  1. There is no way on Earth I would ever pass for female. Which is fine, since I don't really have a desire to do so apart from general curiosity. (Ironically, tho, despite being a tall hairy guy, I can do a passable imitation of a young woman's voice. My friends have described this as disturbing. I had some fun performing prank calls in high school with that talent, at least.) So anyway. Heels are definitely a yes; skirt/kilt maybe, if it's knee-length and it's hot out. But I'll be wearing them as a guy.

  2. Uggghhh.

I'm in college. Thankfully, it's springtime now, but back during colder weather, I had numerous classes where literally every single girl was wearing Uggs or some knockoff thereof. And now that it's warm, it's nothing but flip-flops, sneakers, and ballerina flats.

On a campus with 35,000 undergrad students, I'm lucky if I see more than 2 or 3 (non-faculty) women wearing heels on any given day.

It's been like this, more or less, for the past 3 years or so. Downright depressing.

  3. I wear a Men's 13, which translates to Women's 15. There is almost nothing to be found in my size, apart from the Pleaser/Ellie selection, which of course consists almost entirely of things I'd never wear outside the house. I've got entirely the wrong body type for stilettos to look presentable. I'd *like* to wear wedge heels, but they all tend to drop off the face of the planet at size 10. So, ah, no. I'm not happy with the size of my ginormous feet.

  4. I've finally decided to come out of lurking. So, hi! ;) I'm a tall, strange, 20something college student guy. I joined the forum partly because it's really difficult to find heels I like in my size. (Wedge heels in particular seem to go into hiding at the bare mention of large sizes.) I figured if anyone would know where to find them, normal or custom made, it'd be the people here. More than that, though, I joined to see what other heelers were wearing, and to socialize. So, if you ever want to chat, I'd be very happy to ;)

  5. May as well stop lurking. It's bad form when everyone else's footsteps can be heard but not mine. :penitent:

    Name: Ninuden

    Age: Mid-20s

    Gender: Male

    Location: Northeast US

    Occupation: Student :penitent:

    Height: ~1.92cm (upper-end of 6'3")

Weight: About 100kg/230lb... I need to exercise more ;)

    Shoe size: (US) Men 13W

What's your favourite heel style: Thick wedge or chunky

What's your favourite shoe style: Knee-high boots (though I also like the idea of wedge sneakers)

Do you wear your heels outside: Yes, but not very often (at present, most are boots and are unsuitable to either warm or icy weather)

Do you wear socks, hose, stockings or bare feet with your shoes: Socks, almost always, though there are occasional exceptions.

    Anything else:

Odd as it may sound, I'm using the Ninuden handle so as to avoid online scrutiny rather than real-life scrutiny. Most people tend to be a lot more polite in person (particularly to someone who towers over them ;)) than when talking to someone online. And nearly all of my friends are pretty open minded anyway.

I'd be happy to chat anytime (as long as I'm not bogged down with college work)

  6. I admit there are some women who look decent in Uggs with sweatpants or something, but frankly I think all of them would look better with different footwear. It got downright depressing this past winter, when practically every single girl in my class wore Uggs. Day after day after day. I think I saw a total of maybe 6 girls wearing heels or boots (once or twice each, tops) throughout that entire semester. ;)

Bottom line: I could tolerate Uggs if there was a wedge-heeled version of at least 2-3 inches, or maybe even a flat 2"+ platform version if we're feeling funky. But as it is, the trend needs to die.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing those "unisex" chunky boots from the late '90s come back. They were heeled, yet comfortable enough that they'd be worn fairly often by a larger cross-section of people, rather than being relegated to the closet 90% of the time.

Moreover, if those chunky boots actually were ever made for both sexes, they'd be perfect for guys. I could never find any bigger than USW 11, though; I'm a USM 13. Not to mention they're long since off the market.

(edit: My first post! Wanted to mention that.)
