  1. I was at Nordstrom last weekend and wanted to try on several pair. They didn't have anything nice in my size. However I did show up there wearing the recently acquired Dexter wedge pumps, coffee RHT stockings along with a 6 strap OBG to hold them up. The wife was with me, she purchased a nice boot. I will try to find a photo of them and post it. They are due to arrive at the house tomorrow.

  2. Almost everybody let others wear what they want and mostly show little predudice. The barriers are mostly inside our own heads./QUOTE]

I agree with the barriers issue. If you watch small children play together, they don't harbor prejudice and ill feelings towards each other. They learn that from their adult counterparts as a condition of growing up.

Too bad we can't stay as innocent as young children all our life.

  3. I agree regarding the comfort and style aspect of the female attire. Although I do succumb to xdressing regularly, I only wear women's designer jeans and a nice blouse when in public. The dresses and skirts are left for the house, since the last time I was out in one I was almost arrested. As I have said before, I live in a backward part of the country and hope that 'change' in thinking about attire will come soon. But all I can do is hope.

  4. My first pair of purchased heels was over 20 years ago at a mall near where I used to live. The saleslady was very encouraging and offered to assist me in the rear stockroom of the store. She first gave me a pair of thigh highs to put on, then brought in multiple pairs of various styles for my consideration. I had walked in other peoples shoes before this, but this was the first time that I was actually buying a pair for myself. The experience was wonderful, to say the least. The saleslady was extremely helpful complimenting me on several pair and letting me know when she thought that others looked, well say awful. I brought two pair and walked out of the store wearing a more conservative pair in the mall. No one noticed them since they were rather short and had a rubber sole and heel. This was the pair that I gained experience in public outings. Several years later this store went out of business and I had to travel to the next county to find a store to make my purchases. For me, the interaction of the sales clerk and the trying on of the shoes in a store environment is much more appealing than ordering online. However since I wear such a large clunker; a 13, I usually have to succumb to the online purchase procedure.

  5. I used to enjoy going out regularly without a hitch before I retired. Now that I have moved, it seems the people here are a little backward and seem to want to run me out of town on a rail. I usually have to drive about 125 miles to a larger city to avoid such complications. You seem to have the perfect locale to enjoy heeling. Keep it up.
