  1. hi all - heres a write up from where I left off:

"So that was it, it was my time, now or never, my turn up there on the plinth. So I stepped out the offies in to the sun shining quite brightly even for 7am. And over on to the crane platform. One of the production crew members was with me, we were lifted a few feet up and then driven across the square over to the plinth. Had to hold my balance as it was a bit rocky..

Then straight up in to the air - OH MY GOD - what a rush!! :w00t2:We went very high - above the level of the plinth, and then lowered across on to the edge. I could hear the chaps on the ground below shouting up at the previous guys who said to me they were quite a handful as he got on to the crane...

Then the first step out - wow!! Another rush. And then sure enough, the crane lifted away and that was it, I had done it - what a journey to get this far. the crane lifted away and sence of isolation quickly hit me - up here, on my own, in full catsuit and heels, and on full display to everyone passing by and the cameras!!

Several deep breaths needed at this point to try to slow down the adrenlin and compose myself... I had brought my bag with me with a few accessories so I put that to one side, at least for now, and walk out to the other end of the plinth to see what was going on. the other end faced where there were more people passing by (albeit only a few at this time)

Then of course the chaps down below soon kicked in - that was funny really. Because I had nothing really planned then they did help keep me occupied and the conversation was quite entertaining - friendly banter if you like... They were quote complimentary in fact!! One was quite insistent he wanted my cat-mask and how much he could buy it for!!

The production guy had said that at least from 7 onwards, then communters would be coming across the square, and he was right. Esp from about 7.30 onwards there were waves of commuters heading out from Charing Cross station and over the square to their offices. I thought of course they get a regular view of whoever is on the square probably at least twice a day, and that I was another on their list. But of course it is individual art and thats whe whole point of the project.

I tried to gauge their reactions which varied from Head down and pre-occupied, to a friendly wave, get their phone camera out, pointing it at me - I couldnt help but give a little pose!! then another smile and wave as they walked off checking their picture had come out ok. One asking if I was supposed to be cat-woman!! The post was very useful for keeping balanced for that time in the high boots.

The time went very fast and before I knew it, there was only about 5 mins to go (there is a big clock on the other side of the square), so I was chilling out in the sun, very comfortable by now with what was going on, strutting about, little waves and hellos, and didnt want to come off!! And it took the thoughts away fron my feet which would normally have been hurting after this time, so thats another first

Not massively eventful compared to an evening or weekend I'm sure, but that was kind of expected really at that time, but so glad I did it. As the old phrase goes, you only regret what you dont do.. And was on what you might call a comfortable high, if that makes any sense.

Then the crane came back right on time, to take me back down, back to the offices for the photo shoot, then get changed, and then off to go and do a days work :-(. Could not really concentrate much at all as it took most of the day to come back down to earth - metaphorically.

Looking back, all I can still think is just Wow what an experience!! I didnt realise until afterwards how many different cameras there were, both near and far - the far away shots are what get to me, see just me, right up there as I am and surrounded by the historic buildings. Truly unforgettable of course, so we will see if I manage to get in to any of the write ups to come from the whole project...

    Take care all

  2. Hi All - Back now and have been compiling my stories from where I last left off - as the crane was rising in to the air!!!!! But then I saw this comment earlier in this thread: "4. As for fetish, that content was dropped not long ago, we dont really want the sexual side of fetish/heels here ". I am so disappointed in the fact that that this is supposed to be about "Men In Heels", and seems (to me) to be about "Men In Heels (except those who we dont accept)". Firstly I have no idea who decided that fetish (ie Rubber etc) was associated with sex - rather than Liberation or anything else, and secondly I no longer have any idea whose opinions are being represented here: the individuals, or the comminities.... FYI my reasons for going on the plinth were to do what I WANTED to do, nothing more, nothing less. Confused now. Hmmppphhhhgghhh..... xx

  3. Believe me - when in cental london about 10% of comments are indeed bad - shouted out loud: the usual - freak - queer show - batty boy - etc etc etc - all water off a ducks back to me - I am very thick skinned. Compared to the 90% good comments its all worth while!! :). I want to keep the high heel society and keep it going. Please dont imply that i am doing you guys community a bad thing by doing what I do... Actually about 5-10% bad - the comment about "negative stereotype that we are all trying to stop" just gets to me...

  4. Quote : "But hey, thanks for re-enforcing the negative stereotype that so many put effort into dispersing " Thats quite offensive. Think I'll just post next weeks and future blogs on another site where it will be more appreciated. Sorry all. Take care... x

  5. Thanks for all the (mostly) great comment so far all!!!

Tech - you do not get to choose your slot. Its given to you by the organisers and thats it - you accept or reject - nothing else... This was the slot I was given the option of. Was I going to reject it? Hell No! And it is indeed Art - you can do whatever you want for your hour

One other thing - the regular draws take place one month before - so the draw for the July plinthers is held all at once on 1st June. So normally you have min 1 month notice. I was on a backup list so I actually got 13 hours!!!! And that included sleep the night before...

Curios that the only person so far that has come out and given me negative feedback from this site and else where is the owner of the high-heel web site. Thats Irony...

I have had many big party nights in high heels the West End in London on Fri and Sat - you should check my facebook page for photos of us - most tagged by other girls - essentially being come upon by adoring women ALL night and having photos, chatting, laughing, swapping stories, swapping emails - facebook friends etc etc etc - I will stop there! - all such fantastic nights I really should write some of them up here. Some clubs have let me in for free now because of it!!! Believe me guys - you go for it and it is totally amazing where the night leads you!!!!!!....

As soon as I heard about 4th Plinth my nerves tingled like hell (on a local radio station the day applications opened). Applied on the website right away. Then got draw rejections for June, July and August :-(

Was in the west end last weekend in full red catsuit, whip, devil hat & red thigh boots! Another classic night! And bumped in to this party where one of the girls had just been up there. So there I was cursing and saying how jealous I was. Their response was to tell me that its an option to just go to the portacabin offices and get yourself on the back up list there and then (as long as you have applied already and are UK citizen - you need passport / driving licence on the day). This I did right away!!

Then on Sunday eve abut 6pm I got the call that there was a cancellation - but it was for Mon 7-8am. Was soooo happy on one side but the time just did me over.. I thought: Is there a worse time in the whole week?? Monday afternoon would be better, even Sunday morning early hours might have a few clubbers with it being August. Or any other day rather than first day of the working week...

But I knew that the staff who asked me had only recently met me and I was the first person they called because of my outfit!! That was cool! I also knew that the backup list was VERY long and I would regret it FOREVER if I said No right now (even backups dont get another chance)

So that was it - I was in - had no idea what to do but just do it!! Had to be there at 5.30am so had to get taxi. First was the photo ID, then reading and signing all the paperwork and disclaimers. Then there was interview. About 20 mins about life, history, passions interests, ambitions, etc. So that the artist can get a profile on each person. All sorts of things came up in that - Dont think these are on web site though. The photo shoot, then a coffee and then outside on to the crane platform!!!!

Hope that explains some of the background. Am off this weekend so will post again next week on the experience itself...

    Take care all

  6. Did it in full heels!!! Was there 7-8am Monday. Oh well, we cant all get the best times but there were still a fair few peple about! My voice sounds wierd (to me). I blame the mike but my art was supposed to visual anyway... Check out Plinthers for that time for the full motion footage. Photo attached from the studio afterwards....

  7. Just want to add my thanks to kneehighs for organising this. Total blast for me on each of the Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights experiences. Loved every minute. Thanks to iloveboots and Lady Liberte too for being just so accomodating and friendly. Was one of the last to leave TG in the end and got home about 6.30 - didnt want it to end! Cheers.

  8. Thanks a lot for all your great responses. Yes it is very much all in the head, thats for sure. Act confident and you will survive. I have only ever been out in London so I dont know what other cities are like but in the west-end or similar areas, it is very well policed so i actually felt safe and almost proud at one point. Now I remember, whilst walking to the club, I saw the local police look at me and my boots and smile to each other - I saw them and this again actually gave me a sense of security. Around the same time a few lads started looking and pointing at my boots but I just felt safe in amongst the other people on the square that I carried on. Public places have their advantages, thats for sure.

  9. Thought I would have to tell you about one of the best nights out I have had, in the west end of london the other Saturday, wearing my patent black 5" stiletto heel stretch-fit thigh boots. I also wore a black PVC catsuit and over the top I wore a long coat that went to knee level, so my boots and heels were fully on show below the level of the coat. The collar and front chest part of my catsuit would also have been visible. I decided I was going to go to some bars, and afterwards to a mainstream nightclub where I would have to take off my coat as I went in. This is something I had thought about for a long time and tonight I felt I had enough courage to go for it! I left my house about 7.45pm with a small rucksack slung over my shoulder held with my arm. I was quite nervous as I have only recently moved and had not been out in my boots during normal evening time before. I steadily made my way across to the train station (about 10 mins) keeping my head up looking confident. Through the estate it is quiet and I could hear my boots echoing from the buildings as I walked through. To me it sounded really loud and I wandered how far the sound was travelling. I bought a bottle of water at a local shop on the way. So far not too eventful and evryone seemed to be going about all their business around me. At the train station the ticket counter was closed so I bounght my ticket from the machine which is right on the intersection of the roads, but still not really any comments that I could make out. I was actually starting to feel quite comfortable at this point. I got my ticket and went on to the platform. There were somew rumblings and giggles from people on the oppposite platform as they saw me walk along. On my platform I saw people notice but that was about all. As I got on the train I heard a wolf wistle behing me which I can only assume was directed at me but I didnt turn round. The train arrived at Charing Cross and I walked along the patform and out the station. On the station I heard a few "wow" type comments and my confidence was starting to grow. Just outside the station forecourt I could hear some lads behind me shouting something like "hello treacle" and a few other things. I kept on walking. This was quite negative but I kept going. I walked up towards Leicester Square and in the heavy traffic were 3 party fire-engines full of girls on (I assume) a hen night, leaning out of the window shouting at passers by etc. I glanced at them but they didnt see me to start with. Then they did. To my side I heard at the top of their voices: "F....M....Bs!!!!". This was followed by several compliments along the lines of "Your boots are lovely" etc. Wow! What a rush that was! Although several people were also looking at me as well as the fire-engines. This actually went on for a minute or two as the traffic was only moving at walking pace and we were going in the same direction. But it as all very friendly and I was really beginning to enjoy this!! I went to my first bar on Charing Cross road but this was rather uneventful apart from some exclamations as I first walked in and some smiles from one of the bouncers. I went to anoother pub on Leicester Sq, ordered a drink and hung around. I noticed a group of 4 attractive girls wearing black high-heeled boots so stood about 5 meters from them having my drink. We made eye contact a couple of times as I spotted them spotting me. After about 10 mins one of them came over and said how they had all been admiring my boots. She said how one of the others was actually wearing her boots and that they were over-knee. I said that mine were too and she was quite impressed. She wished me a good night and I returned the compliments too. A few other people noticed me in the pub too but none were negative. As the pub was closing we had to move down to by the door. I decided to stand quite close to the door and 3 young lads came up and said: "you have quite a unique look there". We spoke for a short while and they said how they liked the shiny meterial around my collar area aswell. We spoke a bit about fashions and again bid each other a good night. I walked around Leiceser Sq and found what seemed a reasonable club to go to. A lady was outside with a clipboard and directed me to the queue for non members but it moved very quickly. Inside I had to undo my coat (for the first time) for the bouncer to search me - he chuckled as he did so. I made my way down the stairs in the queue for the cloak room. As I was half way down the lady with the clipboard caught up with me and said that if I experienced any problems just let the staff know because obviously you're quite unique tonight. I thanked her very much for her concern and was genuinely appreciative of this! Arriving at the cloak room the girl said she liked my coat and I said, well, you might also like whats under it then. I took my coat off and she smiled as my catsuit was now in full visibility for the first time. I was nervous again now as I walked in to the club. It was quite dark so I dont know how many people noticed but some did, esp whilst I was at the bar. I wandered round but there was little seating area and I need to rest my feet for a few mins. Most of the seating seemed to be pre-booked but I continued and at one point found myself looking for a seat near the entrance to the VIP area. At this moment, a girl exclaimed out loud (i didnt catch exactly what), grabbed my hand and took me promptly in to the VIP area. She explained it was her 30th birthday and we chatted for a while. She said how great my outfit looked and allowed me to stay in the area and introduced me to her friends (female and male) that were there! I chatted with many of them and danced with several aswell. A couple of the girls were pinching my bum and one part-way undid my catsuit as we did a rather raunchy dance. A few took photos aswell of me, my boots etc. And I was comparing shoes/boots/heels hights wth some of them too. I had to keep my whits about me thats for sure, but it was all very firendly indeed and a total buzz for myself! Eventually we all said our good-byes and I left shortly after them and got a taxi home, getting back around 4am - a good 8 hours in boots! Overall, a nervous night at times but one that ended up being absolutely nothing like what I could have imagined. And the boots/outfit are what did it, although I think my overall ability to hold the look and act confident helped too. Up the boots I say. I write this thinking of what and when my next adventure might be. Maybe I'll wear red instead of black......

  10. I have got a couple of pairs from bananashoes.co.uk. They have a very wide range and pretty good service too - they'll let you now if things are not in stock and how long they might take. I have 1 black and 1 red pair of Seduce 3000 - need wearing in a bit but I just love the look. I recently bought a pair of Domina 3000 - still getting used to those. My first pair was from haywayshoes.co.uk who also had good service but a smaller range. One of my fave boots is the skyhigh range, also from banana, with metal heels. The kneehigh equivalent is called Amsterdam. I have certainly had a lot of fun with all of these, so depending on the look you're after, take your pick! - let me know what you go for!

  11. I like the look of the horizontal line formed by the bottom of my coat, with boots below it. Not sure about a skirt though. Have not really thought about it too much. I think I am happy enough with my coat so far. I have another black suede coat where the bottom of it lies almost exactly in line with the top of my boot. Haven't work that one out in public yet though....

  12. Thans for the comments. I normally wear a long-ish coat that would finish right at the bottom of me knee. From there on down its all boot and nothing but the boot & heel. So although they are thigh-high, that would not be obvious. Have not yet been out this season but am building myself up to it again as its been quite a while since last time. Last year, went in to one or two pubs and overall reaction has been all rather positive, esp at Bar38 one night. Some Newcastle gents started asking me about them and then introduced me to some girls there pointing my boots out to them. They too were very inquisitive asking about where I got them from, how much, the length etc. Overall quite a rush of an evening!!

  13. Hi All, Have been viewing this site for a while and finally decided to join. Have posted too in the new members section. My passion is for 5" stilleo boots of which I have about 3 black and 3 red pairs. I still remember my very first time outdoors but have since been to Central London shops & pubs (black ones only so far!). With the colder weather it is now boot season for sure. Would anyone be interested in mid-week boot wearers meetups in the west end?

  14. Hi All Been reading the posts on here with great interest. My own interest is in stilleto boots from 5"-6". I have about 6 pairs now in black and red. I also love to wear them outdoors esp in central London. Have been round Oxford Street, into Selfridges and round a pub or two in Leicester Sq area. Now that its getting colder here it feels like the boot season is upon us again. Loving it!
