I hope to be there too. I have quite a few friends that are going. Let's just hope someone takes some notice for once.
I'm afraid I'm finding it hard to be optimistic though.
Love and peace to you all

Hello Laurie
I realise that it may be some time before you get to read this, but I wish you a speedy and full recovery from your surgery, and a happy and healthy future together for you and Chris.
All the best

I agree with you entirely, Micha. This is one reason why I wouldn't really want high heels to become my normal, everyday footwear. I still find it quite exciting and fun just to wear heels in public once in a while.
Also, as far as I'm concerned, the more people that notice I'm wearing heels, the better. I would be disappointed if nobody did.
Anyway, I hope you all continue to enjoy your heel wearing experiences.

Hello Vanessa
Yes, I'm certainly a great admirer of Albert Ayler's music. As you said, utterly unique. Glad to hear there's another fan here, and that you enjoyed the picture.
In case you were wondering, the picture is from the latest (January) edition of The Wire magazine www.thewire.co.uk. There's an interview with Ayler from 1970, and also an absolutely amazing interview with his former bassist Henry Grimes, who disappeared over 30 years ago, and most people thoght was also deceased.

That is a Djeliba a kind of gown worn by arabs and north Africans.
Of course you're absolutely right Dr. S.
I do feel rather silly now.

The late sixties psychedelic fashion could be pretty outrageous.
On the subject of the sixties, I just came across this picture of Albert Ayler wearing what appears to be a dress of some kind.
Not the sort of thing I would wear myself, but I do think it looks rather good.

Hello Julietta
Nice pictures, great shoes. Thanks for sharing with us.
I hope you had an enjoyable time on your evenings out in December.

I haven't seen the video. Couldn't bear the music. I suppose I could watch it with the sound turned down.
Are the Lopez boots you mentioned these http://www.shoe-shop.com/cgi-bin/main.pl?pgm=co_disp&func=displ&carfnbr=&prrfnbr=53478&sesent=0,0 ? I have a pair, they are my favourites. I haven't got Kylie's legs either though. Fortunately.

Fig leaf and stiletto heels. The perfect outfit for any occasion.

I'm 43 and I love it. I do like the idea of being avant garde, but I accept that I'm not really. There's certainly nothing avant garde about wearing high heels. Mind you, I hope I'm not a geezer either.

Julietta, I would just like to say how glad I am that there are women like you around. This thread was actually getting a bit depressing until you joined in. I should also add that from my experience, the majority of women have no problem with men wearing high heels. In fact some of them really do find it quite exciting.

I would certainly like to meet up with some of you sometime, but Saturdays are usually difficult for me. I would definately be in favour of a Sunday meeting in or around London if anyone fancies it.
Quite a coincidence that you are planning to go to Tate Modern on Saturday, as I have been intending to go there this Sunday to catch the last day of the Barnett Newman exhibition. And yes, I will be wearing heels.
Anyway, have a nice time.

Hello Laurie
I just thought I would let you know that I have read through your diaries, and they make thoroughly enjoyable and interesting reading. I look forward to reading more.
I hope you keep up the writing, and continue to enjoy life with Chris and the new car and, of course, the high heels.

A xaphoon is a bamboo wind instrument from Maui.
If Xaphod doesn't play one, I think he should..."Xaphod the Xaphoonist"

I know in astrology there's something known as a antecedent, it goes together with your sign.
I think you mean the ascendant. It's what is also known as your "rising sign". Mine is cancer. We probably shouldn't go into this here though. It starts to get very complex.

Great theme tune. Nearly as good as Teletubbies

1.Now or in past (high school)? Now, and for as long as I can remember. I have played lots of instruments over the years. Accordion, clarinet, saxophone, drums, piano, synthesizer, trumpet . . . My main instruments now are guitar, xaphoon and electronics. Playing music has become my main priority in life. Pity theres no money in it.
2.If so what gear? (brand model etc...) I won't bore you with this. I've got lots of stuff.
3.What style music? Free improvisation.
4. What instrament whould like to learn to play? Anything I can get my hands on!

Overall a pretty awful outfit in my opinion. The skirt might not look so bad if it was black. The tie, however, is unforgivable. Ties are rather pointless items anyway, but without a shirt they look even more ridiculous than they usually do. Thats what I think anyway. Nothing much wrong with the trousers and the boots though.

Hello everbody It's great to be here. This forum seems very friendly. I'm sure all you lovely people will all make me feel welcome. I have posted a "Let's get to know each other", but I just found this thread and I thought I should add something here too. Stephen p.s. I don't like the emoticons, so I won't be using them. I don't even like the word "emoticon". Just assume that I'm smiling all the time.

I have never before seen a pair of cowboy boots that I found the least bit appealing, but those are absolutely wonderful. I would love a pair of those.
