  1. Hi,

a cold beer and heeling sound good as long as you are somewhere in the Frankfurt area. If so I should be able to join you. Let me know the exact date when you will be here and where you will be staying. Send me a PM if you don´t want to post the info here. Near Frankfurt I can recommend HighFeelings(dot de). It´s mostly an online shop but you can make an appointment to pick up your purchase and try them on. They are located 25 minutes from Frankfurt airport. I have been there a couple of times, a very friendly couple runs the place, he also wears heels, but not all the time.

    Have a nice trip

  2. I first read about her death on the german high heels forum heelscity, she was well known there. I expect that some members there knew her in person. For more information one could contact Rainer from the website team of heelscity.

  3. Let´s stick with english, I don´t want to run into trouble with Tech. I was in Roissy on business, wearing heels as circumstances allowed, meaning only when there was next to no chance of running into the customer. I don´t mind what the rest of the world thinks about me wearing high heels, but I have to represent a certain picture towards the customers. I have not been to Paris itself wearing heels, but have been to a lot of others cities before.

Best regards and keep on heeling

  4. I will be up near Charles de Gaulle airport from November 2nd to the 4th, if anyone happens to be in the area and wants to meet up, let me know. It would be nice to meet someone from the board in person.

All the best and keep your heels on

  5. Have a look at italianheels.com, they have a ton of different styles up to size 14, you can choose both upper and sole colour on most models. On their site they say all shoes are handmade in Italy, I never bought anything from them, so I don´t know what the quality is but maybe some on the board already made a purchase and is willing to share their experience.

  6. I have found a gorgeous pair of Ankle boots in a large size that I want to buy on the giaro.com website.

However I don't know if they ship outside of Germany, I did a google translate on their site and it appears not as I could not register unless I had a German address. Does anyone know if the company ships outside of Germany on request?

    Thank You!

I´m interested in the same pair and being German myself, I dug my way through the fine print of both the Giaro and ebay golden_6 pages.

Golden_6 is the same company as Giaro, so you would be dealing with the same guys. On their ebay listings it is clearly stated that they will NOT ship to non european union contries. The US is on their exclusion list, probaly to avoid the customs procedures.

On any proper german webshop they have to list their AGB´s, which are their common rules of trade and on the Giaro site they do not exclude shipments to non-EU countries. (Even I had to read it three times, this jurisdical stuff is sometimes hard to understand).

So, before you buy anything from Giaro, contact them first and ask them very nicely if they are willing to ship to the US and make it clear that you are willing to pay any customs fees and taxes. They might not be willing to sell you something, but asking never hurts.

I just looked it up, if the total amount payed including postage is under 22 Euros, neither custums fees nor taxes have to be paid, if the value is between 22 and 150 Euros no customs fees but import tax has to be paid. That is for imports into Germany, you have to check from your side, what the limits are in the US.

    Heeled greetings

  7. What about having a custom amp built ? It will probably be cheaper than chasing down a working Fender. Have a look at http://sound.westhost.com/index2.html . He´s built several class a amps worth looking at. I´ve built 2 myself and the guys who own them have blown up more than one speaker with 2x 5 Watts. Distortion is not an issue with a well built class a and if you are really into it use tubes instead of transistors. I haven´t used tubes so far because of the additional transformers needed but I was told that you get even better results. If you just want too demolish your house have look at project 117 but for your purpose maybe project 70 might be the best, at least everyone else could get a good night of sleep . :-)

  8. I would be careful, the company does not appear in the spanish yellow- or white pages, neither does the phone number they give on the web site. The http://www.charlotte-luxury.com/ is registered through an anonymous service, charlotteluxury.net is registered through godaddy, another anonymizer. The company headquarters seem to be located in the same spot as the tourist information in Valencia. And only 22 friends on google+ since april . The might be real and deliver what they offer but it all seems a bit suspicious. All other spanish shoe sellers and makers I checked give their full postal adress somewhere on the web site , I could not find it on theirs. The best way to make sure they are where the claim to be and to be sure the operate a legal business ,is to contact the spanish chamber of commerce to find out if they are registered.

  9. I love those even though they have a small platform.

Do you have a link for them so I can get a closer look?

Cobblestones are different, not necessarily harder. If you spend a fair amount of time on cobbles you will master them, and wind up toning parts of your legs that other surfaces don't. Cobbles are a workout more than anything. You want to be heavy in the toe and light in the heel. You'll want to extend the foot more on cobbles.

I had a great time on the cobblestone streets of Rome wearing 3.5 inch stiletto boots. I was already quite use to the above technique from walking on brick paving stones. The unevenness of the cobbles was great fun, but I'd hate walk on them wet. The shorter than average heel for me that is, was a boon to walking on them.

Apparently this model is sold out, I can´t find it on Debenhams any more, neither german nor UK.
  10. The latest addition to my collection were these but in red, made by Faith, sold by Debenhams in the Uk, purchased through the newly opened german online shop at a great discount. For me UK size 9 is equivalent to a Pleaser size 12 or german size 43, they have a lot of larger sized shoes, not just plain pumps and ankle boots but unusual designs as well. post-19742-0-03593900-1365207740_thumb.j I broke them in during a 4 hour walk on the Frankfurt christmas market, which was the prelude for the regular corset meeting. If anyone had told me before that most of the area where the christmas market was held was cobblestone, I would have worn something different but I managed my 3/4 mile walk from where I had parked my car to the meeting point, through the christmas market (about 1 mile) and back to the bar where the corset meeting was held without any blisters or other problems, so I´m going to give them a thumbs up on the padding and quality.
