  1. My wife and I share the same shoe size. However, she was never into high heels - thought they were impractical and painful. For some strange reason she did a 180 and began loving heels (I think the movie "Devil wears Prada" made a good impression ) - not just any heels but only stiletto pumps. With that change our heels doubled.

  2. Hi all! I just saw Transformers today... I thought it was a really good summer movie. In the movie, actress Rachael Taylor was sporting a really nice pair of stiletto pumps... for the entire movie. I think heels are actually a norm for director Michael Bay since there were plenty of heels visible in his last movie "The Island". Now I gotta catch some of his previous movies to check :wavey: Overall, I really enjoyed Transformers - visuals are nothing short of SPECTACULAR! Ofcourse it's not the greatest movie I've ever seen, but was definitely one that's up there. I think I'm going to see it again come this weekend heheh.

  3. so i take it that Guess made more than one version of the "Carrie" pump? I know Macy's has them. It's on their website. They do look a lot different than the beautiful red ones in the photos.

    Hello there,

As far as I know, Guess made about 3 - 4 versions of "Carrie". The original version is made in leather. You can confirm it by going to shop.guess.com and look for "carrie". I believe Macy's carry the original version. The second version, which is mainly made in fabric, can be found on zappos.com. The 3rd version, which is mainly made in snake print, can be found here:

If the link doesn't work, try going to onlineshoes.com and look for "carrie". As for V4, I can't recall where I've seen them... sorry

Thanks, I'll go have a look.

No problem. Be sure to check the clearance section. I was able to locate a pair in Red Pat in that section.

  4. Hi all! Was away for a bit and didn't catch all the action. I apologize for not putting in more information about the shoes. The ones in red are actually called Sally2 (that's what it says on the box). They were purchased from DSW. I still see them in few of the the stores that I visit. However, they don't have it in Red Pat anymore. They do have black pat and black leather. The pair of Carrie in black is actually the original Carrie. Carrie 2, 3, and 4 are just more of the same shape... just different color and texture/material. And no, I do not work for either DSW or Guess, I just happen to love these shoes lol. Hope that helps

  5. Hi all, I just want to thank you all for the kind comments. I'm really glad you enjoyed my contributions. There are actually a few more additions to my closet. I will post pictures of them as soon as I get a chance to convert them into photo form  hhpumps: if you were referring to me... thank you for your comments. I use to wear only 5"+ heels at home. Some how, I've recently developed an appreciation for fashion heels. I find that a pair of 4" heel can be just as "sexy" as any 5"/6" heels :wavey:

  6. Hi all!

Just wanted to share with you the latest addition to my closet.

This is "Carrie" by Guess. I was very attracted to these shoes for some strange reason. My wife knew about it and bought these for me as a small gift. Boy did she make my day

These are about 4" high on a size 8.5 and they're quite comfortable to wear... just as what owners of these beauties said in their reviews.

  7. On the original subject... There was a young female coworker who never wore heels in the office. In fact, she'd always wear frumpy cloths and shoes to match. She was a very pretty / attractive girl. Then one day, all of a sudden, she wore a pair of 3.5 inch heels to the office. BOY did she look great! I commented on how awesome she looked and she thanked me. She also said that once in a while she'd like to be a girl... So... I do find it very interesting for a girl to alluvasudden wear heels one day.

  8. I have similar experience. I have a pair of boots in size 8 and they're so comfortable that they feel like 8.5. Just last month I went to their store to try on some pumps and I find that size 8 does not fit me. I had to go up 1/2 a size but I find 8.5 fit very snug, almost to the point of tight. I think they just got smaller by 1 full size.

  9. Most women who actually wear heels usually only do so when they are getting overly dressed up for a function outside their normal lives, like weddings, special occasions and the like. Not many really wear nice shoes to work these days.

If we finally win our ultimate goal, would sales of heels really go way up. Afterall many current buyers, women, may simply just stop.;) .

    Hi Jkrenzer,

I kinda disagree with your conclusion. I live and work in NYC. Each morning as I travel to work, I notice many, many women here wear very nice heels to work. This is especially true for Midtown Manhattan. Though they're not your FMP's, they are very nice and WILL grab your attention (they certainly did me). While many of these women/girls are well trained in heels, some just walk like they're pull plows. That tells me that even though they're not totally comfy in their shoes, they'd rather be in heels :o. So I strongly believe that it will be a long while before women will stop wearing heels, if at all.

As I write this I am wearing a pair of super long tipped toed 4" D'Orsays that my wife and I will be playing with very soon.

    You lucky guy!

  10. Went shoe shopping yesterday with my wife... she bought a couple of pairs of nice heels for herself and then she got me a really nice pair of heels.

These shoes are really beautiful! They're quite comfortable as well. They're size 8US, made by Guess. Although they were for me, I have a feeling that my wife will be wearing them more than me heheheh. But hey, it's the thought that counts ;)

  11. Hello! I'm new here. I've been lurking for ever but today I've decided to share my experiences. I usually just buy from the internet and I've been lucky enough to pick the right size everytime. I've even done shopping in a store before but never tried them on. After reading so many interesting posts here I've decided to give it a run... and HOLY COW was it fun! It was during lunch time that I went and the store was kinda empty. It's a small store (in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn under the D train if anyone is interested) and there weren't that many customers. There were two sales ladies and they were very, very nice. "Professional" is the word I'm looking for. The sales lady first assumed I was buying a gift for the S/O, but I told her that I was looking for something for myself. Then immediately she proceeded to ask me what size I wear. I told her my size and she already started recommending shoes to me. After browsing for a bit, I found a pair of 4" pumps that I liked and it was very low priced. So she got a pair from the back and I asked to try them on. (too bad they didn't have any ankle straps that I liked, I would've loved to see if they'd help me with the strap). I walked around a little bit and we chat a little bit... but I found them just a bit tight. She then took it to the back and stretched with a machine (since they don't have next size up) and brought it back so I can try them again. I enjoyed the experience so much that I asked if I can just have them on my feet for a little bit longer to make sure they're comfy. We just chatted away. During the whole process a couple of people came into the store while I was just walking around in my new heels but, like many other people said, they did not even notice I was there. All in all the experience was great. The only thing that was a downer was the fact that she never mentioned how good the heels looked on me lol. Maybe I didn't look that good heheh. The sales lady even said that she works in another store down the street. I've decided to visit the other store next time, since they have more shoes. Anyway, I've typed enough. Happy heeling!
