  1. You have quite a collection of boots. I especially like the black LSBs and the burgundy Di Marnis. I recently purchased a pair similar to the LSBs (see the "boots contest thread". The Aldo boots are similar to a pair that I wore out a few years ago - only my pair had lacing on the outer calf and an inside zip, with slightly chunkier heels. Happy heeling!

Thanks Bootopia. I've admired the boots in your avatar. Where did you get them? Could be something I might consider wearing outside.

Yeah, the black LSB’s are keepers. I have a pair in green too. Just not as tall.

The Di Marni's are suffering some stiching issues. I'm depressed about that. Funny location too. Above the heel at the ankle on both the left and the right. The boots are snug, but not tight at all and they’re actually loose at that location.

I need to find someone with the skills to repair them. Definitely not the local shoe repair guy.

  2. Hi what can I say apart from they are amazing boots you have. I would love to know where you bought the burgundy thigh boots as they are gorgeous and I don’t as yet have some in that style even though I have quite a collection of boots I am always looking for more

Looking at your pics makes me wish we still had the Little Shoe Box

Talk about resurrecting an old thread.

Thanks for the complements. I'm overdue for updating my pics. I have added more boots since those were taken.

The burgundy boots are Di Marni. I got very lucky and found them on an eBay auction. They are stunning and probably my favorites.

I might be selling the LSB black and red lace ups. Not sure yet. But I've not worn them in some time. I'm sure I'd regret selling them the minute they were gone.

  3. Lovely Shoes

    How high?

Is there a platform? (looks as if there might be one)

When does she plan to wear them?

    Cheers

    Fred

The heels are 4". There is a small hidden platform. She's already worn them 5 or 6 times.

She has bad feet and it's rare for her to be comfortable in heels for very long. No question that quality has a lot to do with long-term wear comfort.

We have a new Nordstrom's in our area. She's dropped a lot of $$$ on shoes. On her 1st foray, she spent $2000 on just three pairs.

Prada Boots - Low block heel

Latitude Femme ankle boots - Western style with mid-heel. Very cool funky.

Prada HH loafer - 3.5" chucky heel

  4. Hey Guys, Thanks for the responses. (And the PM) I figured I receive a welcome. I'm still uncomfortable with free heeling and will try to work on that a bit. But I’m aiming for attending next year’s world meet. This’ll give me some time to work on my nerves. Unfortunately, most of my heels are too high for a walk of any length. But, I'll see what I can do about that. KH – I’m in NYC often. Maybe we could head out one night so I could see the responses you get (Or don’t get). Might you be up for that? My next visit will probably be toward the end of next month. Thanks again guys.

  5. Lurker/Super nervous/1st timer here. I’m interested in joining a heel meet, but never felt comfortable free heeling and am reticent about jumping in. So, I have some questions regarding the format of these meets. Please bear with me. Since I am a traveler and have family or clients in many major cities in the US and the UK, I’m a little concerned about privacy. For instance, I have family in the village in NYC and would never consider free heeling there for that reason. (Not to mention a lot of clients in Manhattan.) So, from all I’ve read here, I fully expect that everyone is respectful of each persons level of comfort with free heeling and associated privacy. With that said, and a wish to not seem oblique or even creepy at an event, I might not be all that comfortable offering up details of my career, where I live, etc. My wife (Of 19 years) knows of my interests and indulges in her own heel wearing for my sake, but prefers to ignore my wearing of heels. To spend some time with others of like mind would be fun, but again, the anxiety is super high. Would it appear rude to arrive for the 1st days outing sans heels if I decided that I just could not muster the comfort? (Nerves, not foot) Some general information about the events and personal interactions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. BTW – KH, I’m a major foodie as well, so better food and environs are always preferred.

  6. Where from?

The Di Marni's were from a private auction at ebay.de. (Yes, I've been searching high and low.) They were the only pair.

The thigh/crotch boots were from: http://stores.ebay.com/primafila-shop.

Keep looking at primafila and you'll see these boots come up again. Or, if you want the super high end Gianmarco Lorenzi's, there are several pairs selling for €2450. (About $3200US)

Frankly, I missed the end of an auction that I was following and these boots sold for €580. I emailed them to see if they would be willing to sell another pair at the same auction price and they said yes.

Oh yeah, the DHL tracking number says that they are on the truck for delivery!!!!!!!

  7. I'd be a little concerned. Those pictures have been pinched from another eBay seller named primafila-shop (Reputable seller) and they are pics of Gianmarco Lorenzi boots which should sell for no less than $1900US. Usually as high as $3000US.

Please let us know how you make out. They are stunning for sure and if your auction is for real, you can bet I'll own a pair myself. :rocker:

Oh, this is an old auction link, but it's the same boot and the same pics.

    Good luck!

  8. I've been a cyclist for more than 35 years and have been shaving my legs for pretty much the whole time. No question it makes you feel better. As far as shaving techniques, use shaving cream, not gel and the big secret is not using too much blade pressure. Just the weight of the blade should be enough. Also, I find it easier to shave with a small bit of stubble rather than trying to shave every day. I shave 1 a week or so in the summer. Oh yeah, NEVER use a razor more than once. The blade oxidizes once it’s been used once. And unless you have super fine hairs, will dull very fast. Remember that you are covering a significantly larger area as compared to your face and the blade dulls faster as a result.

  9. Thighbootguy, Thanks for the compliments. Again, the lace-ups t me are worth it, but I guess if you are heading out and about, they do not lend themselves to a quick change over. But, the LSB's I'm wearing are pretty outrageous and my guess is that most of you who have scared up the courage to street heel, would not attempt it in these.

You are braver than I for heading out. Although, if I knew of a location, had a group to head out with, and could be absolutely sure that I would not see anyone I know, I might be up for it.

cuarenta18, No, I’ve not worn any of my heels out of the house. No way I can do that where I live and I prefer to keep my interests to myself right now. Other than this board of course.

There are a few auctions on eBay for the very same Casadei Stretch boots I have. Check this eBay store.

They also have the Gianfranco Ferre that I just bought at overstock.com. Very nice indeed.

I do have a few pairs of boots that I’ve not taken pics of yet. I’ll try to do that soon. I’m traveling next week, so it won’t be until the following week at the earliest.

    Cheers!

  10. So, I was searching Overstock.com for a variety of items. (Not heel related) but stumbled onto a great pair of Gianfranco Ferre thigh boots. I've wanted a pair of these for some time, but the pricing has been over $1500. (OS has them for $399.) Well, the below is what my final order looked like. Who's says we can't be real men and wear heels!? :D GRIP 3-piece Super Grip Locking Pliers Set 1 GRIP 9-piece Professional Pliers Set 1 Gianfranco Ferre Women's Boots Size 11 / Italian 41 Brown 1

  11. Well, I just couldn’t wait. So I took a slew of new pics today and just posted them at PhotoBucket.

    They're in the same album

    Thighbootguy,

Sorry, I missed your question about lace-ups. As far as I’m concerned, the lace-up is worth the work and a zipper just seems wrong to me on a boot with full laces. Isn’t the anticipation part of the fun?

    Here's a teaser

  12. Thanks all for the welcome. I have several pairs of additional thigh boots including Casedei, Donald Pliner, Dolce and Gabana, and two other pairs of LSB's. I also have a few pairs of knee high boots including Steve Madden, Gianmarco Lorenzi, Mia, and more. As for pumps, I do have a couple of pairs, but I rather prefer boots and the pumps do not see much use. Going out in public is not really something I consider realistic. No way can I go out where I live as I know too many people and heading to another city to street heel by myself feels too weird. I never seem to be satisfied with my collection though. I always want that next pair. Especially the expensive stuff. I don’t really like the shapes of most cheaper shoes. I find sculpted shapes more appealing. I know why women have so many pairs. How can you stop? I'll try to find the time to take some proper pics of the rest of the collection soon. Cheers!

  13. Hey All,

I've been a lurker for some time, but finally got to post some pics at photobucket.

I have been wearing heels for more than 25 years, but, never outside the home.

My wife knows of my interests and has not discouraged me, but she also wants nothing to do with it. She's the love of my life and if this is the only facet that she does not share, then that's OK.

I have a particular passion for boots and for high fashion.

I have many more boots that I have yet to take pics of. But will try to do so soon.

Enjoy the pics and thanks for a great web site!
