  1. Having to choose between life and heels like the ones you have in your avatar is a no brainer. Like you first chose, it's the heels. Be brave and hug them tight as you exit the plane. You're going to need them later for walking, hooking a fish, or some other need for survival.

Ahh good point! Thinking back to the last time I saw Castaway, I can think of so many things that would've been easier for Tom Hanks if he had only had a pair of heels!

I'm still wondering where I can get a pair like them. I may need them in order to survive my plane trip.

I'll have to get my husband's attention to this thread... he's the one who bought them for me. :w00t2:

Sounds ok providing you don't hook the spike heel and go tumbling down the inflatable ramp. And even if you survive that, being accosted by the survivors on the ground after the ramp is deflated (by the spike heel) trapping their acquaintances and loved ones!

I am still LOLing at this visual. Just one more reason not to wear heels on my flights.

But another take on all this would be, you me and all the other heel wearers on the flight could have a quick little vote take heels or not? I think all of us led by Amanda would be stuffing our heels in the life jackets. Except for a bunch that might be wearing lace up knee/thigh boots which means just go as is anyways! Problem solved let all of us just go with heels!

I say if the airlines are catering to the obese by allowing them two seats on a flight... they can cater to us by making the rafts out of something that won't deflate to begin with.

And on that topic... doesn't anyone question the safety of said rafts if a heeled shoe is a danger?

  2. I've been going over Tinkerbell's posting and I'm leaning more to the principles of equality she espoused. Even though I welcome any one's opinion in this FOR THE GUYS thread, her point of equal treatment is one to be considered. I am aware of the rehashing of this subject has been done to the Nth time, but perhaps we should treat the guys with the same respect that the girls are getting in their FOR THE GIRLS thread posting, whether the guys deserve it or not. Leaving the thread FOR EVERYONE to be posted into by both girls and guys. If a guy or gal wants to receive the opinion of the other, then the FOR EVERYONE thread seems the appropriate place to comment under equal forum rules. This way our members won't feel they are being punished by prejudicial rules due to human classification.

I want to thank you for this post because I believe you truly got the point I was so desperately trying to make. It was simply from a point of view of equality. I have seen way too many situations on forums and generally in life where setting a rule for only one classification of people turns bad. It's simply a question of how to maintain the "no labels" and "accepting all opinions" ideals of this forum.
  3. That's very fair of you, but most guys actually understand why it is this way, for us it can be a fetish and as such certain individuals can get very predatory. For the ladies it's just an interest, and we value their opinions greatly.

So to make sure I understand, is the logic that heels are a "girl" thing so that's why it's ok for us to post all over the site? If so is the logic further that girls need a "safe haven" to get away from male predators? I dunno to me that makes it seem like it's a question of normal vs. abnormal which would definitely be against what we should all believe here... being accepted. I'm sure that's not what you're saying but I hope you can see where I got that.

I'm not a forum moderator so as Dr. Shoe really said, this is how it is and how it will always be. I just feel when you set rules for only some people but not others you're setting yourself up for problems and misunderstanding. To me that's a discriminatory thing, and a label, two things that I think totally contradict this site's purpose. But... I understand that I may be reading into it a bit more than it was intended. This is simply an opinion.

  4. I'm going to be very honest... I voted no (and I'm a girl). Why? Well it's not fair to say guys can't post in the girl's forum but girls can post here. So my vote of no is because the rules haven't changed in ours. To me, if we're all to be able to post in either, why separate it to begin with? I say open it up, lose the "for guys" and "for girls" and just keep the everybody. Otherwise, if you want to keep the two separate sections, I'd say those sections are for those sexes only. Things need to be fair across the board or problems happen.

  5. On a recent flight, I noticed something in the Safety Information card (in the pocket in front of me) that I just had to share here.

So I guess this means, unless you want to possibly be forced to toss your gorgeous pair of shoes in the trash in case of an emergency, and go barefoot, don't wear heels on your flights! :w00t2:

  6. I've had the compliment and the "look". Since all my compliments come from coworkers they are usually shielded a bit with sarcasm or humor. For instance one day when wearing my red high heels to work I had a guy say "Look, Jenn thinks she's Kelly Pickler today." I said it was humor... not good humor. :winkiss: Sometimes I'll get the "you look nice today" compliment. I can never tell if those come on days where I truly look nice or when I'm showing more cleavage than usual though. Still, all those compliments mean nothing to me... sure they are a little ego boost but there is nothing like getting a similar compliment from your own husband.

  7. Not to totally change the subject but those are some nice high heels shown in the video.

Ironically that was supposed to BE the subject of this thread. LOL

I'm wanting to know if anyone knows where to find the heels she's wearing in the Limo scene. Anyone?

  8. Just an update on this... I would highly recommend not shopping with Dimout. After the above update from my DH, I called and left a message for the woman who runs the store (Kim) and sent an email telling her how absolutely unacceptable it was that we received a form email stating the boots were on backorder less than 24 hours after being told they were shipping today. I laid it all out and told her how disappointed I was and requested a refund. You'd THINK a reputable company would then respond back with some sort of apology but all I got was this: "Yes it has been canceled and credited back. It takes 2 to 4 business days to go back on your card from our bank. You should see that back on your card by monday." Will NEVER shop with them again.

  9. I look SO forward to autumn/winter so I can pull out my calf-high leather boots and start wearing them. I wear them under jeans/slacks but I also pair them up with a knee length skirt for some fun. Sooo cute. I just wish it were easier to find boots that fit me well.

  10. Love love love my PedEgg! There's no doubt it makes heels more comfortable to wear heel wise but I'll tell ya, it's funny, I have noticed that in a few spots on my feet the rough skin almost makes it more comfortable to wear my heels. Like on the top of my pinky toe for sure. If I get that skin soft it just hurts the next day I put the shoes on. LOL!
