  1. Thanks everyone for kind responces, I really appreciate them. At least virtual guys like tall women.

well, after the event described in the beginning of this thread, I couldn't wear my beloved shoes for 2 weeks. And not because I was feared of short people:) I got huge blister on the bottom of my foot, so I was limping in my sneakers. Not very feminine walk. During that time while I was limping, one of my co-workers (usual height, usual figure. Usual shoe size. Regular feminine woman who wears heels to work everyday) why was I limping. I told her. She loves fashion and loves giving fashion advices. So she said I should wear heels but long pointed toes is a NO-NO for me, because they will make my feet look gigantic. So, optimal for me is 2" heel with rounded toes...

You mentioned that you immediately was surprised that you could wear heels. I think girls can wear heels whenever they choose, even if they basically live in sneakers all their life. Their feet are just made in the way that they'll be ready for heels, whenever that may be, and I get jealous of that, sometimes ;)

Not sure about that, or why would women perform surgeries on their feet just to be able to wear high heels? Although I didn't need any training (except when on slippery floor at the grocery store I almost twisted my ankle)

This site is so busy dealing with the trouble men have when they want to wear high heels we tend to forget that women have some problem too...

I'm starting to think I am the only female who has problems like these:silly:

But I can say that I'm hooked on heels, one pair is not enough, I demand more! ;) And I won't cry about my height anymore... But I probably will cry about my shoe size much more. I even drove to Vancouver, BC (3.5 hrs drive) just to get to tallcrest shoe store. I spent like 4 hours there trying various shoes that were in my size. Amazing! I've learned that 2" heels feel like flats to me and I tend to walk in them like in flats (wide steps) 5" are way too high for me, I don't think I'll be wearing those. My favorite height is 3-4".

I love high heels, I love how they feel, how they look, so I'll be wearing them all the time now. And oh, I've attached a pic of my first pair

  2. So, under steady influence of this forum (and bunch of very nice private messages from guys on this forum) I really started thinking about wearing heels:w00t2: Well, amazing thing is that I went on zappos just to browse I saw them... Oh my! IN MY SIZE! (Apparently even God wants me to wear heels, because this is amazing fluk) So this type of shoe I'm very obsessed with http://www.zappos.com/product/7341260/color/72 Without any hesitation, I've ordered (the last or only pair in size 13!) I didn't even care that heel size is 3 3/4" not exactly 4, but definately not 3. Didn't even care that I'll be

6'6 3/4" in them:) I wanted them badly. I barely could wait till they come (zappos is fast, really fast. But wasn't fast enough for me at that moment:smile:). Finally I got them. Reviews said this shoe runs smaller and suggest to buy one size larger... Well, there was no size larger for me. But when they came. Beautiful, sexy, stylish, classy... Mmmm... I put them on, and they fit perfectly. Well, that just added more happyness and excitement. I walked around the house, strangly didn't have any problems walking in them. Not at all. Immediatelly I felt height difference, I wasn't tall enough to reach ceiling fan with my head, but I did that in heels:clap: When I went shopping in them the same day, I've learned that walking in heels on carpet and on pavement are totally different things, I felt ever little rock on the ground, which I'm not used to, because 90% of the time I wear sneakers. Wearing heels I felt amazing thing: my walk has changed. Having really long legs I take wide steps, which makes my walk sort of boyish, thats the reason I almost never wear skirts. But in heels I couldn't take wide steps, I felt so feminine in them! Later in the mall I decided to get cute top and skirt and try something I haven't tried before (my friend also encoraged me, because she invided me to the party next day. I hate parties, but I went to this one, because wanted to see how long I can walk in heels)

First day in heels was good. No muscle pain, no back pain... Wearing heels isn't that hard! However next day after spending in heels 10am-3am I got huge blister on the bottom of my foot so I can't walk now:) My friend was proud of me, said I looked gorgeous and at that party I'll definately will find a boyfriend (she has mania to find me a bf) I got bunch of compliments that day, unfortunately they all came for girls, guys sort of avoided me. Maybe bacause I was like this http://www.flickr.com/photos/lottadot/112402914/ Very towering over people. I could see the top of everyone's heads... So there was a girl I've met at that party, she is very short. I mean something like 5'1" or less. She asked me a question (that was the question that was stopping me to wear high heels, actually) "Why do you wear high heels if you are so tall already?" Well before I tried high heels on I wouldn't be able to answer but after try them on... OMG!! I love them. But I desided to make a joke and answered "Why don't you wear high heels if you are so short?" Her reaction was... "This is not nice!" and then she walked away. First I felt like I was total bi**h, but then I thought about it and the question I have: why is it ok to tell a person "you are too tall don't wear heels", but not ok to say "you are too short start wearing heels"?

So right now I am not wearing high heels that blister hurts...

Sorry for long post, but I had to share these new feelings

  3. Well, I'm not sports girl... But because of my height, I was always forced to do sports. "Oh you are wasting your height, you could be playing ... " and various of sports. Now I just can't stand sports, not even mention of it. But I want to see basketball in high heels thats for sure! And of course race in heels is awesome too

  4. 182 cm = 6'0" (not that I'm math smart or anything, I just used tallwomen.org chart) I am 6'3" (which is 190cm) and I can look on the top of my tall fridge without heels:) 3" heels would put me at 6'6" (198cm) and I dread that height not even mentioning 4" heels... And measurements are funny. Measuring heels in inches is probably more convenient, because it gives nice round number and height is more convenient to measure in centimeters because its more accurate (thats my guess) Not sure about now, but when I visited europe TVs and computer monitors were measured in inches, VHS tapes had length written in cm and ft, yet in USA VHS tapes had length written in cm only, go figure...

  5. When I first saw the subject title, I thought, "oh great, now some group or movement is pushing for heels to be taken completely off the market and they want them to be banned from public use, again like in the time of the French Revolution."

No no no! I would never want high heels to go out of use. I remember 1998-2001 when the ugliest shoes were most popular and you could see barely any high heels in stores (it was also good for me, kept my urge down:smile:) But in my question I mean sometimes we end up in places we didn't plan to be. I have 2 examples: a friend of mine invited me to check out something. I asked "what is that?" she said "you'll see" so we went. It was entire street of new multimillon houses opened for pulic to see. NO STILETTOS sign at every entrance. I had a thought then "hmm, if I wore heels right now, I would have to take them off" and unlike all my friends, I hate walking barefoot or wearing flipflops or sandals. Example number two: when I was in college, my friend invited me to visit his home during the summer. I was mega excited, because his home is in Caracas Venezula. So I went down there it was totally awesome! Women there have very good sence of fashion so tons of cute shoes and outfits:) And here I come, jeans t-shirt and sneakers:) Yet, I was megacenter of attention because being tall and blond attracts lots of attention. So our company was cruising around Caracas and my friend said "we got to show you mountains and cable cars!" So we went. In the montains there were no roads of course... Girls in our company wore stilettos:w00t2: I love love love stilettos, I want to wear them a lot, but that evening I did not envy those girls. So it partially goes to what Histiletto said. But on the other hand we didn't plan that... and taking shoes off was not possible, because of sharp rocks...

  6. Wanted to ask in girls forum first... But this applies to men as well. What would you do if you ended up somewhere where high heels are prohibited? I mean sometimes they say not to wear heels in airports or escalators... I've been in quite a few places where I saw NO HEELS sign. and if in new homes you can walk barefoot, then at the power plant (where I had a tour when I was in college) it was out of question, yet floors weren't real floors they were metal bars so on the 36th floor you could see all the way to the bottom... Everytime I think what would I do if I wore high heels? So, you never know where you might end up...

  7. I am taller than nearly any man I go out with. I used to worry about it and avoided high heels. I eventually gave up worrying about it and wear what I want. I am 6'5" and normally wear a 3 or 4 inch heel. If I go out with a taller guy I will wear higher heels and have two pair that are 6+ inches. I also have one pair that are 8.5 inch. My husband bought them for me.

You got to teach me how you do that:thumbsup: I'm 6'3" and I complain and cry about my height. All my life I was tomboyish, because people by default would think that I have to be tomboyish, I could never be feminine. But believe it or not, I want to be more feminine
  8. How tall are you?

    6'3"

Are you happy with your height?

No I am not! I want to be feminine and cute, but with this height most people think I should be in sports or something:( Besides I hate my size 13

Does your height have any bearing on why you wear heels?

I'm not brave enough to wear heels, although I LOVE THEM! everytime I see woman wearing high heel stilettos, it makes my head turn and I so envy her.

What would be your perfect height?

    5'8"

    and shoe size 9

How does your height compare to your partner?

don't have partner... But average men I see around me are shorter.

  9. Hello, I'm new to this forum, I live in WA, I'm 28yo and I love high heel stilettos:w00t2: Even though I can't really wear them, because my height is 6'3" (190cm) which sucks badly, I still can dream about them, can't I?:winkiss: So I like to read the forum and admire shoes, since I don't dare to wear them
