  1. I've never had the pleasure, which brings to mind an interesting point. I've never really paid any attention to what a guy has on his feet. This tends to validate what I've read right here on this very forum regarding street-heeling; that people aren't paying attention to your feet and, unless they're noisy, probably wouldn't notice whether you were wearing heels or not. Now women, well that's another matter entirely. In fact, when there are good looking women about, I spend a lot of the time with one eye on the floor! As far as guys go, I'll have to start paying a little more attention when I'm out in a crowd, 'cause I think it would be awesome and interesting to see a guy in heels. And If I ever do, provided the timing and situation were right, I will definitely give him the ol' thumbs-up! 8)

  2. I guess I lean toward the so-called Goth look in heeled footwear. For me, almost anything with a well proportioned platform and chunky heel does the trick, although I do have somewhat eclectic tastes and appreciate everything from stilettos to ballerina flats. Right now I'm really into super chunky platform flip-flops and wedges (what I'm wearing right now, as a matter of fact), especially if they're high and on the semi-strappy side. I love boots of all kinds too, but then again, who doesn't? My favorite boots have a thick chunky heel, ideally about 5 to 6 inches high, at the very back, and about a 1.5 to 2 inch platform. Victorian boots, too, in a nice brown or black matte or pu finish (no patent) with about a three inch heel. Now that's hot!

  3. I know this is the High Heel Place, but I was curious if anyone out there likes flats? Personally, I prefer heels, BUT I've seen some really hot 'n' sexy (to me anyway) looking ballerina and mary jane style flats out there. It really helps if they have one or two thin straps across the top of the foot. They just look like they'd be super comfy and a whole lot of fun to just slip on and slip off! Probably why they're so popular with the ladies.

  4. A few of years ago I was shopping "for my wife", and the sales lady asked me if I'd like to try them on, smiled, and said her boyfriend wears her shoes all the time.

Imagine how totally cool that would be - to have a girlfriend who works in a shoe store! I wonder if the boyfriend ever visited this site 8)

  5. Speaking of artistic images (perhaps "creative" would be more apropriate), here is a slightly impressionistic computer-aided rendering of a recently aquired pair of Demonia platform wedges - I call it "Anticipation."

It's hard to beat the freedom of just slipping into, and clomping around in, a nice high pair of chunky platform sandals - especially on a hot summer day!

  6. I am not too much into block heels and wedges, so to comment on your pics is hard. As for the artistic in the photos...they are great and the poses are really good, however I am not keen on the shoes. I prefer the sharper and more elegant stiletto heels.

I appreciate the feedback, steelheel, however, I'm still struggling with the fact that - because I think chunkies and wedges are sooo super  hott - there are actually some poor misguided souls (or should I say soles) out there not into the same style footwear that I am!!

Actually, believe-it-or-not, I like pointy-toed stilettoes, too. I just haven't found the perfect pair yet (that I can easily afford, anyway).

Again, nice pics - keep it up and don't let any "trolls" rain on your parade! Remember, even the greatest artists have their critics.

  7. Hi WarrenB!

One of my very favorite pairs!

I found them, as I have the majority of my heels, on eBay. They were all over the place around six or seven years ago, but relatively hard to find today. They come in US sizes 5 through 10, and seem to run pretty true to size with maybe just a little room to spare - but not much!

Thanks for checkin' out my pics, and thanks for asking!

  8. Hi steelheel!

I totally appreciate your pictures and your creativity. I've posted a few here like that myself. The essentially lukewarm response I've gotten seems to indicate that there are several in this group who, like Trolldeg, have a hard time dealing with anything bordering on the creative. A strange attitude indeed for a group espousing open-mindedness and public acceptance!

If you'd like to see some of my "artistic" endeavors, check out my photobucket album "in my shoes."

I'd appreciate your (or anyone else's) comments!

  9. Imperfect toes, your pictures are wonderful! You have an excellent eye and outstanding taste in ladies' footwear - a most refreshing change from all those pointy toed stilletoes! Thank you!!

And, thank you, pussyinboots for your great pics! They do indeed look fab with jeans - especially the way you model them!

Needless to say (but I will anyway), I love wedges and clunky heels and I'd love to see more posted on this site! There's got to be a few more "chunky lovers" out there somewhere...

  10. Nice boots, EdwardianEra! I'm looking for a similar pair myself, but with a slightly higher heel. I also totally appreciate the "sepia" effect...

and when I am, at last, lucky enough to find a pair like yours in my size, I plan on taking some "period" looking photographs - maybe with a few old-timey looking props thrown in to add to the overall nostalgic feel.

Thanks for the post and the pic - keep it up!

  11. Ugh - never barefoot - too smelly and unhealthy.

    GWL

Yeah, I guess so, if you're dealing with dirty shoes and dirty feet to begin with!

You are most certainly entitled to your opinion, but personally, I, as an avowed barefooter, don't necessarily appreciate that characterization. Especially considering the fact that I always make sure my feet and shoes are spotlessly clean (and dry), prior to, and after each wearing.

Fact is, under certain conditions, nylons, tights or socks can be just as smelly and / or unhealthy as bare feet, if not more so!

  12. An excellent question, V!

Nine times out of ten, I'm a barefoot guy. There's just something about the feel of a smooth, gracefully curved insole under a bare foot! That feel, in fact, is a major part of my attraction to high heels - and it always has been. I will, however, occasionally wear socks (typically beige or dark brown) because, in my opinion, some socks and some shoes just naturally go, and look great, together.

    Like these, for example...

But, be it boots, sandals or slip-ons, barefootin' is definitely my favorite way to heel...

'cause it just feels soooo darn good! ;)

  13. Sweet! Thats exactly what I am talking about ;)

Very cool - I kinda thought that's what you had in mind! I found them on eBay:

And here are a few more low-heeled styles you might want to check out:

Low heels aren't really my forte, but using these listings as a guide, you can pick up on some of the key words, brand names, etc., and custom-tailor your search to find EXACTLY what you're looking for. To find these, for example, I simply searched the "Women's Shoes" category for "low heel boots."

Good luck, and please let us know what you find!

  14. Thanks, to everyone, for all the feedback!

Elegant: Of the three pair you singled out, the 'Splash' boots are my number one favorites - thanks!

demoniaplatforms: I can't wait to see your collection, as I'm sure we have VERY similar tastes in chunky footwear!

stilettolover: Yes, the Lower East Sides are from Payless, and I totally agree - they are super-comfortable shoes!

ericge: Thanks for the compliment - I LOVE those shoes and wear them often!

I've got the whole collection uploaded now, with a brief commentary attached to each image. Check it out and please keep the comments coming - I love it!

  15. I wear every one of them, on a fairly regular basis, but sad to say, none of them ever make it outside - I just don't quite have the nerve (or the desire, really). That doesn't, however, diminish the pleasure or the rush I get wearing them around the house - they stay in much better condition that way, too!

  16. I apologize for the slightly third-person sound of the title, but I'm pretty excited about this, my first-ever opportunity to share my modest shoe collection with the hh community! So far, I've only got about half of it posted, but I should have the rest up and online by the end of the week [uPDATE - It's all up now!]. In the meantime, I realize that what thrills me, might not thrill you, but I sincerely welcome any and all comments!

If you love clunky, chunky shoes, like me, I think you'll enjoy it; if you don't, consider yourself duly warned!

PS - When you get there, be sure and click on the images, as there is a brief description accompanying each photo.

  17. Let's see, awesome, aroused, content, thrilled... I could go on, but I think you get the general idea! I've always been fascinated by the psychology of heel wearing (among guys, anyway) and I'm sure that there have been studies done on the subject, but the feelings seem, for the most part, to center around a certain sexual arousal. I just love it and I can never seem to get enough! It's funny, and a sure sign of addiction, I guess, that after I get a new pair of heels, I'm only satisfied for a couple of wearings; then I find myself craving yet another new thrill. So back I go looking for another pair to satisfy my desires. Could be worse, I suppose, and I'm pretty frugal when I buy, so I'm not depleting our savings, or anything like that. I am, however, beginning to run out of room! I'm kind of curious if women feel any of these same emotions, or are they so conditioned to heel wearing that, to them, it's 'just another pair of shoes'?

  18. Hi all,

As a UK heels shopper we have far fewer options available than those of you in the US of A, especially for those of us with big feet!

That's funny. That's just how I sometimes view the situation here in the US - especially after I do a 'UK only' eBay search! I come away thinking, 'Man, they're lucky in the UK. They've got some awesome heels over there.'

Yes, we've got some real heel diversity here in the States, but we don't have some of the super-hot styles I see offered by brands like 'Faith,' 'Raid,' 'Barratts' and 'New Look,' among others. Some of their stuff is simply mouth watering to me! And oh, those high chunky heel, low cut booties! Virtually impossible to find 'em exactly like that over here. You guys really got it goin' on when it comes to high heel chunkies and boots!

The grass is always greener... as they say.
