  1. I don't think I would, because as roz said, I would feel like a fraud, even though I don't actually tend to care about labels. That said, had Louboutin become known for hot pink soles, I'd probably feel differently and be buying any good looking copies I could get my hands on, so I'm not sure which way to vote!!

  2. I wish I had the space for my shoes!! At the moment, mine are on some shelves in my room, mostly, although some are in a crate in the hall (mostly flats/ trainers/ work boots), and there are a couple pairs under the sofa from where i've kicked them off drunk! I think we're meant to be putting up a couple of extra shelves for mine.

  3. I personally see no appeal in them, especially the price tag. Like the other pair of heel-less heels, I feel I could walk in them with practice, but I can't really see myself bothering. If my boyfriend were to express a desire to see me in them- and buy them for me- I would absolutely learn to wear them, but I can't really see him liking them either.

  4. Firstly- one of the things I love about this place is that the women here embrace their femininity. I'm getting a bit fed up of some of the "feminists" I've had to deal with later that are basically turning themselves into mini-men and then telling me off for being girly (yes, I realise, not all feminists are like that, just the ones I've encountered recently). But to the actual topic: I don't think men can ever actually steal femininity from us. Yes, I have encountered some transvestite/transgendered individuals who I sometimes feel make extremely good women, however I don't think most men who wear heels are aiming to be feminine- unless you boys want to tell me otherwise? I think the majority of feminine attributes are ingrained as part of being female, and so men would have to work awfully hard to "steal" them.

  5. Well, ballets are my ultimate goal, although I'm starting with something a little lower just to get myself back into the habit of wearing heels daily as opposed to only when I go on nights out (which just seems to be less and less these days). I've seen a fair few ballet heel videos on Youtube, although I will have another look- thanks!

  6. At the moment I work as security staff in a bar/nightclub, but once we have the shop up and running I'm planning on starting my own retro clothing line. I currently make some of my own clothes (sewn and knitted) and jewellery, as well as baking, does that count? I'd love to do something more artistic, but I can't draw to save my life!!

  7. here you go this is where i bought them from male/female sizes, im normally a size 7 in female shoes but had to have a size 8 as they come up smaller in

    this design

my girlfriend thinks they to high 4.5inch ,she wont let me have higher ones:sad: http://www.mfretail.co.uk/acatalog/Mens_Sizes.html

WHAT?!? Get her spoken to, that's crazy!! My boyfriend is planning on wearing enormous heels for Hallowe'en, and granted, it's a special occasion, but his footwear is his choice, and if he wanted to wear them into my work, tonight, I would let him!(then again, they do call him Marilyn Manson, so i suppose they wouldn't be surprised)

  8. You have my upmost respect for the determination you must have to quit smoking. The easier answer with things like brownies is just not to have that sort of thing in the house :santa_hat:

You long before you get to order your Ballet Boots?

My boyfriend works a six day week, I have to have stuff in the house for him, I'd feel like Satan incarnate if I didn't!! If I could get away with it, I would actually just have fruit and veq, fish and brown rice in the house, and just buy in anything else as and when I needed it, but as it is I need to make sure he doesn't waste away to nothing!

And as to the Ballets, I need to loose three stone in total before I can wear them, but I'll be ordering them once I've lost two- so I've ordered the 5" heels that I can't wear till I've lost 1 stone, there'll be some 6" ordered once I reach that6 that I once again can't wear till I've lost 2, and then I'll order the ballets. Although I may just take pictures of them and make my boyfriend keep them at his work so I'm not tempted before I'm allowed them!!!

  9. Thanks Nigel, that's an awesome idea, and I definitely will as soon as things are a little further advanced- right now we're still in the very early planning stages!

Why not drop Richie a PM, he hosts the website I use for work and could help you get some decent page rankings with google, msn and yahoo. It works quite well in my case and I even come out higher than some companies that turn over millions every year. ( I dont ).

Its only going to cost you the price of a decent pair of boots and a bit of your time.

Anyway, it was just a thought.

    Nigel.

  10. Thankyou to all of you, for the well wishing, advice etc. BB_in_heels: I have a lot of self motivation and willpower, I quit smoking a year ago purely on willpower, but I think it will be harder with food- especially as I tend to bake brownies and stuff for my boyfriend to take to work with him, and having stuff in the house makes it a lot harder to resis, but not allowing myself new shoes unless I loose the weight is gauranteed to keep me at it (especially as I just ordered 3 pairs of 5" stiletoes that I'm not allowed to wear until I loose a stone (14lbs for the non-Brits)), because I will do almost anything for new shoes!!

  11. Johnieheel- Unfortunately I think it will be a while before we can hire anyone in, and my business partner and I are both female... although if we could get my boyfriend to step in that might work (and hers, once we've coerced him into wearing heels!)

Milan_Heels- A lot of helpful advice thee, thankyou! We know we can outprice local competitors, and we are putting some reasearch into web competition, and so far it's looking good. We are planning to try and gt everything in as broada range of sizes as possible, so that everyone has the same choice!

Bootking- I've mentioned elsewhere, my boyfriend does Rocky Horror shadow casting, and has gone out in full drag to a couple of events we've been to (including a transvestite Nazi hooker, which was just amazing, especially as people didn't feel they could object!!), plus is planning his Hallowe'en costume to involve big heels once again (we're goths, it isn't odd for us to plan this early, I swear), plus my business partner is dating someone somewhat height challenged and is trying to talk him into wearing heels so she can, so I don't think accepting will be an issue!

  12. Yea, but then I wuldn't have them to look forward to!! It's the old carrot and stick method, and it's one of the few ways I cvan get myself to stick to stuff, especially as my boyfriend is less than helpful in supporting my weight loss. Also, I don't think I could wear them to a boxing gym or a swing dancing class!!! I am getting a wobble board to work on my balance though... and a hula hoop, but thats just cos I miss having a hula hoop- although I can't help but feel that hula hooping, on a wobble board, in five inch stilletoes would be an acheivement... I'm going to try it!!!

  13. The Emo crowd will definitely not be our target market, but I do like the idea of having quite a relaxed and friendly environment- we thought about coffee but thought it might be offputting, especially if the smell sinks into the clothing!!

I think one of our main problems will be attracting the shyer customers- within my circle of friends I could use word of mouth to attract the more flamboyant crossdressers etc, but I think men who are less comfortable with other people knowing they wear heels, despite being one of the customer bases we're aiming for, are going to be harder to make aware of our business.

  14. Haha, my uniform is second-hand, and my shirt is an XL- the shoulder seams are practically at my elbows!! Thankfully new ones have been ordered, and I've asked for a medium- although even then they're still just basic polo-shirts, so there's no shape to them... I wonder what they'd do if I tailored it slightly in the waist? hmm...

I was thinking about getting some boots with a concealed heel (only about 2" max, I still need to be able to run about) if anywhere knows of somewhere that does them?

    *hugs*

yea i know the feeling, im friends with all the security guards at the place i work just about. they like to complain as well, specially about some of the unbelievably stupid policies we have, and trust me, we have plenty.. but i guess thats life.. i know one of the girls.. omg the uniforms just dont do her justice.
