Yes yes yes! A pedi every other week!

JeffB: I was out an about in University City today, and was a little sad that I didn't bump into you!
-
congrats! now then, we can do a little better than pay less can't we??
-
Rick- Show them off!! Wear them out! I wear my heels with skinny jeans, short shorts, skirts, etc all the time and never run into any problems at all! Don't be shy, it is so much fun being young and secure with yourself!
-
Love this topic! Lets see... about 25 pairs of pumps, 6 or 7 pairs of boots, and probably 5 or 6 pairs of flats... all proudly organized by how often I wear them on a shoe tree mounted on the bedroom wall!
-
Just wondering, not at all trying to offend anybody, but I was just wondering... who here wears heels in public as part of their daily life versus those who go out heeling on occasion and considers them "outings"???
-
I love ballet flats!!! I have a ton of pairs of flats, both ballet flats and other styles. I don't think there is anything wrong with loving shoes in general. (though I despise mens shoes, so, alas, I am a hypocrite)

Hi all. looking for some suggestions how to stop my calves being sore, Just receintly started going out wearing my boots but I am finding my calve muscles ache, is there any thing I can do to help this, its making my walks a bit shorter than I would like. Help.
Wearing heels impacts the muscles in your calves and ankles much differently than does wearing flats or sneakers. That soreness you are experiencing is the same soreness that you would experience after your first few trips to the gym.
The good news is that there is a fix!!!!!! Go for more walks, and the muscles in your calves will strengthen and the pain will go away!

Great outfit and pretty lady. Girlfriend ?
I haven't been to a NYE party in 20 years, so thats a no for me.
Thanks! And yes, she is my amazing girlfriend!
-
Did anybody make it out in heels this NYE? I went in a white sweater, leather micro-mini, patterned tights, and booties. Pics are on my blog! Anyone else!?!?!

johnneffde: Just checked out your blog and found it an interesting read. "Transcender", yes, I think you hit the nail squarely on the head with the term you coined, one that fits me quite well. Bravo to you, my friend, and welcome to HHPlace!
Thanks Jeff! I am glad you enjoyed reading it! Check back for more posts and photo posts as I explore the concept of Transcenders!
Also, as I understand, you are in Philly! If anything, check back for the restaurant reviews!

Exactly my point Heel-Lover! I just can't understand what the big fear is. I've been street heeling since 7th grade.
Agree completely,
As I have said earlier, for me the sound is essential. My heels are mostly very skinny stilettos and they have more a high-pitched 'click' when I walk, especially on very hard floors such as marble or concrete. The sound is part of my 'persona' now, and I like to hear it, I need to hear it and don't enjoy my heels that have nylon/plastic heels. I replace these heels with metals.
I wear heels because I love heels, I know I can wear them well, I know I look good in them and feel amazingly confident in heels. The sound tells everybody I am approaching, and I find it more empowering.
I am sure women who dress beautifully with sexy shoes etc expect to be noticed, if not then they are niave because everyone is looking/admiring/staring. This would have to be the main reason for dressing this way - attention and confidence gained. I feel the same, and I dress the same, despite being a bloke on the top...
Regards
Heel-Lover

Just curious, not trying to offend anyone... buy why so much talk about hiding and silencing your heels? They are your shoes, and you bought them because you like they way they look, so why cover them up? What is the worst that will happen if somebody notices them?

The store is on 8th and South, you should check it out!

Those are really some great looking boots! It is really too bad that they didn't have them in your size It is always really nice to have a "favorite salesgirl". There is a small shoe boutique here in Philly that has great stuff, the young girl who owns it is the only employee and she is always great with recommending things I might like, and will even hide my size in the back so that its available for me when I stop by. I was devastated when I stopped in last week and she told me that she is going out of business . Her lease is up Jan 1 and the landlord is raising the rent. I am sure going to miss her.

My girlfriend and I exchanged gifts last night before we go out of town to visit family. I was delighted when I unwrapped a pair of brown patent heels! She is the best. I am a hardcore street heeler and skirter, and was thrilled to wear them to the bar on the corner a few minutes after opening them.

Do any of you guys have girlfriends or significant others? If so, what have their reactions been like?
-
Spook I love your style! How long have you been wearing dresses and skirts!? That is a look that I would love to work into my wardrobe!
-
Hey there, I'm new here and wondering if there are any street heelers under 30 out there? If so, what have your experiences been like? What do you love about heeling? I am 25, in a committed relationship, and a serious street heeler!! Let's talk shoes!
-
I love them!!! Very nice! I hade a pair of oxfords that I got from Kohl's that I absolutely loved, but I lost them when I moved home from college a few years back I've been wanting some oxfords ever since, I might go check those out
-
thats interesting, I typically go a half size larger with higher heels, but it could be the way my feet are. For me it really changes alot from shoe to shoe
-
I think nerves are the only reason why you find it harder to walk in heels in public versus at home. Also you are probably gettting a lot more mileage in the grocery store than you are at home. I have found that the grocery store is a great training ground, because the shopping cart is such a great aid to use when learning to walk in heels. For starters though, why not wear some chunky heeled boots?

I just relocated to Philadelphia, and finding a heel friendly employer would really be amazing
Red Soles On South Street In Philadelphia
in For the guys
Posted
Barefoot Shoes on 5th and South in Philadelphia has red sole shoes! I know I have always dreamed of having a pair of shoes made by that one particular designer but have never been able to afford a pair. $30 for something that looks pretty nice is good enough for me tho! I thought some people on this board might find that interesting!
