wrapped up in their own worries to care what you have on your feet, and if they do notice they tend to just look confused!

  12. Bet you wish you'd done it before :D I look forward to future happy stories.

Yes, Julietta, you're right. I should have done this simple thing years ago. Interesting though that I've never had "at home only heels". I've just left it until I decided to go the whole way. Too mean to buy shoes which I can't really use properly.

As for future stories - had to get some cat food and groceries today, so off we go in heels, no problem. People just don't look at your feet unless they are into shoes like we are. Anyway they were under extra flared jeans so not too obvious. Don't flared jeans look so much better when they cover your (heeled) foot almost completely rather than big bloke shoes sticking out from under

The only problem I had was 70 degrees and ankle boots. Might just have to get some sandles or mules… :D

  13. Who, what, why United Footwear? :D Do they have a web-site? I looked them up on yell.com, and all their stores are miles from me (but then virtually everywhere is  . It would be good to get an idea of their styles etc. before treking to them.

  14. Yes, my immediate family knows about my heels. Its easier that way, but then they know I'm a little "unusual" anyway! My wife just asked me last night "does this mean your going to wear them (my heeled boots) all the time?" and 4 yr olds don't care. My own parents don't know - they are seriously square - but I suspect that my Mum in law will know by this time next week  !!

My heeled boots were bought from the Kays catalogue - go to http://www.kays.com and then search for item code PB6265. I can't find a direct link as their site is all Javascript. My boots are the black ones.

My Swear boots are black Air 03's - flattish with 3" platform. Wouldn't they be so much more fun if they were wedged? See them at http://www.swear-alternative.com/default.asp?do=1&shoe=4328&color=8248.

I'll have to post my in-laws reactions, won't I. And perhaps the results of a shopping trip in Reading?

  15. I got my first pair of heels last week, and today I wore my new boots out - my first time ever in public with heels. They are heels too, black ankle boots with 5" heel and 1" platform (from Kays mailorder - item no. PM6265). Wore boots, boot cut black cords (H&M), burgundy sweatshirt. There is a good 1 - 2 inches of heel showing! I went to a local retail park for some bits and bobs with my 4yr old. I shopped in Kwik-Save, and visited several other stores to ask about furniture for a cottage we're doing up. Then to Halfords for some MolySlip for my Moto Guzzi bevel box and tools etc. Then drive home, with a stop for petrol on the way. The only people that obviously noticed were a few early teens girls who kept looking back - no comments, no bother. We're of to the mother in laws for Easter and I'm planning to travel in heels. I'll take my sensible(?) shoes with me - Swear Air boots! Its good to be wearing what I want at last. Elevated
