I agree - steel tips are the thing. Less likely to mark, and they still make a nice noise!
Good luck!
Rachel
i went shopping wearing my high heels the the plastic heel was off the heels so the nail was showing i liked how the heel made that noise when walking but on wood floors they made marks but it was fun anyone ever do that ty

Wow, Teeza! That would really scare me! I think you're very brave! Love, Rachel

I've voted tights (pantyhose) - preferably gloss/shine. That's cos I don't do stockings and my feet get too sweaty if I go bare. But I guess it depends on what you feel good in.

Hi Chrissy and welcome!
You don't say where you are (just England) but there's a place in Ramsbottom, near Manchester that does really high heels. Their website is www.alternative-footwear.co.uk. I've haven't been to their shop yet but it seems to be a place you can go and try things on. Could be worth a try.

I wear knee boots with high heels any time of year - unless it's really hot, that is. Even in high summer, it's usually OK in the evenings. Rachel

I wear heels for housework - not all the time but quite a lot. Just feels more comfortable. I've even got an ancient pair of boots with chunky 3" heels that I sometimes wear for gardening. I don't like my stilettos sinking in the mud - ugh!

Yes, often, but more when I'm in boots with stilettos and a skirt. (I'm past the age when I can wear them with skinny jeans...sigh!) It's rather nice, I think. And it makes a change from guys ogling my bosom!

I voted 5" but I can only stand or walk in them for half an hour or so. I'd have voted 4.5" if that was an option - I can do those all day. What a difference that half inch makes!

I'm sure thehighheelsgirl and Pata are right about practice, but it's really hard and the change from "can walk comfortably" to "can hardly walk at all" is very abrupt! I'm comfortable in 4 1/2" heels any time, and can get very nearly comfortable in 5" after a few hours practice but it goes if I don't keep "in training". I've never dared try anything higher, even at home! Rachel
