Thanks for the post and congtraulations! It is easy to feel self conscious in those situations but I think less people pay attention to shoes than we think. However, I have to admit that I haven't overcome the fear of wearing "clacking" shoes in public. I have worn some very high heels out in public but not noisy ones. The noise makes me feel that everyone is staring and I have trouble acting normally.

May I please expand the conversation? I too am interetsted in finding stores but I am also interested in finding stilleto pumps with very pointed toes. I'm having trouble even on line. 5 inch heel is sufficient - not much higher. I have little use for platforms - I agree thery defeat the purpose of the higher heel.

Width is a tricky thing. Most styles have worked out OK for me but some have been simply unwearable. Yes, I have wasted some money with some suppliers but Zappos return policy is excellent.

I have the 76 style. Also note the heel is higher than 3" for a size 10.

I wear 9 1/2-10 mens and ordered 42 (11-11.5). They fit great with a thinner sock. I would have preferred a pointier toe.

very cool collection and i love the matte black boots with the very long pointed toe. how high are those heels?
