  1. Sorry ive been gone for so long guys, I've still been heeling, and just had to post on this thread. I don't actually have any of the same heels as my gf, but just yesterday I was at her house and she showed me a pair she got a while ago but hasn't worn yet. She said I should try them on, which I did, and loved how they looked with my boot cut jeans (they're a 4.5" stiletto sandal with a ton of straps, plus the color looked great w/ my fresh from the salon black pedicure) so she let me borrow them, and I'm wearing them now, and planning to wear them to class tomorrow.:cry1: I'll try to find my camera so I can post pics tomorrow.

  2. First I agree w/ Dr. Shoe that a forum makes the most sense as a format. If members who have really good or really bad experiences post what stores they were in it'll help. I'm sure stores (like the one I'm about to write about) where people have good experiences would like the positive feedback, and at least in my area (Ohio) I know we have several members, and probably even more who just read but don't post, so it would help us get an idea of where we can get great shoes in our size and be treated well while we do that:smile: That said, here's my contribution to it: As of today I have a new favorite store where I got AMAZING service. The girl there was the nicest person I've ever dealt with while wearing and buying heels. She brought out every size 11 stiletto they had (w/o me asking her to, I just said I love wearing stilettos when she asked what kind of shoes I was looking for. She asked for my size and brought out every stiletto they had) and encouraged me to try on anything i wanted, and even gave favorable comments on how the shoes looked w/ my outfit. She complimented me on how I walk in heels, and when I bought a pair of boots she even stretched them for me to make the width more comfortable. She also told me that they get their shipments on thursdays, and got my number and gave me the store number and told me to call on a thursday so they can hold a pair of any new shoes they get in my size that I might want to check out. I'm sure some of you had, but this is by far the best service I've ever had. The store was the Shi-by journeys in Southpark mall, Strongsville Ohio, I wish I could remember the girl's name (I wanna say Sarah?) she really was great, and she will be bringing the store almost all of my business as long as she and people like her work there. I'd highly recommend it, only possible con is that the styles they had (@ lest when I was there) in 11 are a bit more wild, they had a few normal pairs of pumps and boots but alot more as she called them "club shoes" (picture a much less expensive version of the sort of thing I see Victor Blanco wearing in most of the pics we've seen of him) which I love, but for those who like to be more subtle aren't always the best choice.

  3. It's been forever since I've gotten to do anything really fun in heels, so sorry about my absence. Today I went from feeling like I wanted to give up wearing my heels in public to loving it more than ever and having my fav experience so far, a new fav store (and new fav pair of boots;)

I went to a mall farther from my house than usual but out by my school. I decided that I wanted to wear my black stiletto pumps out again, and I had a whole outfit w/ jeans, a dress shirt sticking out under a sweater and my bag. So I got out of my car and started walking toward "Shi by journeys" I got probably 5 bad looks that I saw, someone looked at my feet and looked back up with a frown / scowl. I’ve never really had negative feedback before, so while I was walking toward the store I started thinking "if society isn't ready for men wearing heels, why do I still do it? It would be so much easier to just wear them around the house and stick to sneakers and men's dress shoes in public" so I was thinking that as I walked into Shi which was totally empty, except for the sales girl. She was about 25 and had a couple tattoos, and looked pretty open-minded. So unlike my first store experience, when she asked if she could help me find anything I said "I saw on your website that you go up to size 11, I love stilettos, so could you let me know what you carry in a big 10 or an 11?" and she said "sure" disappeared to the back, and came back with a stack of shoe boxes that were all size 11 :w00t2: she watched me try on 6 different pairs of pumps, walk around in them, and she commented on how they looked w/ my outfit.

She was great, it was exactly how I would love to be treated, she knew I'm a normal, straight guy who happens to LOVE wearing high heels, and she had a way of talking to me that I loved, she somehow figured out that I want to be treated like a regular manly guy (which I am about everything else) she talked about the browns, and how their season is going. But she sensed that I'm a girl at heart just when it comes to shoes, and nail polish. She complimented me on my orange toes, said the black pumps I was wearing were "soooo cute on me" She probably said the words "cute pumps" 5 or 6 times about the shoes I was trying on. Finally I tried on the boots I ended up buying (and posted a pic of); they were a size 10 calf high pair of stilettos with a platform. They're the highest heels I own and my only plats. I even stayed to talk for a few mins after the transaction. They were a bit narrow so she even offered to stretch them for me (which made them fit even better) She was just completely cool and at ease with a guy coming in and trying on cute heels and buying a pair so I left the store totally happy, back in love w/ public heeling, walked around the mall for another 20 mins or so thinking there is still hope for society after all :chuckle:

Here's the page w/ the boots, it's on the Shi website so it'll probably eventually be down, but this is seriously my new fav store, I only tried on 6 pairs of pumps and these boots, but they had another dozen or so size 11s that I didn't like the style of (I felt it would be rude to try something completely out there on that I knew I had no intention of buying, even though she probably wouldn't have minded)

I'm not a huge fan of the studs on the side, but even w/ jeans that show the whole heel they're still covered, and I'm loving my new boots, I haven't taken them off yet since I bought them a couple hours ago

  4. I just wish my feet were one size smaller and regular instead of wide. I'm really a 10 wide, but usually wear an 11 I have one pair of 10 regular and they're my favorite shoes, but they're tight and hurt after more than a half hour of wearing them. I'd be happy with a 10M but a 9M would be my dream, that would open up pretty much everything:smile:

  5. So it’s been a few weeks, and I’ve decided it’s time to stop posting new experiences on my “first time thread” and make one where I’ll write about everything new. So here it is. (I don’t have pics yet, I promise I will take pics of everything and post them as soon as I find my digital camera and have a few mins)

So today, 9/14/09 I decided to try my longest and most public outing so far. My silver pumps I used for my last outing are technically stiletto (the heel tip is smaller than a dime) but barely. So today I wanted to try my thinnest heels, four inch almond toe patent black pumps with heels about as thin as they come. These are my first heels and I got them a bit loose, but they still fit, so last night I went for a half mile walk in my neighborhood late when the street was empty to practice walking in them.

Finally this morning I put together my outfit: dark jeans, t-shirt, open oxford dress shirt, and my custom made cloth man bag, and of course, black stiletto heels :) I drove to the closest mall (no small feat, driving manual in stilettos is tough at first lol) Once I got there I parked by H&M and walked in. I looked for the Aldo they were supposed to be opening, but it wasn’t open yet. I walked around for a while, stopped to fill out one of those win a car things, then I went to Shoe Dept. I was looking for boots since I seriously want to start wearing stiletto boots to school b/c I’m not ready for pumps yet (my goal is to wear stiletto pumps before the semester is over to class thoughJ They didn’t have any boots I liked, I did try on a pair of platform pumps that looked really cool and out there, but I didn’t buy them. Unfortunately the only employee was talking to another customer the whole time I was there and didn’t notice me. I was really hoping to talk to the same girl who helped me last time. I popped into forever 21 and H&M looking for girls jeans to wear with heels, talked to a couple sales girls, but didn’t find any I liked. So from there I left the mall and went to the DSW by the mall. I looked through the clearance and tried on a pair of Steve Madden and Chinese laundry platform wedge sandles (I liked the look, I might consider wearing them, pedicure didn’t match them though) then I looked for boots, the only ones I found were more than I wanted to spend, so I left and went home. So that’s it, but when I got home, in the mail (which I took from the mailman still wearing my heels, he didn’t notice L was my welcome to the club thing from DSW, along w/ a $10 off coupon, which I’m thinking I’ll use soon for the boots I've been wantings.

Even though I hesitate to say “take seriously” I feel like the workers in stores take you more seriously (or are less likely to think you’re there to try everything on, mess it up and not buy when you come in wearing your own heels. Even if they think it’s weird they still see that you wear heels, so I felt like they actually treated me better than when I wear sneakers and look at heels. So my plan is from now to only shop for heels, or for that matter, makeup (I wear eyeliner and my toes are always painted) or girls jeans when I’m already in heels, or at least my makeup done thicker (I wear it most days, but only a little, so it’s not obvious), or (I know this isn’t the right forum for this) I finally get the courage to go out with my finger nails painted (something I’ve been wanting to try). Even if they think it’s weird I think having any of that makes us look more like potential customers than a nuisance. (just my take based on the vibes I’ve gotten)

I know this was long, hope to have more to write about, and I will post pics of everything (and my new boots if I find some) soon.

Thanks guys, sorry about posting a novel :) lol

  6. I'm doing it right now. I'm sitting in a packed panera wearing my silver pumps, my jeans don't even cover them, you can see 3 inches of heel and almost all of the shoe, I got a couple weird looks, but no real staring, more so just ppl noticing, otherwise just smiles. I'm sitting here doing an english assignment, eating a bagel wishing I thought of this forever ago, the moral of the story is, as you guys already know, NO ONE CARES and even if they do our society is so politically correct they won't say anything they've even been trained since they wre kids that it's rude to stare.:)

  7. Thanks for the welcome, and all the great encouragement guys:smile: So today I'm taking my next step in the world of heeling, I haven't worn anything other than the boots I described out of the house yet, but today I've got a plan, I'm going to school, and I have my favorite pair of shoes (4 inch silver madden girl pumps) in my bag. Im still not brave enough to wear those to school, but I really want to try wearing pumps in public, so I'm doing my first mini outting in them today, either CVS, Walmart, or somwhere with food after I get out of school (which is a couple hours before local highschools so places won't be packed with teens) I'm posting in advance as a deterant to chickening out, so tonight I'll be posting to tell everyone how it goes:thumbsup:

  8. Those are both really cool boots, I want a pair of higher stiletto boots to wear around campus when school starts (and the temp cools off a bit) Those are both good choices I like the style of the aldo ones better, because they're simpler, but personally I love the look of kneehigh boots, that's what I'm looking for (which helps the River Island ones). I voted maybe, but if you get either I'd be jealous :) lol

  9. I voted feminine, but just barely, Ive only been wearing high heels in public for two days (did again today) but Ive been wearing eyeliner and mascara (not too over the top or emo, just enough to bring out my eyes) for a couple months now. I've also gotten into painting my toes in the past month or so but that's all as far as feminine goes, I don't crossdress though.

  10. Thanks for the warm welcome guys, I appreciate the welcome and how cool everyone on this site seems:smile: I live and go to school by Cleveland, so I'd def be interested in checking out the "Heelmeet" canton is pretty close. Oh, btw, I did it again, I went to a packed grocery store in the boots walked through the whole store, and I asked an employee to help me find a product. I changed jeans before I went so the boots were on full display, wearning heels in public is fun, I want to do it with the higher pumps soon Thanks again, you guys are cool

  11. I'd like to start by introducing myself, I'm brand new to this forum, just discovered it about a week ago, and I love it already. It's great to know there are so many guys out there who are into wearing high heels too. I live in Ohio, I'm a sophomore in college and I'm dating a great girl who has encouraged me to be more open and free spirited, and also helped me start exploring my feminine side more :) (you can probably see how I got into wearing high heels now)

(You guys are probably tired of hearing about me by now and want to get to the experience, so here goes)

I've been fascinated by high heels and wanted to wear them since I was a kid, but never really got the chance to until a few weeks ago I got a pair of 4 inch stiletto pumps from payless and started wearing them around the house. They were so great I bought a pair of silver Steve Madden pumps at DSW the next day. They were great, but until today I'd only worn them in the house and driven in them.

So today I was in the mall just wearing sneakers when I saw that "The Shoe Dept" (store name) was having a sale and I really wanted a pair of high heel boots to try wearing to school it starts up again. So I went in and tried on a pair of calf high black pointy toe stiletto boots and I loved them but my legs were too thick for them to zip all the way. (here's where the great experience part comes in) the girl who works there came up to me when I was trying them on and said (we just got boots in Monday, we get shipments every Monday so if you come next week we'll probably have a lot more styles and even some that stretch and would probably fit better. So I thanked her and asked if they had any other heels in either a 10 wide or an 11 so I could get something that was on sale. She showed me a pair of black pumps with a 4 inch stiletto heel, but I said I was really looking for either a boot or at least something that would cover my whole foot and look like a boot with jeans.

She finally showed me a pair of black boots that were up to my ankles and had a fairly narrow 3 inch heel, I tried them on and was sold, when I was paying for them I asked if she had a lot of guys buy heels there and she said there was one guy who is a regular who comes in all the time, she also said she thinks it's cool for a guy to be open to trying them, and that the boots I got looked great with my jeans :)

So I'd never worn high heels in public before (I know 3 inch boots aren't as much fun as my 4 inch pumps, but I've got to start somewhere) so I told her I'd just wear them out of the store, so I put my sneakers in the bag and walked all the way through the mall (the shoe dept was on the complete opposite side as where I'd parked) My heels were clicking, and I think a couple people noticed, but I honestly didn't feel uncomfortable or see anyone looking, I had to force myself to look forward instead of looking at my boots in my reflection as I passed by store windows though :)

So long story short I did it, my first time out in heels was a blast, I think I'll go to the grocery store in them in an hour or so, and now I have a friend at a shoe store who knows I wear heels (I told her I'd be back next wk to see if I could get stiletto boots with a higher heel)

Sorry that my first post is so long, this is the first forum I've ever really posted on, and I got a bit excited about telling my story
