  2. I think that there are a number of items that work to help/hurt weight distribution. The comfort of the heel, at least as I have been told, does not always relate to expensiveness of the shoe. I've heard more complaints about expensive heels hurting than less expensive ones. That being said, it may also be an issue of the expensive heels are worn less often and thus not broken in as well, therefore not as comfortable as the well worn and maintained heel. I remember back in the 80s, heeled sandals were all the rage (I loved that time), but quite often the sole of the shoe was too thin to give any support. I saw quite a few of these sandals flexing in directions they should not have been. Also, the heel was not as well attached as they are today (lots of screws, with minimal penetration into the heel itself). One of the things that I think make a shoe more capable of being comfortable is the natural curvature of the foot from the ball to the heel. When the heel cup is out of place or at an unnatural angle, the shoe will be uncomfortable. When sufficient arch support is not present (quite often a really big issue), then the foot suffers. In a heel, the arch of the foot gets elongated and thus flattened slightly, but still present. The best heels have a gradual curve from the flat part where the toes go through the ball of the foot, plus a natural foot curve with good arch support from the ball of the foot to the heel, where the heel angles slightly down. As far as weight distribution is concerned, a higher heel will cause more weight on the toes and less on the heel. Good padding in both areas is critical to comfort. Well my two pennies anyway. sinkem

  3. I don't like either candidate.

Theres more then 2! Gary Johnson, Randal Terry.. if you look out there..

    http://2012-presiden...indthedata.org/

.. there is someone in-line with your views.

Instead of voting for the least you hold in contempt, vote with an honest conscious!

This is the biggest problem ' we the people ' have.

I can guarantee there are many people whom voted on the poll in this thread and did so KNOWING the selection they have chosen had some questions as to ' does this person really reflect my values and how things should be? '.

Go ahead and vote for those other people. When you do so, you actually give the advantage to the incumbent candidate. The last time we had a candidate that was not part of the Republican or Democratic parties was Ross Perot and he ended up imploding.

I'd also like to see executive greed and benefits get heavily taxed (even at 100%).

Wake up call for everyone : When you ( and others ) whom have made such a statement wind up paying MORE in taxes, you should be the first to silence yourself. Follow your own example. If you wish onto others something so unkind, expect it for yourself. The cry of ' those evil rich greedy 1%'ers.. ' are human beings, the same as you and I. Instead of being envious of someone else and their wealth, we should create our own. We should do for ourselves instead of crying foul about someone else.

How about a real wake-up call?

Executive salaries have been going up 25% per year for the last 25 years, where everyone else's has only gone up 2-4% per year. Percentage wise, I pay more in taxes than any millionaire/billionaire. We complain about raising taxes 2%, but have no problem telling teachers they have to take a 20% pay cut.

How about a one deduction tax? Take your total earnings, subtract the minimum national cost of living (for singles or a family of 3, depending upon whether you are married or not), then pay 20% tax on the remaining.

I can also fix social security by changing one item. Get rid of the earnings cap.

I have no problem paying my taxes. My problem has to do with how my tax dollars actually get used.

From what you have scribed in regards to companies and the rich and requiring US companies to stay here would follow an Isolationist type of system ( which I myself do support for the most part in ' theory ', not present thoughts of application though. ).

I'm not looking to be an isolationist. I have a problem with a company laying off people in the US, then hiring them in China or India, and then being able to take their salaries as a deduction on their taxes. Companies can still do this, just don't expect my tax dollars to help you at all. If it makes good business sense, then go ahead and do it. I'd also add that companies that do lay-offs cancel all bonuses for everyone for 3 years (and they cannot be deferred). If you have to do a layoff, then how can a bonus be justified.

Also, I would like to see military pay be tax free. These people are already putting their lives on the line for this country. In addition to this, military people, who come home with a life changing injury, have already paid enough. They shouldn't have to pay taxes anymore. And spouses that have lost a military loved one, have also paid the price, so no taxes for them either.

  4. One suggestion I have is that going from low heels to very high can be a huge challenge. My suggestion would be to do the following:

    • Using your highest low heels that you can wear for long periods of time, get a pair of heels that are about 0.5 inches (1.27cm) higher and wear them as long as you can, trying to extend the time you can wear them.
    • Repeat step 1 using the higher heels as the starting point, until you get to the heel height of the designer heels your boyfriend got for you.
While you are doing this, you can continue to wear the designer heels for your boyfriend (or even yourself). Good luck.

  5. I don't like either candidate. We have the choice between a rock and a hard place. I think Obama is wrong about how to improve the economy, government spending is not the answer. I think Romney has his own interests in mind and will do more for his friends and donors than the citizens of the USA. What we need is a candidate that will put the people of the USA first, requiring businesses to want to employ in the USA before anywhere else. I also think it is ridiculous to have employers pay an employment tax. I'd rather see a business income tax, where the only deductible is USA employee payroll and USA sourced materials/components. I'd also like to see executive greed and benefits get heavily taxed (even at 100%). Show me a candidate that looks for the same things, and I'll vote for him.

  6. Hi Ralfyguy, I've known a number of people who have sharpened metal heels to varying degrees. I have some replacement steel heels that are thin, thinner, and thinnest (read sharp). They are currently not in use, so if you want them I can make them available to you. We can work out the details if you are interested. Also, another way that I have made sharp heels (sharper anyway), is to take a pair of heels that have a plastic or metal heel tip that inserts into a metal tube in the heel itself. What I have done is to take a cement nail, cut it to length (usually so that it will protrude from 0.25" to 0.50"), then thin out the portion of the nail that will insert into the tube tightly. I try and make this as long as possible to distribute the forces as far up the heel shaft as possible. Cement nails are really strong and will keep a relatively sharp point for quite a while. They are also easily replaceable. Has anyone heard about or worn BZHeels? Another variation on the team, but a more stealthy one. sinkem

    Age: 49 (so far)

    Gender: Male

    Location: Upstate NY

    Occupation: Manager

    Height: 5' 11"

    Weight: 220 lbs

    Shoe size: 10.5M

Below are my responses about women's heels, which I generally do not wear, but like to see women wear.

What's your favorite heel style: stiletto (the thinner the better)

What's your favorite shoe style (in order): sandals, with a high ankle strap; slides; dorseys; open toe pumps; pumps; boots

Do you wear your heels outside: not me, but I have worn a pair outside a couple of times many years ago

    What is:

    a: Your favorite heel height: 5" with/without a platform; 6" with a platform

b: highest heel height seen: 6.5" on someone going to their prom

Anything else you wish to add: I'm really into heels that leave marks in floors or sink into the ground. I especially love to see women rock back on just their heels. For me, it is the contradiction of the delicate heel on a woman exerting a force that causes what ever surface she is standing upon to yield to her power. I also love long fingernails, sharpened to points is awesome as well. I also love very long hair, particularly red. Too long is a good start.

I love to hear about and see lady's heels leaving marks in floors, sinking into lawns (hence the name) and other things.

  9. To day a was in a store and many girls was wering stilettos.

One just stand on here heels and she was leving many marks (dent)

And some of the others was walking on the thin nail and dents the floor.

I have a question for the lady.

Do you dont no what the heels are doing to the floor, or dont you care?

Sorry to be irresponsible, but I absolutely love it when ladies do these kinds of things, intentionally or not.

  10. Which one to select. Wow! This is a good thread. I'll use my first sighting ever. I was only about 5 years old (this would make it about 1968). My grandfather had died and my parents felt that I was a bit too young to be at the funeral and all (they were probably right), and I stayed with my mom's best friend. She had taken me to church on this Sunday. This was a time when people still dressed for church. There was one lady there with high spike heels (they were about 3 inches high, I seem to remember). It was after church and the parishoners had gathered in front of the church to talk. This lady was standing on the grass talking to a few poeple. What I noticed most was that she did not try to stop her heels from sinking into the grass. She'd shift her position and just let her heels sink away. No one else's shoes were sinking, even the wider heels. By the time everyone had finished talking, the place where this lady had been standing was riddled with holes and gouges. She didn't even seem to care the damage she had left behind. It was incredible the power she had demonstrated. Ever since then, I have loved the look of high thin heels, especially when they leave their mark. sinkem

  11. I bought a pair of red 3" heeled sandals from them a few years ago for mt wife. I ordered on style and they sent a different (though still very attractive). When I tried contacting them about the mix up, they did not respond (I'm not sure why). The shoes appear to be designed more for men than women (at least the pair I bought). They straps across the toes are more for a wider man's foot than a womans (and I explicitly said that the shoes were for a woman). That all being said, would I buy from HayWay again? Probably. As far as I'm concerned they have some of the sexies shoes available anywhere. sinkem

  12. Heel stands? You mean shift their weight back onto the heels and stand on them alone, and not using the sole of the shoe at all?

    I can do that.

Not for long, but maybe it is something I can get better at.

That is exactly what I mean. I remember as a very young kid, that the girl next door always did this (though they were not high heels - we were only 4 or 5). When I got to high school, my girlfriend did it constantly. She could even walk doing this. It was/is a real turn on.

  13. What's sexiest... I'm probably going to be the odd man out here but, here it goes... Seeing a confident woman in an elegant gown (not specifically sexy) wearing the thinnest high heeled sandals possible. The long gown and thin heels draw the eye to look up and down, not side to side, and this is a very alluring effect. sinkem

  14. Well, the original premis behind the metal tips, at least in the BZtips case, was not increasing the durability of the heel tip, but to increase the forces the heel tip could exhert. There are many men that like to see a womans heel tip leave a mark in things and many women who enjoy leaving marks. I know quite a few women that wear heels that have been intentionally made thinner to not only look sexier but to also increase the forces. Some even have heel tips that come virtually to pin sharp points. This BZ heel tip was designed to increase the forces while looking pretty much normal. It is admittedly not for everyone. Some people like the look of spike heels as they are. Others like the incredible forces that a spike heel can exhert, to the point that they wish to increase it. I hope this answers your question. sinkem
