I am happy to be here @spikesmike - I guess some of the self-consciousness comes from me growing up in a small town in the midwest which was not a very fashionable area. But now that I live in the city I am learning to be confident in heels @Marcus, sadly, I don't speak italian... I would love to learn someday though! I am trying to teach myself french right now!

I recently moved into a new apartment where I stored my heels on the top shelf. I came back from a weekend trip to find that the shelf was directly underneath the ceiling air conditioning unit - a leaky air conditioning unit. One of my shoes had been leaked into.

I tried to get as much water out as I could, and then left the shoe upside down to dry, but 2 and 3 days later, there is still water in the sole. I have put on thin socks and walked around in an attempt to squeeze out the water, but there is always more water in the shoe. Finally, last night I stuffed the shoe to the best of my ability with socks and left it overnight to dry out, but there is still moisture in the sole!

If anyone has any advice on how to dry out this shoe, I would really appreciate it! I had just bought this particular pair of heels and have never worn them. They are a size 11 Steve Madden nude patent pump.

Hi everyone! I am a 21 year old female from Missouri and I looove high heels! I like all shoes, really, but heels are my weakness. I am 5'11, though, and so when I wear heels I am usually over 6 feet tall, so I don't usually buy heels because I don't wear them out much. I feel self-conscious towering over my girlfriends - and even guys! I am also a size 11, so I sometimes can't find very many heels (ones that I like) in my size. Regardless, I love heels - wearing them, seeing them, hearing them! I am looking forward to the conversations I will have here. Thanks!
