Atlanta has a reputation as a city with a lot of dressing going on; I read once that "Atlanta is to crossdressing as Seattle is to S&M." I don't know how that reputation came to be or to what extent it is merited.

There is a lot of crossdressers here in Atlanta, but never having been to any other big cities for any real length of time, I can't say for sure if it is larger than most or not. I do know that there are a lot of areas here in Atlanta that it is accepted to wear heels out in if you are a guy, and lots of areas where it isn't a good idea.

I was extemely shy as a kid. I'm still kind of shy but not as bad. I'm not sure it has anything to do with my interest in high heels though.

Those are not my style, but I don't see them as 'girly' shoes, at all. If they make you happy and you look hot in them, then wear them and be fabulous! As to the 'date', don't ever let anyone, no matter who they are, dictate to you what you do and don't do. If it makes you happy and feel good, and it doesn't hurt anyone, then go for it!

I can see myself in a pair of those. I wasn't around for the 60's (I know, I know, I'm a young whippersnapper, I admit it), but I'd love to get my hands on some original cuban heels.

It's nice to hear that your partners are at least open to letting you fufill your needs partiatialy. Some are not that lucky. I'm very lucky that my wife is encouraging me to explore the desire to wear heels. In fact, she loves the idea as she loves shoes and heels in particular, so now we can shop for them at the same time. How did you first get the idea to wear heels?
