  1. Hi everyone, Not posted in a long long time but now have a question , With my job I travel alot and end up staying in hotels , shared houses, and some times my mothers house ! ( mainly because my house is rented out) Now I like to order shoes via mail order but like to be discreet about it, its human nature to try and guess what is in the parcel, My mum should work for MI6 lol ok so in my experience so far Next - boxed and plain wrapped Barratts Boxed but has a huge logo on the box, "i love these shoes" or something like that New Look Not boxed, well wrapped but if someone got bored they could feel the shoes Top Shop Boxed and plain wrapped Debnehams Boxed and plain wrapped Please add to list i am interseted in ordering from River Island and Matalan Nomad

  2. Hi, I find that very shoes size 9 fit me great, but the boots are very slim on the ankles and have yet to get a pair that I can wear. I saw a lovely pair of five inch brown wedge heeled boots on the website. But alas they did not have them in a size nine, totally gutted, but ordered them in a size eight because you never know ... and they fitted like a dream. post-6702-133522978175_thumb.jpg Highheeljim

  3. Well tech, I think thats a little bit wrong. I too have wondered why my birthday has never been noted in the birth day list. The option selected is a bit misleading. it say hide the date of birth, not the actual birthday. Who knows, maybe another member might have sent me a birthday prezzie of a lovely pair of heels, now I will have to wait another year:cry1: Quote "Your date of birth and age are displayed in several places on the forum" like where? certainly not on birthday section. I have tried changing but it just reverts

  4. Thank you for your reply, sorry for delay in responding. I think a visit is in order, after all I will be a paying customer. Not been to London for ... twenty years lol. so worth a visit. HHJim

  5. Hi, After a very long time debating with myself I have decided to invest in a pair of designer heels for myself. I would love a pair of Louboutins but the stumbling block is that I take a UK size 9, or EU43. After reading the posts here I know it is possible to get them is size 9 but they do run narrow according to the posts. To give a rough idea of my foot size, I have no problem with Next or Faith size 9 but Aldo's 9s are too small. Going into the shop and asking to try them on does not bother me, after all I will spend a large amount for them if they fit. So my main question is will they make them for me to fit me or am I talking about OTT prices? HHjim

  6. Hi Thanks for the advice, I will not test the floor as its not mine and so I will respect the owners wishes., I will just have to go shoppiing  I was in the out skirts of Oslo during february and march. I packed with me two pairs of high heeled sandals, only to find that it was down to minus 29 degress and five foot snow drifts, i must of had a blond moment. HHjim

  7. Hi Thanks for the advice folks, My main problem with the flooring is that its so slippy, and when wearing six inch heels you would have to be very careful. and besides I do not want to run the risk on damaging the floor . I will pop into town tomorrow and buy a pair of rubber soled wedges, LOL any excuse to go shoe shopping HHJim

  8. Hi folks, laminate flooring, looks great but I hate it. I am currently working in amsterdam and my company has given me an apartment to use whilst I am here. As usual I packed away a few pairs of heels so that I could relax away the evenings. Unfortunetly the owner of the apartment has laminated every square inch of the place.. The heels I have brought with me are new and very high spiked heels so you can imagine the sound they make on the floor. also the flooring its so slippery as to be deadly. LOL, plus there is a note in the apartment and I quote :- "could you please ask your contact to tell the people who stay here not to wear high heeled shoes on the flor!!" So the next assignment I take I will have to check the small print lol. ok thats my rant for the week HHjim

  9. Hi I really do not understand the measurement question. they ask "what is the max width" but this has no bearing on the fit, because if the toe box is high then you will be able to get a larger foot in it. HHJim

  10. Hi Folks, I also find it annoying when you ask a question and do not receive a reply. As for the height of the heel I always state this because the clue is in the title. - High heel, so tell them how high they are if you want the sale. I do get other questions, such as what is the sole length and the widest part. Other`questions include are they a tight fit? hard to answer that as I can only use my own foot size/width as a referance. HHJim

  11. Hi Dawn, Well doing well so far.... Last year I was suppose to go to Philladelphia but that never came off, ended up in Hamburg. This year the plan (which never goes according to plan) is couple months Amsterdam, then Germany til the summer then hopefully a nice holiday somewhere different. maybe russia. I had a spring cliean of my shoes whilst in the uk and had been selling them on ebay, but still have another six pairs to sell when I am back, plus another two that have just turned up in Liverpool at Barratts which I ordered at the start of December Looking forward to getting back to Amsterdam, love the place, I do not do drugs etc but enjoy the friendly party spirit HHJim

  12. Hi Hiline, Sorry to hear about your problems at work, my advice would be to grin and bear it at work whilst job hunting in a big way. As for a career path to choose I would not be able to hazard a guess, but wish you well for the future. I am self employed and contract out to agencies. last thursday the uk agency I work for rang me to tell me that my contract had finished, due to lack of work, and where would I like a flight back to on the saturday. An hour later I was rung back and informed that it was all a big mistake. Still I am use to this in my work. Had to do some comfort shopping at the weekend. lol HHjim
