  1. Until HHP I was a very conservative heeler - brown, black 5" stiletto boots under male pants--when I went out - just my heel clicks. I have since branched out: hose, leggings, Utilikilts, woman's jeans, skirts, painted toenails, pumps, peeptoe, strappy sandals :):) YES HHP has helped me expand my wardrobe, myself, my self image & my comfort zone. Many thanks to everyone!!!! GTMHP

  2. i recently had a heckler decide to get violent with me because i was wearing high heels and makeup. a quick application of painful pressure to the pressure points in his wrist, armpit and collarbone and he was apologizing for his stupidity. I walked away from the incident smiling.

    Good skills to have:smile:

  3. Hecklers? Got my Heckler&Koch right here! :)

To be serious, how I deal with unpleasant ones depends on how I feel. Sometimes I have balls to go right in front of rogues' faces, sometimes I prefer to avoid them. If somebody stares, I usually stare right back.

I took on three hecklers today when I was out in my Utilikilts & sandals:smile: I was in a food court. When I explained the kilt was ancient/honorable male attire, that I felt quite at ease in a kilt in summer I got applause from other diners men, women & kids -- the tween hecklers melted into the crowd.:)

As i get bolder in my attire this summer, Utilikilts, skirts, stilettos, sandals etc. I find my courage fashion ease has increased.

Excellent work and a lot of enjoyable feelings out and about. Keep on doing what you are doing and you can work your style and wardrobe as you go as others have done. Congrats!

    Cheers---

  5. Congrats! It's a good feeling, isn't it? Not nearly as daunting as it first seems, and you had good responses as well!

Oh it was a fantastic feeling. I was blown away the various responses, the fact that I was turning heads, teens wanted a pic, various approving comment. I'm still analyzing my own responses :)

Now I gotta develop my own style.

BTW radiodave I have greatly enjoyed your heeling exploits.

  7. Ok after reading the heeling adventures Kneehighs & HappyFeat [and a trip to my local secondhand store where I found 4 skirts] I went out in a jeans skirt, light blue short sleeve shirt & my red 5" stiletto knee high boots. I got a number of double takes, long looks from men, kids, teen & a few women. I also had several positive comments from women & teens. One teen turned to her friend & commented "He walks better in heels than =I= do." Two teens snapped my pic with their cell phones. A 60 something woman said I looked good. A waitress wanted to know where I bought my boots. I had lunch at a local restaurant, stopped at the post office, shopped in NineWest, Barnes & Noble, BestBuy, bought groceries then back home. I felt relaxed and quite energized - I thoroughly enjoyed myself!!! I WILL do more heeling in skirts.:) GTMHP

  8. Leg pain was why I started wearing pantyhose and I have never stopped and like you I wear with my kilts or skirts with with gogo boots with 3" heels out comments.

    Great pic!!!!

Utilikilts a a fantastic way for even the shy guy to wear a comfortable 'skirt' in public w/o any hassle real or imaginary.

  9. Well this is the day after getting off of an airplane, sitting all day either cramped in an airplane or sitting waiting for my plane. My legs are feeling pretty good. I used Oroblu-70's.

Two years ago I got off an airplane and I had some of the worest leg pains I ever had they lasted for several days until I remember I had support hose in the drawer.

This year I made sure I traveled in pantyhose and my legs are feeling pretty good.

I also traveled in a Utilikilt. I had NO harassment from anyone. Lots of people seen the UK and the hose was hard to miss.

For those still sitting on the fence about wearing a skirt out.

    Two answers:

    * Just do it.

    * OR start with a Utilikilt they have a built-in acceptance factor, by all those who have gone before.

Shoes, wear something approiate and comfortable, I worn flat sandles no heels, I had to be my own pack mule.

    -- Brandy

Utilikilts are a good first choice because they look & are

cut as a kilt -- definitely male wear :) Plus they look great!!:)

  10. danielp6406 -

I think the rate of beard growth is related to the level of testosterone flowing in your veins.

I am curious about what switch(s) turns my desire to be Thighbootguy on and off. I don’t know if it all mental attitude, or if there is a physical (chemical, see above) component, but it does come and go.

Ah, but if things never changed, life would be boring… even in thigh boots and a skirt.

Phases of the moon? Sun spots?? :)

  11. I spoke too soon and underestimated the delight of wearing this 17” lamb skin skirt. I stopped in Sam’s after work wearing the skirt, a long sleeved white dress shirt, and black knee boots with 2.5” block heels. I stopped just for an excuse to wear the skirt. :)

Here in summer with 100F temps skirts & boots are the way to go with a sun screen with a high SPF:smile:

  12. All

Some photos for you; had to quickly download at lunch whilst people out of the office, will re-sort later.

Unfortunately, as you'll see, the corset shows up the slight twist in my spine, which is annoying as the nip over my hips is different to each side.

  13. Family is OK with it. Female relatives & I shop for shoes & clothes. They think I have the courage to be who I am & dress in clothes and shoes that make me look good!! It's no big deal, never has been -- It's just shoes & clothes after all .:) Freestylers unite!!!!:) GTMHP

  14. I saw numerous 'hip' teenage lads at Camden & Brent Cross yesterday wearing jeans/trousers that were hanging around their backsides, their underpants clearly on display above them. Not a word was spoken or finger pointed at any of them !?! In a logical, healthy society, we would all be calling these idiots out for being, well for being idiots basically. What will they do next? wear no trousers at all? wear them around their ankles?

meanwhile, a guy openly wearing heels will get stared at, pointed at, nudge-nudge+whisper treatment, snickering, looks of pity/amusement/horror, etc. (I know, i've seen all of these and more when out & about with some of the 'brazen' streetheelers from this forum)

Strange and distinctly unfair world we live in! ;)

This is just the time & place where I engage these yob in dialog. You can't change minds & hearts by silence alone.

  15. Indeed it is a mental hurdle, the height of which is determined by your location. Central London - Manhattan are two places where the hurdle is really low and you would have to be a limbo expert for it to stop you getting out in some sort of heel, but it isn't universal. Some places your whole body is not welcome, let alone what you have on your feet.

Its why I am such a devotee of cuban heels, these are a good half way house.

    Simon.

I live in central California...... ;)

  16. Hiline,

I guess your boots have a distinctly feminine heel so covering them I can understand. At 3" high, your walk is hardly altered, and if necessary you can run just as you would with a 1" heel, but it is the limit for proper running. If the heel is slim, then running will not be an option either.

Despite what Kneehighs, Stilettoscot, Maximillian, Happyfeet, and JeffB plus others may say, it is HARD for most guys to get over the hill of wearing heels and especially as it seems to be all about wearing of stiletto heels which our programming tells us is either pervy or fetishy and its a real mind game to get a stiletto heel to the fashion for man thing. It is so much easier with a cuban heel though.

I've been there and I am so glad I found 7cm cuban heels in a mens range from Archie Eyebrows. I wear heels ALL the time. They are stable, strong, sufficiantly high ehough to know you are wearing heels, and get nothing but positive remarks from both women and men. What I would like is to have them made in 8cm, 9cm, or even 10cm. I will have to drop Terry de Havilland an email about this.

BTW, if a 9cm or 10cm cuban heeled zippered ankle boot (Lenny) http://www.archieeyebrows.co.uk/collection.htm who would be interested? I might as well know. BTW, the price n the website is wrong. It isnt £240, its £175. Sure its steep, but over half the price of my Avatar Johnny boots. They are full leather and properly made by craftsmen. Worth every penny.

But whatever heel you choose to wear, do NOT try to hide it all under your trousers/pants. It looks so tacky to have the hem of the trousers/pans dragging on the floor. You only hide it because you are not confident enough to wear the shoes. Gain confidence in lower/cuban/block heels 3" high first. You will be so surprised how quickly you will find you wear them wilt the heels in view. Save stilettos for evenings and fun times just as the ladies do.

It took me a long time to find my comfort zone and the heels I was happy to wear. You could take this as me saying I don't like stiletto heels. nothing could be firther from the truth. I do not see why men cannot wear them if they want to. The man may not look good in them, but that should not mean they shouldn't wear them. I would lke to incorporate them into my wardrobe, but right now it is something I am not ready to do and maybe I never will (dressed as a man anyway) but I am happy to be using mens cuban heeled boots and also womens heeled boots with thicker heels and no fine pointy toes either as often as I wish (my SO refers to these boots as my dyke boots).

BR, glad you found some my post useful. Its not about finding a suitable town/city to heel in, rather it is about finding your comfort zone in what you are preparred to wear and have others see you wear. That will become your baseline. People soon get used to wearing heels and once that is done, and your confidence is sorted, then you can add variety and start selecting from the female side to add spice.

But whatever you wear, enjoy it.

    Simon.

It is a mental hurdle but by extending your comfort zone you can get over it. It's very much about extending your comfort zone. It's very clear from my pant length I'm in heels. I look & feel good in 'em -- and it shows in my attitude & confidence.

  17. Reactions ranged from: grins and "they're just shoes," "no way -- Really??," I bet ya $50 you can't walk in stilettos?" [he lost:silly:], "Dude, that's weird,""Are ya Gay?" " What ever floats yer boat," "WHY??," " Do you wear skirts & dresses too?", "Man, you look GOOD in heels," "Do heels hurt?," "That's just crazy," "You have guts," "Why stiletto boots?," "You just want attention," .....
