Has anyone ever managed to track down where you can get those red boots with the chrome heel and tip in Stellah's posting from 22nd Jan? Looked everywhere I can think of (which is quite a few places) with no joy!!!!!

Whether I could actually WALK very far in them is another matter, although I did 3 hours in my 5.5" spike heel ankle boots under jeans in Manchester the other weekend... no I'm not very brave, it was an 'adult' event and I doubted anyone would think twice about it.. well a couple of the girls did - the 'I could never wear anything that high' brigade... A couple of lads got a bit offensive - but they had BIG bouncers so no trouble!! Felt good too - and meant I could see over everyone's heads..... yes another 6-footer! Next step in increasing bravery is pluck up the courage to 'do' the Trafford Centre in Manchester for a shopping trip - but in something a bit flatter I think, may have to 'slum it' with 4" non-stilettos for that!

By the way : if anyone gets 'picky' I found 'so how many of your girl friends wear trainers' was a good response ...

Another one for your diary Boys, Girls and in-betweenies! One big fetish blow-out at Earls Court, London over 3 days. Not the cheapest to get into (£17.50), but I've been to the last 3 and it's well worth the trip if only for the stage acts and eye-candy! No-one gives a damn what you wear (whatever you can think of, there'll always be someone more outrageous), the floors are nice and smooth - so no problems for those 7" heels - and you can buy just about anything you can think of - footwear or anything else!! Oh yes - if you don't want to totter down there in your best Italian stilettos and bondage skirt (or whatever), there's changing rooms this year... and prizes for best-dressed male and female too See you there - I'll be the one in the 6" Bronx boots and the corset... or maybe I'll dig out the thigh-boots instead Martin

Yes I saw the pic... and read the follow-up article in the Mail the following day. Personally I think Liz Hurley's overdone the 'slimming-down' a bit, but that's just personal preference and more power to her elbow (instep?) for doing a photo shoot like this. Two thoughts that immediately crossed my mind after the article were :- 1. Newspaper editors who think anyone can just slip on a pair of ballet heels WITHOUT them hurting like hell knows nothing at all about high-heel fashion - but then that's to be expected I guess. 2. Although there must be people who can walk in these all day (not including me I'm afraid) - he missed the point somewhat. IMHO most people who buy these have NO intention whatever of wearing them further than getting to the bedroom.... or don't get the chance to!! Look, newspaper people - they're fun, fetish shoes for the broad-minded so get off our case... :x Oh Ok - I'm just jealous cos I can't get into heels like that Martin

This topic seems to have been quiet for a while - but thought I'd chuck my three penn'orth in anyway! One advantage of having big feet (I'm A UK 9 / US 11 or thereabouts) is that the higher heel sizes get easier - well, relatively easier anyway! What I've found personally is that a heel that is virtually impossible in one make of shoe is manageable in another. For example, I have a pair of true 6" heel court shoes that I can just about totter along in, but I have 2 pairs of boots (ankle and calf length) with exactly the same heel height that I can wander around in quite happily all day without even getting sore calves... I don't know what it is about the differing designs - maybe its that the boots give a bit of added stability? I think the moral is : don't give up if the first pair of ultra-high heels you try on are impossible to even stand in, experiment with different makes and styles and maybe you'll find all of a sudden the impossible becomes possible! Incidentally - I can't remember which one it is but there is at least one manufacturer who varies the heel height in accordance with the shoe size to keep the overall style constant.... the downside is that on one pair I really like, the heel height in my size worked out at the famous 7" - which I know for a fact I can't manage (yet?)... apart from in the bedroom anyway!
