  1. Love the shoes. Noticed that most of the ultra-high heels look too big for the models. Must keep that in mind should I "invest" in something that high. I think I would prefer to visit a store in person for something that high.

  2. Another quick visit to the supermarket tonight. This time, I'm sure that the guy following me in noticed, as I caught him looking down when I turned around. I think you are right, Shafted. Most people won't say anything, even if they wanted to. I probably wouldn't either What part of Maine are you from? the only reason I ask is that I spent 11 months in Rockland on work experience with Uni. Very nice part of the world, expecially in the autumn.

  3. Yesterday morning I went to the supermarket on the way to work to pick supplies, about 6:30 am. I was wearing these boots, with jeans. Only the bottom 1-2" would have been visible. There were a handfull of people, but no one said anything, or even indicated that something was amiss. I'm sure that the sound of the heels would have been heard.

  4. Thanks for the nice comments. The cleak treated me as a normal customer. I originally tried on the same style, but in blank, and only a size 39. They fit (just), but he also suggested another style. They were a size 40, but the calf region was not tight and kept slipping down. Most uncomfortable :P . There should be enough room to wear over jeans, except my jeans are a little longer, and the in-step is still a little tight I would have to double over the bottom of the leg, and that would be a little uncomfortable it think. I'm not a big fan of wearing boots over jeans/pants On the night, I wore these jeans and it covered most of the boot, except for about 2". So the heel, not to mention the sound of the heels on the pavement, would have been on show. Little steps are turning into big ones :P Cheers... Rob

  5. Hi nhoj62. They are brown suede, and they cost AUD$150, ~ US$115. I would by more, but only if they had another sale, as I think they are generally a little too expensive.

  6. Well, I finally bit the bullet and bought some boots from a "normal" shoe store. For those in Melbourne, they were purchased from Chadstone, as the end of financial year sales are on.

Admittably, it was close to closing time, but there were still customers in the store. I was served by a gentlemen, but got a couple of nice comments from the 3 other women who where also working there.

They are a nice chocolate brown knee length boot, size 40 and all leather. The heel is about 4", very comfortable. I have been wearing them for about 4 hours now and I still have feeling in all of my toes.

I usually have troubles with boots as I have a fairly wide foot and usually have difficulty zipping over my in-step. These fit beautifully. The brand is "Robert Robert" have have a small gold plate under the arch of the sole. I'm sure they were thinking of me :P

After purchasing my shoes, I then wore them out of the store and back to my car, about a 4 minute walk. Another first for me :P I'm sure that they were noticed but I did not get any comments.

    Here are the images.

  7. Hi Kerridwyn, As a fellow heel wearer from Melbourne, I would definiately recommend a visit to shoecraft. However, he is expensive and, depending on your taste in shoes, the range in your size might be limited. I have found that the Adult store chain SexyLand has a okay range and sizes. You will probably need to try on the shoes instore, as I have had the experience of trying on a size 40 pump which fit, and a size 42 boot which didn't (very tight around the calf and heel). the stores in Dandenong and Thomastown are staffed by non-judgemental people and will definitely assist you in your queries. One female staff member told me she was amazed that I could stand in a pair of 5 1/2" heels, let alone walk in them. I even tried to convince a male staff member to try on a pair, but to no avail. As far as your size is concerned, it can be difficult to convert a male size into a female size. I wear a size 10 1/2 (aus) male running shoes, but fit into size 10 (AUS), 10 1/2 (US) 9 (UK) or (40-41 EURO). But it all really depends on the shoe. Depending on where you live in Melbourne, you might want to try a couple of the shoe stores in Chapel street. They are used to "all sorts" of people, and I have bought a couple of pairs from a place in Prahran, near the station. Just remember, you will not be the first male shopper, and you will not be the last. Like Dawn said, it is an experience you will come to love, and maybe regret (it can cost a fortune) Good luck. ps. If you would like a shopping "buddy" to break the ice in the store, myself, and a few other members, could probably help you.

  8. My g/f knows about the heels and hose, and also knows that it is part of me and that it won't go away. I don't wear them outside as I am way to nervious. However, since the birth of our first child, she has become a lot less tolerant, and even sees it as threatening. We have made a comprise, in that I will only wear them when she is not home, and if I want a "session", she can disappear for a while. I'll see what the future holds, and I hope that she will become more comfortable. Does anyone else wear their heels and/or hose around their children ?

  10. I also like to paint my toe nails. But I don't like "traditional" female colours like pink. I prefer blues, purple, greens. I can occassionally get the girlfriend to paint them for me, but she still isn't quite confortable with the whole Heels/Hose thing. Trouble is, I only get about 1-2 weeks, as I play beach volleyball (ie bare feet).
