  1. It takes courage to wear for the 1st time in many environments. Once you get past the hurdle and you portray that confidence I think it becomes easier and your responses to questions more natural. I took a gradual approach in work......sounded out some of my colleagues views on similar topics in the hope that I would know what to expect. Then I started to wear items of clothing that were androgynous, progressing initially to women's trousers/jeans and suits with fairly ambiguous female shoes. The nylons were the big giveaway for me and once they knew I wore nylons it was a short step to heels, skirts dresses etc.... The women were great even though they did not always understand my rationale......the men were stand offish initially and as I have said in previous posts once they realise you are still the same person they treat you the same.......although they do tease occasionally. It has prompted some interesting conversations and taught a few more people to be open minded and less judegmental. /I refrained from using the word Bigot given the trouble Nick Clegg finds himself in today) :) A x

  2. I started wearing my Mum's ights/ph when I was 6 and this was my only diversity until it progressed when I was 11 to heels. I have worn ever since....discretely for many years and openly in recent years. I have amassed over 300 pairs of heels (in fact I bought a pair today) so you couddl say I have an addiction! A x

  3. Last Saturday I went to see Lady Gaga in Twickenham and have to say it was amazing. She can sing!!! She sounds live like she does on CD. Given Lady Gaga is somewhat of an extreme dresser this brought out the best in the audience and some of the oufits both male and female were amazing. I sam numerous guys wearing shorts or capri pants and heels which looked highly fashionable. One guy had thigh high boots on with hotpants, another knee length shorts with very high ankle boots. Some guys had gone the whole hog and worn full Lady Gaga ensembles ranging from dresses to leotards. Nop one batted an eyelid and it was a great atmosphere and great for acceptance. It epitomised whjat Lady Gaga stands for and her tour title 'Born This Way'. A x
