  2. Hi all,

I am wearing high heels on a daily basis since almost 10 years now and can count the number of times being asked about them with my fingers. When in office I really draw more attention when I do NOT wear heels - I think the colleagues expect me to wear them.

The nicest experience recently was in a supermarket though. I wore ankle boots with 8cm block heels and a stranger approached me asking whether these are in fashion again and where I got them because he wanted to check for himself.

  4. I am doing this since 5 yrs now, although I am not wearing the gierliest styles when visiting my parents. My father does not understand but keeps quiet about it. He commented only once stating that he does not understand and he thinks I was just crazy. My mother was concerned that I was gay - which I am definitely not ( I have no idea why wearing high heels should make a guy gay). She always tries to convince me to stop heeling - I guess because she fears the reaction of other people towards her. I suspect that in her eyes I am spoiling her image. I am really sad about my impression that the image she is believing to represent in her environment seems more important than a heartfelt contact to her son.

  5. I guess that I have a total of around 20 pairs (8-15cm high) and a set of maybe 10 favorites out of which I pick for daily wear to work etc. My wife has mayby twice as many as me but that's mostly due to the fact that it is difficult to find styles that I like in my size (EUR 42) whereas she takes a EUR 37. I whish we had the same size!

  6. I also bought a pair of boots from them last year and ordered them in my usual (for men's shoes) size EUR 42 with respect to the experience that most 41's and 42's (shoes marketed to women) I bought in the past were rather small. When they arrived, I found that I could have ordered them in 41 without problems - they are on the large side. I even needed a gel insole, but on the plus side I now have boots that I can wear with thicker socks when it is really cold outside.

  7. @raymond.nl: You have a pm @DDWW: When being asked by collegues, I usually tell them that I simply like wearing heels (which is the truth). Once I told that I wear them because my wife took my hiking boots and could not find any other shoes at home :) --softmover

  8. Ok, here are my answers: 1. I am software developer in the Air Traffic Control sector 2. 80% men 20% women 3. I just showed up in heels one day 4. Mostly no reaction of all, two co-workers asked my why I was wearing heels, the secretary (woman) sometimes makes me show my footwear to her 5. I did not notice any acceptance problems 6. I am doing it for three years now 7. I started with block heels (~8cm), often wear boots with stacked or block heels, sometimes stilettos (right now for example - see attachment) when the wheather is now too hot. This summer I sometimes wore sandals. Heel heights vary from 8 to 12cm but mostly 10cm. The workplace has never been a problem, but since I am traveling by train (packed by pupils in the mornings/afternoons) the way to/from work is sometimes challenging. PS: I know the picture is a bit crappy but my mobile won't do much better -softmover

  9. Hello saudade I thought I was the only HH wearer that is also into rock climbing - you proved me wrong. So I whish you happy climbing apart from happy heeling. Ah - to stick to the topic: 173cm / 72kg (and for you: 5.12b max) Cheers, Holger

  10. Hi all,

I know that this is not exactly matching the topic, but I wonder If any of you could help me. I found these http://www.aldoshoes.com/uk/clearance/womens-shoes/heels/69617340-frimeli/97 at Aldo's which I would really like to have as replacement for my pair of street heels that are totally worn out. Unfortunatelly, I had to learn that they do not ship to Germany. My question now would be: Is there any UK fellow heeler willing to help me in a way that I could make them ship to him and he would forward them to me. Of course, I would pay (in advance) for shipment from UK to Germany.

So in case any of you is willing to help me, I would very much appreciate if you sent me a pm.

    regards,

  11. Last week when I was shopping in a local supermarket I had my first sight of a man wearing what looked like 4" wedge heels. Unfortunatelly I was just checking out when he entered the market, otherwise would have talked to him. I am really glad that my assumption to be the only man wearing heels publicly in my town (around 50000 inhabitants in southern Germany) prove to be wrong. Hope to see him again.

  12. I did this quite a few times over the past two years. I flew from Zurich to London and back several times wearing 4" boots under my jeans. My experience during these trips are that airports are a very comfortable environment for heeling. I never had any negative comments and rarely stares. However, passing security is a bit of a rush: Do they want one to take off the heels or not? Once, they send me back through the detector because the heels set it to alarm. In this case you can be certain of the attention of the other people in the queue behind you :). To sum it up, I really can recommend travelling in heels. -softmover

  13. Hi marhil711, I actually wore the 'Gierlie_2' model to the office two weeks ago. I received some (unfortunatelly negative) reaction on my way to the office, but none at all while working. They do run small - I bought them in EU42 which is my normal guy shoe's size. They are smaller than the most 41 heels I have. -softmover

  14. Throughout the whole winter I also have worn 4" brown boots with a stacked heel (not Cowboy style however) under jeans to work. At the beginning, i got some looks from co-workers but eventually, they all get used to it. Interestingly, meanwhile I sometimes get questions when I turn up to work NOT wearing heels. I think that almost everybody is able to get used to the look of a man in heels, however, for most of the people this requires a mental process of thinking. Imho this process takes time and cannot be accomplished by once seeing a man in heels quickly passing by on the street. It's like with children: they learn through repetition :winkiss: So let's give them input to kick off the learning process. -softmover
