  1. Assuming, as has been explained by others, this is purely on visuals, in order: Smile, Shoes, Face, Whole outfit, Hair, and then, if I'm entirely honest, Bust. So the first look, is definitely face, to see if she is smiling. Of course, if the first view is from behind, it's shoes.

  2. I have no idea, that's why I'd like to know if anyone else can id them. If this lady has some, I guess they are available. I didn't speak to her, probably wouldn't have even if she hadn't been with a bloke! I would guess the heels were about 6" and the platform about 1".

  3. My first ever pics. I had to, these were incredible: Sorry about the image quality. No time to zoom on the first pic, moving train for the second one. The sole had that wrong way slope at the front that Tributes have, and though you might not be able to tell, these are definitely shoes rather than boots. I love the fleecy lining, they look so comfortable! Can anyone id them?

  4. I saw it last night, and it's even more of a heel-fest than the first one. Both Gwyneth and Scarlett Johansson's characters wear many different pairs of fabulous shoes and the camera does a good job of getting them just in frame without making it look obvious! I'm guessing Jon Favreau is a heelfan.

  5. Both of those are fabulous. I really like this new trend where the upper goes right over the platform so it is hidden. It won't work with too high a platform though, which is a good thing because I'm not a fan of too much platformage.

  6. This is one thing I've often wondered about. You see, I really hate the look of feet, can't stand them, I think they look absolutely ugly, even my own which are actually a fairly regular shape. I'm only not wearing something on my feet if I am in bed, in the shower or between the two. I think this is one of the reasons I love shoes so much. Standard mens shoes for myself (I have 15 pairs in regular use and another five or so in reserve, and not one of them is a pair of trainers, I haven't owned any trainers since I was 19 and I plan never to do so again.), and good quality shoes, ideally heels on women but never sandals of any type, just horrible. The absolutely worst thing is when women wear sandals that are too small or their feet are the wrong shape and their toes hang over the front, ghastly. Even typing this makes my skin crawl. Actually maybe its toes I have a problem with as I quite like the look of slingbacks. So am I the only one, if so I'm surprised, because so many shoe websites also cater for lovers of feet and I just can't look at them!

I think there's a few good topics in my particular tastes so we'll leave the rest for later!

  8. Hello everybody. I've been lurking for a few days since discovering this place and so I thought I ought to take the plunge. I'm looking forward to chatting with you all as you all seem very friendly. I expect I'll take a while to start posting regularly as I like to take things slowly. Anyway I'm now off to reply to that 'about me' thread I saw on one of my earlier surfs. See you later.
