  1. Today on campus, a lady in a nice black business suit and skirt had on 3" or 3.5" black stilettos with a slightly long pointed toe.

    WOW.

Quite a few other sightings, lots of slightly thick blade heels on boots these days... I'm actually surprised to see so many boots, as it's still summer here in Southern California... also, the cork platform wedge has mostly disappeared. I'm not complaining, although I did like them, as boots this season should be darned good looking!

As usual, car shows still have plenty of footwear, too. (this particular show was about the cars, I don't know why this girl got all dressed up...)

  2. Hmm. Quite a few combinations of sandals, wedges, wood, and cork on campus at the moment. Also, surprising numbers of ~3" boots too- given the hot weather around here that's a big surprise. Nothing exceptional has been sighted this week, although the week IS only half over...

  3. As much as I throughouly enjoy seeing women in heels... I admit I wonder why people wear them sometimes. Most often on campus at school; especially if you know you're going to spend all day walking between classes. Not that I mind when they wear heels, of course.

  4. Clubbing again tonight. Lots of platforms- both "flat" platforms of 1~2" and wedge or heels with platforms. Mostly chunky, not too many boots or stiletto heels. A few sandals, but very little with a stiletto. The way home was a nice sighting though. Driving by a 24 hour fast food joint, parked on the side of the road two girls were running between two cars in 4" stiletto sandals. Ruined only because they shouldn't even have bothered to try running in them...

  5. Mmm. Spring quarter has started here in Los Angeles and while the weather is crummy, I'm seeing lots of 3~4" spike heeled boots with pointed toes. I actually don't care too much for the toes- they're all too long and just seem like too much for class and buying books and stuff. Mid-calf ankle boots with thick heels and a 0.5~1" platform have disappeared along with winter. In their place is thin-soled, more shapely boots with a medium-thickness blade heel... 2~3" most of the time. Not bad. A few funny wooden wedges, 4" high with a platform, too. They're okay- too weird for me, as I prefer a simple wedge heel or even better, a slim or stiletto heel. Most annoying sighting today: a girl obviously wearing 3~4" wedges, but her jeans litterally touched the ground. Couldn't see them at all.

  6. I wouldn't say they've doubled or tripled in popularity here in Southern California, but the number of 2.5~3.5" boots over the winter was pretty obvious- it was a lot! As spring approaches, there still aren't many spike or stiletto heels, or even wedges/platform wedges. A few more to be sure- especially when on the town or at clubs, but nothing in great numbers yet. However, it's not yet April. My first 5" stiletto sandals sighting- with minimalist straps- at the beginning of the month was a NICE surprise!

  7. Out in K-town (Korean town) in Los Angeles tonight... saw a very nice looking Korean girl in what looked like 5" sandals with a straight, narrow block heel, a single strap across the toe and a single strap across the ankle. Very, very sexy and among the highest heels I've seen in months- especially without a platform!

  8. Grocery shopping in Los Angeles today, what looked like a fellow college student in a tight longsleeve top, tight jeans w/boot-cut legs, and 4" wedge platforms with two thick straps across the front. The legs didn't cover the entire shoe, either- barely reached down to the top of the heel. Couple of other sightings, usually boots with a chunky heel or 3~4" wedge platforms on campus. Wedge platforms usually seen with jeans... boots vary.

  9. Part of the 18-25 set right now in college. As it's winter-- but a California winter-- heels in both boots and sandals are still seen. Among daily wear, lots of ankle-high boots, 1~3" heels are most common. Not too many knee-high boots. Block heels, some a little more narrow. Not too many blade or stiletto heels or pointed toes. A few girls still wear sandals, often with blade heels; more often they're wedge platforms up to 4" high. Yummy! (I believe Steve Madden had some very nice 4" ones for sale over the last year or more. I love seeing them) Parties, bars, etc. anything goes. Highest heel is usually 3.5" or so, rarely above 4" unless there's a good-sized platform. Knee high boots are much more common, as are stilleto sandals.
