  2. I agree, wedge type shoes are more stable than point heels. I like the look & feel of a nice pair of wedges, even more so if they are a pair of platforms. I'll pay more money for a pair of good wedges, than a pair of heels. Innskin

  3. It is obvious that this woman does not wear heels on a regular basis or even know how to. If she did, I'm sure the outlook of the article would have been different. As we know, going from wearing nothing but flats, then trying to wear heels all day, will create some problems. You need to build yourself up to the height you wish to wear. A personal preference and point of view, hose should/need to worn with heels. Innskin

  4. I, like alot of other people here, started their love for high heels at a young age, looking at and wearing Mom's heels. I loved the look and feel from the first moment. Every chance I had, I would wear her shoes. But as I got older, I quickly out grew her shoes (darn!). Whenever we went shopping, I would look at the heels in the stores. It wasn't until I moved away from home, was I able to start my collection. My stash has ranged from 4" clunky heel boots (ankle, knee, thigh high length). The shortest heels are 3 1/2" on up to ballet boots. On many occasions, I have proudly worn my heels out in public, and do so many times a month. At my last job, I wore almost everyday. My present job requires my to wear steel toe work boots, so heels are out of the question. Innskin

  5. From what I just read, I hope I haven't made a mistake. I just purchased a pair of Devious Ballet boots. These are my first pair of point boots. I wore them for about an hour after getting them. Definitely a different sensation with your toes straight down. I am not a novice to high heels, but these will be a challange. I read someplace else in the forums about cutting the heel down a little. Any comments? Innskin

  6. How long could it take for my foot to become accustomed to walking in the 6 inch heels properly?

That depends on how often and how long you wear 6 inch heels. The more and longer you wear them, the more comfortable you'll get in wearing them.

I would recommend starting with a lower heel and work yourself up to the higher heel. I started out with 3 inch heels and worked myself up to 4.5 inch heels over a long period of time. 5 inch heels are still a strain for me.

If you don't wear heels for a while, again start with a lower heel, then work up to the higher ones.

I've never been able to go from a flat shoe to a high, high heel without working up to it.

  7. I have read that you are supposed to increase the size by 1 or 2 but didn't fully understand why.

Depending on the manufacturer, a woman's shoe can be 1 to 2 sizes smaller than a man's shoe. Unfortunately, sometimes trial and error is the only way to find the right fit. Myself, I find 2 sizes larger works for me.

Will wearing these shoes everyday alter my foots shape? I won't necessarily be walking around my house all the time.

If you wear the wrong size or very pointed shoes, you could find some change of the angle of your toes.
