  1. I agree....and I must apologise for not including you in my list. I was unaware that your company actually existed when I originally posted.

For those of you here unfamiliar with www.estresmodes.com they are a small specialist Spanish shoe maker, owned by Pablo Beneit who is a 3rd generation craftsman and he undertakes all the company's production except where specialist outside service providers such as stylists; pattern makers; sole, heel and platform makers are used.

He has in his collection the most comprehensive range of high heel styles; from basic court shoes in 4, 5 1/2, and 7 inch heels through ballet boots, drag queen boots to some of the most extreme fetish styles available. He is also able to make bespoke footwear; including the production of individual customer "lasts" and personalised styles.

When time permits Pablo is in demand for his technical and practical shoe making skills assisting other enterprises within the Alicante footwear industry. I have enjoyed working with him developing my own small range over the past 2 years and look forward to closer cooperation with a view to giving his expertise a wider audience beyond his native Spain.

  2. ...but would hate the thought of appearing in a local newspaper so that the sponsors could get their publicity.

I doubt whether anyone would baulk at paying £5 for a good meal. That is the sort of price we're looking at.

What you so instantly dismissed as an idea, without further debate, was to be an offer of sponsorship that could have involved the following:

Estresmodes and Omano to finance the food; (upto £5 per person).

Provide complimentary drinks and show a full range of samples for members to view and try on.

Local newspaper appearances were never part of what we considered appropriate.

  3. Probably imported into the UK by Kidderminster Footwear,City Shoes or Arrk Footwear from China. Indeed relatively well made for their Wholesale price of £7.99 + VAT per pair; I think any of you admitting to paying anything than more than say £25 have been taken for a ride!

  4. I second that Mikeheel; my friends and relatives feel quite let down if I am not wearing a pair of 5 inch cuban heels; however the other day when in southern Spain a mate of mine did say " you are never going out in those" ; referring to my red and yellow 7 inch platform western boots. Meanwhile his wife was full of encouragment. Pleased to say, she won the day!

  5. me thinks the lady doth protest too much ! It beggars belief; you want the shoe makers to take on board what your members have been asking for regarding sizeing and styling and all you can do is make false claims against one of them.Yes there are 2 sides to any story;from what I have seen of correspondence prior to September 2008 "High Heel Factory" supplied your friends Gina and Gerhard Luther at Elite shoes.High Heel Factory shoes were made by a number of suppliers, therefore the assumptions you have made are unjust. In fact the only direct dealings with Elite and taconxxl were when an order was placed by Elite, a proforma invoice raised then followed by no payment;so it comes as no surprise that when Elite again appraoched taconxxl more recently (strange one would think ,if your side of the story stacks up) taconxxl declined any involement and I know his decision was partly based on your irresponsible comments.

  6. Edmondsean Having followed this forum on and off for the past couple of years ; I agree with you that to avoid ridicule from non high heel fans, high heels for "men" need to be more "masculine" in appearence compared with the present offerings.I believe there is a genuine following among men for higher heels, but not the styles that would begin to pigeonhole them into social groups that they could be uneasy with. In my own experience wearing chunky/western/platform/retro heels between 4" and 7" have almost without exception brought nothing but admiring comments from both women (my wife ,her friends and family included) and broadminded heterosexual men.I accept that there is a time and place to participate in one's passion ; eg , i would not wear heels at functions where my wife was at work or situations that obviously demanded a certain protocol. However a night out with friends and family, shopping, cinema, holidays, travelling etc.; high heels every time. Who knows, in time, men in heels may become accepted fashion, but as it has been shown in the past, it needs several men in the public eye to set the trend but sadly most of todays male celebs lack the balls to be fashion pioneers ; they seem content to stick with earings, piercings, tattoos and ever changing hair styles. Anyway it is up to us who are already street heeling to carry on regardless ; stomping through Sainsbury's on a Saturday wearing 5" western boots feels just so so good.
