I told you that pearl was a great low-impact color. And actually you could probably wear flaming red or hot pink and they wouldn't say a thing. Except perhaps to remark on what a beautiful color it is.

  2. I noticed several folks on the related Christian thread who stated they were not Christian. I'd be interested to know more about people's spiritual side here. I have lived a large portion of my life in some flavor of the Christian religion (Epsicopal, Church of Christ, LDS) but these days I am moving strongly in the direction of Zen Buddhism. There is lots there that I find attractive. I find I also am interested in learning more about Wicca, Paganism and earth-spirit related beliefs in general How about you? --chris

  3. The biggest obstacle to getting it right is the quality of polish you use followed by having a decent brush.

I haven't tried Orly, but my favorite brand is OPI, who makes what I think is a top quality product. I usually thin it down some before use but I've never had any difficulty applying it. I've also had very good experience with Maybelline.

I had a couple of pairs of saddlebacks and liked them very much. I don't recall the "Chemin de Fer" jeans.

Now if I ever get them sewn up I'll have to post a pic of them.

I really hate sewing denim, though, although I haven't tried it with our newer machine.

Yes, but the darts are often just to suit a female body shape ...

There was a time several decades ago that a man could buy fitted (tailored) shirts off the rack. I had some when I was younger (and thinner), but a few years ago when I had lost substantial weight all I could find were baggy shirts, even the dress shirts were baggy. With the general increase in girth of people these days, baggy clothes have become fashionable. So I like women's shirts that have the princess seams because they give some shape to the shirt.

  6. At the risk of dragging this thread back on track ... I do wear hosiery on occasion, heavier tights in the winter and more sheer stockings in the summer. Often I don't wear hosiery at all in the summer. Knee-hi's and stay-ups are nice, but it's usually pantyhose. On the more rare really-dress-up occasion I like wearing the whole garter and stocking thing. I really dislike bulky socks. When I'm wearing trainers I usually wear no socks or the lightweight runner's footie thing (short sock that comes just to the top of the shoe). And FWIW (which is nothing), I, too, wear women's panties (especially thongs) which I find much more comfortable and cooler than men's briefs. With boxers there's way too much freedom. In a similar vein, I like wearing leggings or unitards. Very comfortable without any constrictions you might find in pants. --chris

Ah, you have that problem too..

Welcome and I wish you a lot of posts!

Ah, but with the miracle of dyes (natural or synthetic) you don't have to live with the problem. Not that I think there's anything wrong with gray (or silver or white) hair, but coloring your hair can be so much fun!

My wife's hair has turned a beautiful salt-and-pepper kind of color and I like it very much. But she's not nearly as flamboyant as I am.

First time I have EVER seen a man in a dress that looked good, even dare I say it , manly, sort of like you'd expect one of the Visigoths riding down on your villiage to pillage and burn, to look. Heck, it might even turn Laurie's head!

(at least I don't think that anybody would DARE say anything negative in your presence!)

Thank you. There are a few ironic things about this photo, though. The first is that this (the Visigoth image) is how I am often perceived irrespective of what I'm wearing. The second is that it's not at all how I feel about my spirit. For that take a lot at this:

These days I dress much more femme than the black skirt/shirt photo.

  9. Hi. As you might have guessed, I'm new here although some of you may know me from the Shoes and Heels discussion board or Chris' Atrium (which is my forum).

I get a little tired of introducing myself everywhere I go on the 'net so I'll let my future posts tell you about me.

You can see some of my shoe pics here.

  10. I have three piercings in each ear, having gotten the first set pierced about 12 or 13 years ago, and the last set about 6 years ago. I wear just about anything, from studs to hoops to danglies, the latter probably being my favorite. Doesn't matter to me where I wear them nor how feminine they are. I'm not sure about all the reasons I like them, but I do like the feel of the hoops and danglies as they swing when I move my head. I have always liked jewelry, whether it's earrings or bracelets or rings or necklaces. I like the metal and I like many of the gems, except for diamonds which I'm not particularly fond of. I like silver and turquise a lot. I have thought several times about piercing my nipples but I haven't done it yet. Just the thought of a scrotum piercing gives me the willies. --chris

Well, if you don't continue to wear earrings, the holes will eventually close up, so I don't see that as a problem, even though I agree that piercing little kids' ears is a stupid thing to do.

  12. What was the question? Oh, yeah, do I wear nail polish when wearing heels? Yes. I wear nail polish (toes and fingers) all the time. Real fond of reds (pinks to deep burgundies) and some shades of white, silver and grey. In fact, I recently had acrylic nails put on, which has been a real fun experience. I like putting flowers and rhinestones on a couple of fingers and/or toes as additional decoration. I think when my nail tech gets some experience with an airbrush, I will give that a try. --chris
