  1. The story so far: I can't remember when I first saw ballet boots or how long I've been having thoughts about buying a pair. About a week ago, three things happened at around the same time: - I was having a thought about buying ballet boots. - I was asked to work some paid overtime. - My housemates (who don't know I heel) said they were going away for two weeks. Meaning I would have the money and an opportunity to wear them extensively as soon as I got them. I was unsure if I should get knee high or thigh high, but after a read of this forum agreed with the opinion, if you are going to buy ballet boots, go all out and get thigh high. I worked the overtime in the last few days, now I just need to wait for the pay and I can order my boots.

  2. I was browsing a sports catalogue the other day and came across a page with a new range of 'i10' shoes. The shoes had a 10mm incline that was meant to move the body forward slightly, providing a greater push forward (as explained on the page). Obviously, 'heeled' was never mentioned, even though that's exactly what they were. I thought it was an interesting find. Unfortunately I can't remember what brand they were, or the catalogue in which I found them.

  3. I've only worn heels in public once. I was 2 weeks from 18 at the time, and being nice to a female friend who was complaining her feet hurt and wore her boots for an hour. They were black, knee high, block 3 inch heel. Couldn't see them that well because I was wearing jeans. I got some strange looks, one older guy almost started running away from me, no one said anything to me but I wasn't game enough to look at the people behind me.

  4. Has wearing heels ever caused you an injury? What heels were you wearing (boot/shoes etc, heel type, heel height)? What injury did they cause? What were you doing? Any other factors involved (ie. being drunk/tired, uneven ground)? Did the injury stop you from wearing heels, or change your heel wearing habits (ie. lower heels), for how long? Did you break the heels?

  5. I can't remember how long I've liked heels. The first time I wore them was at a party a few years ago. A, female, friend went to sleep on the lounge, taking her boots off and leaving them on the floor. After she was asleep I borrowed the boots for a quick stroll around the house. I was the only one still awake so nobody noticed, but I enjoyed the feeling. Two years latter, I was with a friend in Sydney for the day. She was wearing a pair of black knee-high boots. She started to complain about her feet hurting. We had caught the ferry across the harbour to Manly, and while walking through Manly to catch the ferry back to the city, she really started to complain. I asked her if she would like to swap shoes. She agreed and after we hoped on the ferry, she imideatly un-zipped them and kicked them off. Not wanting to act like I wanted to wear the boots, I sighed and kicked my shoes off. She told me I didn't have to and thought that her boots would be to small for me. But I wasn't going to let this chance get away. I absolutly loved the feeling of putting the boots on and zipping them up. She told me to go for a quick walk to see if I could walk in the boots. She saw I could and was pleased about the swap. After we hoped off the ferry we walked down the strret for an hour. I was sitting waiting for her when she walked over to me, grabbed her boots and took them off me. Again, not wanting to appear like I was enjoying myself, my only responce was "I haven't complained once, you better not start complaining." She wasn't interested and I was extremely disapointed watching her zip her boots back up. During the hour I had the boots on, people were staring at me, some laughed, some were scared, although no one said any thing to me, I could tell they didn't really approve. Even still, I loved the feeling of wearing the boots and look forward to plucking up the courage to, some day, buy my own pair of boots and wear them more frequently.

  6. Hi Dawn HH It was the first (and only) time I wore heels. The fit of the boots felt alright but, as it was the only time I have worn heels I don't know if they could fit better. Hi kneehighs favorite heels: I'll have to say black, leather, zip-up, knee high boots with a 2-3 inch block heel. favorite drink: Bloody Mary (for those that don't know this is tequilla, tomota juice with pepper and tabasco sauce) or triple black douglas and coke. Thanks for the welcome and I do endeavour to get my own pair of knee high boots.

  7. I did leave out part of the story.

When I offered to swap I acted as though I didn't want to and was just being nice (even though I wanted to see what boots were like).

It did feel great walking in the boots.

After an hour I was sitting down waiting for her when she walked up, kicked off my shoes and grabbed the boots (pulling them off me) saying "I want my shoes back." I let her take them but tried to persuade her to give them back by saying "Your not going to start complaining again, are you?"

She put them on and walked off, leaving me to curse to myself for the rest of the day "I shouldn't have let her take them back."

  8. The other day, I was invited to go to Sydney with a, female, friend (We live in the outer suburbs of Sydney). My friend was wearing knee high boots.

About halfway through the day, and after much complaining of "my feet hurt" I eventually asked "Would you like to swap shoes?" She agreed and we swapped shoes.

We then continued to walk through the city, me wearing her knee high boots and her wearing my skate shoes.

Although no one said anything to me I did get a LOT of strange looks and found that some people were staring at me.

What is the problem with society? Why can women wear men's shoes without any strange looks while men can't wear women's?
