It should be noticed that some Payless stores carry no size 13 at all, while other branches have dozens of styles in 13. You can check the stock in specific stores in the internet. From experience I know the branches in Fulton st. brooklyn NYC have very large collection..

Nice loafers, RonC! A style I would wear if I could get them in my size UK11.
And, on the basis that neither the camera nor the steel rule can lie, you have there a pair of shoes with impressive 355mm heels!
Puffer, 4" heels are just 101.2 mm and not 355mm. The 355 reading is from the other edge of the ruler.

I think the rule of "+2 for women sizes compared to men sizes" is a myth, especially in large sizes.
I wear men sizes of 13 (sometimes 12Wide), and I manage very well in shoes that are women 13.
So I think you will manage well in women 13, and those are easily found in Payless shoes and Nordstrom rack.

Its probably my own problem, but looking at these pictures I feel a dissonance. I tried to understand the origin of my feeling and I think it comes from the huge difference between the very feminine body with very masculine head. May be its because i'm not used to the look ? So, its very daring but not my taste. ET

My wife would probably be happy if it will disappear altogether. But, over some years she got used to it, and once even went with me to Avenue shop and we bought a pair of hh shoes for me . I try not to embarrass her, wear them only at home and not every day. I think that it helped that she understood that it has nothing to do with sexual preference (I am totaly hetro), and that I still love her after many years of marriage. So the best description is: she knows and tolerates it, I am not sure that "approves" really fits the situation.

I find the "personal dairy" threads most interesting, especially describing the interaction with other people. I will be sorry if they will be removed from the board.

Love your taste in shoes...

The bottom strap in the picture you included is adjustable. Just release the back part of it. You tighten by pulling the free edge and release by undoing it a little. ET

Avenue (women shoes and closing, large sizes) have very nice selection. Almost all new models go to 13W. At the end of the season only a few are left. You can also check them in the internet. There sizing tend to be a little larger then the others.

Avenue.com have a nice wedge booties. Usually they run to 13W but now its end of season so the largest they have is 11:sad:

High Heel-lover,Hi All,
I am so glad to be able to slip my feet into some lower heels! My feet are killing me!!
I live in Christchurch, NZ where that earthquake has recently struck. At the time I was wearing my usual sort of stuff, stiletto heels and pencil skirt suit, because it was a big nite out following a late night work and completion of a large contract we were still out when the Earthquake struck.
I worked (fixing telecoms/ net acess) since the quake struck for another 24hrs, then couldn't get home due to roading damage/ flooding and closures of areas by military for safety reasons, and finally got home today! I had to sleep/ shower at an emergency centre and spent the entire time in one set of clothes!
My shoes are almost worn out on the soles, the heels are ground down, my feet are really killing me from 3 days of non-stop heeling in a war zone of loose bricks, broken tiles, mud, sand, silt etc...I have what looks like many chill blaines and an ingrown big-toenail now and my knees are sore!!
It was embarrassing having to climb around with my skirt hitched up so I could get me knees over things! (I'm glad I had a full leg wax the week prior). I was grateful and also embarassed to be carried out of a area that had sludge build up around it - because of my attire. Before anyone gives me a hard time about not taking my shoes off - there was glass and ceramic shards everywhere!! You can't go around barefooted!
I didn't always - but will from now on - always carry a pair of flat scrunches or similar shoes (that crush up small) in my handbag with me, just in case!
Luckily my suburb (a little bit out of town) is completely unscathed, so except for a wrecked pair of heels, and temporarily smashed toes I'm really fortunate.
Cheers
Heel-Lover
I hope you are O.K. and that the current earthquake left you unharmed.
How are things around you in Christchurch ?

My wife hates it, and would be happy if the whole issue would disappear. On the other hand she got used to see me at least once a week in heels. After many years of marriage, she wouldn't make a fuss about it. I call it unhappy acceptance. I didn't vote since none of the categories apply.

This site is so busy dealing with the trouble men have when they want to wear high heels we tend to forget that women have some problem too... BTW: Try Fredrick of Holywood they have some nice sandals size 13
-
Men who like women in heels - thats probably the norm. (soft porn channels like playboy always have their starlets with high heels because they want to attract more viewers). Men wearing heels themselves - thats another issue. probably most of them keep it secret fearing adverse response, so there is no way to get good statistic until the social climate will change.

I think the results are a biased sample. Those who go in public with their high heels in are more open about it and probably most of them vote, but those who avoid public appearance are more discrete and many of them avoid a public declaration by voting. Just my 2 cents.

Leaving aside wishful thinking, in a group of 100 people in the street 99 would answer these are women shoes.
