  1. I echo the thoughts of Max and voted for Vegas in the spring. With the challenging economic climate and gaming revenue down, it is tough to find another place in the world where you can get such quality accomodations for the dollar spent. A hotel the same quality as the Bellagio, Mirage, Wynn or many others would cost way more in most places. So best bang for your buck! I get down there about 3 or 4 times a year, and most people wouln't care how you dressed or looked like if you are well mannered and willing to spend money. Was in Vegas this March and the weather was perfect. Also remembered hitting 4 sevens playing video poker. First time I ever won wearing thigh high boots (at the Gold Coast)! If the event is held in Vegas, I suggest anyone planning to go so up on line for a players card. I know with the Boyd Gaming Group, the B Connected card will get you 10% off your reservation if booked online. You can save enough to buy another pair of stilettos! Speaking of buying, people go to Vegas for two other great reasons other than gambling: shopping and dining out. Thats half the fun for me. And the values are great if you know where to look. Freshly shucked oysters for $1 each at Sea Blue at the MGM Grand during happy hour. How can you beat that?? Not to sound like a hypocrite, I am going to Vegas in Jan after the Christmas rush to decompress. But I go with the knowlege that I'll freeze my ass off and will be packing a toque and winter gloves. The trip I planned for April to attend Rockabilly Weekend will be a lot nicer, weatherwise. Anyhow, thats my two cents worth. And lucky for us Canadians, $1 Canadian is pretty close to one greenback. I still remeber the days a $5 bet was equal to $7.50 back home. Cheers! Lorenziluvrr

  2. Hello,

I just purchased a pair of boots from ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230422457594&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

The boots are well made, but not quite up to Gianmarco Lorenzi standards. The leather is butter soft on the exterior, and is also leather lined on the inside. Does not have the typical Lorenzi smell of new leather though. I would say a touch chemical-like. The boot shaft is build with a small extention to accomodate a slightly large calf. All in all, very comfortable for a boot with a 6 inch heel in a size 43 euro. The heel is a bit thicker than some of the Lorenzi pencil thin stilettos. As far as sizing is concerned, the 43 is Giohel is perfect for me whereas the Lorenzi is just a bit tighter.

    Hope this helps.

  3. mccar7hy - Hi, the black thigh high boots were 350 euro and the brown platforms were 200 euro. I know that seems like a lot of money, and it is, but I have set new guidelines for myself. When I was much younger, I bought many pairs of shoes and boots for way less money, but the quality just was not there. So my motto over the last 5 years is quality, NOT quantity. I buy mostly Lorenzi, Weitzman (Fever model), Jean Gaborit and Marziali now. For VALUE and choice in size 12 ladies, you cannot beat Nine West. Lorenzi and 1969 take sexiness, quality and craftmanship to new levels. The leather in Lorenzi and 1969 are tremendous. As soon as you open the box, the room is immediately permeated with that wonderful aroma of new kidsking leather. Cheap shoes have that chemical-like smell. These, are heavenly, and you can enjoy them with all your senses! 550 euros for 2 pairs of boots is an extravagance, but I feel like I am buying a wearable piece of art. I know these will probably never see pavement, because I'm afraid of damaging them. If I can wear them to a special event without exposing them to pavement, I might. For street heeling, Nine West is great. Chinese Laudry use to make a classic pair of 4 inch pumps in size 12, but I don;t see them anymore. I tried a pair, liked them so much, that I bought another 3 pairs before they disappeared. I just got the 1969 platforms today and wore them for 2 hours. Still not sure if they are my thing, but they are eye catching. As both pairs are leather lined, they feel great against your legs. They have a zipper at the ankle for easy on and off. Out of necessity, I wear nylons with these as they can become "sticky" and hard to get off if worn with fishnets. But I do love the feeling. The black thigh high boots have nice metal toe protectors on the sole (sorry, I don;t know the technical term) to minimize damage when you walk. With long pointed toe boots and shoes, it is easy to damage the toe area if you drag your feet a bit. Guess I need more practice and better balance. 1969 has a dream pair in red, stretch leather that are crotch high. My lord, they would be a dream. However, they are over 1,000 euro, and for that price, I can go to Italy. Cheers!

  4. Hi Everyone,

Have not posted for a year but I wanted to share this with the board. As my name suggests, I'm a huge fan of Gianmarco Lorenzi. I think they are responsible for the new "1969" brand that has recently appeared. Just got the two pairs of boots below:

The ebay store is called 1969 Italia Boutique. Fantastic quality, leather and workmanship. They do have larger sizes and can vouch that the 43 euros fit my size 12 mens feet like a glove.

The black thigh boots are to die for and have that beautiful, pointy toe and perfect angle for that ultra hot sexy look. The platforms are my first ever pair. Not sure what to think though. I like single sole shoes and boots as the look is alot "cleaner". They do make a stement though.

For the guys who are always on the lookout for designer shoes and boots in larger sizes, they carry up to 43 euro.

Just wanted to share my positive experience here. Best regards to all.

  5. Welcome nicko68! I too am a newbie poster to this forum, although I have lurked for a year or so before making my first contribution. As a general rule, I find the community helpful and welcoming. Hope your experiences here are positive. Like you, I have been an admirer of womens shoes and boots for as long as I can remember. Certainly makes life more exciting and interesting. Cheers for a like-minded "Canuck" Lorenziluvrr

  6. Hi Maximilian! & Mizterheel, Nice to see other fellow Canucks on the board. I am from Edmonton, Alberta, home of the Oilers hockey team, a big shopping mall, a few casinos and far too many days with bad weather. I agree with Max that Italian designs and craftmanship are tough to beat for sex appeal. A guy can go broke chasing the big designer names! Ahh well, thats the price we pay for our hobby. What neck of the woods do you hail from this big country of ours? Cheers! Lorenziluvrr

  7. Most comfortable and sexy? Hmm, a simple black, classic leather pump made by Chinese Laundry aptly named "Spicy". They have a pointed toe, 4 inch stiletto heel and are made of soft kidskin. Simple, timeless and classic. Wore them with nylons for 15 hours straight, including a 5 block walk on concrete sidewalks on my day off yesterday without any problems. They were so comfortable I purchased another two pairs from their website about 5 months ago. Last I checked, they no longer make them in size 12 US, so I got in under the wire. Cheers! Lorenziluvrr

  8. Very good question. Well, as my name would imply, my vote would go to Gianmarco Lorenzi. I love the look, quality and attainability. As a guy who has size 10M feet, I need well fitting 43 or 44 euro ladies to make life comfortable and functional. GML boots in 43 are perfect, 42 for certain models possible. For GML pumps, 43 as 42 is toe crushing. Jean-Gaborit from France has wonderful thigh high boots. I also love many models of Loriblu, Icone, Louboutin, Santa Cruz, Stuart Weitzman and Andriano Diaggi. For reasonably priced shoes, the hands down winner for me is Nine West. The choices for their sexy stilettos in size 12 is unbeatable! For mid-priced makers, I favour Italian Heels and Brazilian Orchid. Having said all that, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And thats waht makes life interesting. Cheers! Lorenziluvrr

  9. Thanks to all for a warm welcome. I'm preparing for a lengthy vacation so a digital camera is on my shopping list. Once I figure that puppy out, I'll post a few pictures of my GML killer heels to share. Seems like alot of people had a blast at the London Heel Meet. I'd sure like to check it out one day. You're right roniheels, street heeling is a huge adrenalin rush. The day of my first post on July 9 was the first time I went out in broad daylight. I wanted to do this before I made my first post, sort of like "paying your dues" to get membership. Went out to a crowded grocery store in 4" stiletto Stuart Weitzman knee high boots. Only comment was on the way home when a lady and her young son" snuck up" behind me with their bikes on the sidewalk. The woman just said "nice shoes". I thanked her and just kept clicking along my merry way. I would love to take a pair of my GMLs for a stroll, but I'm afraid the pavement would destroy the metal heel tips. They're just too beautiful to get scuffed and abused. Cheers! Lorenziluvrr

  10. Hi All, Long time reader, first time poster. Thanks to all for making this forum a validation of my "special interest". Many of the posters have been an inspiration to my outlook on wearing and enjoying high heels as a male. It is great to know that one is not alone and that there are others who share this passion! As my moniker implies, I am a huge fan of the designs of Gianmarco Lorenzi. His shoes and boots are the ultimate in design, sex appeal and wearability. I'm proud to say I own 5 pairs of boots and 3 pairs of shoes from this designer house. Ahhh, the sacrifices we make in pursuit of our desires! To all the street heelers out there who have the courage to be themselves, thanks for leading the way. "Damn the torpedoes and full speed ahead!" I look forward to following behind the wonderful sound of your heels! My others passions? Great wine, food, single malt scotch and travel, all designed to broaden ones horizons and help them see the world in a better way. Best Regards, Lorenziluvrr
