I think I better add that Silhouette's service was excellent from beginning to end. They measured the boots inside for me and described them in detail. When I had made up my mind and ordered, the boots were here four workdays later. Couldn't have been bettter!

Thanks for all responses and suggestions! My boots from Silhouette arrived yesterday. The quality was fine, so was the service and the shipping was fast. They were a little higher than I'd expected. It said 11 cm on their site, but that must have been measured in the middle of the heel, because they are a little more than 12 cm in the back. Maybe it also has to do with the size... Well, great they are!

Hm...I don't think my choice of shoes depends on the "even/unevenness" of the hemline. For me the overall lenght and width of the skirt is far more important. I must admit that I mostly wear pencil skirts somewhere below the knee. I also must admit that I wear high heeled pumps no matter the lenght of the skirt. Maybe I tend to wear heavier and slightly lower heels if the skirt has width, but I have recently bought a long, wide and flowing skirt that looks great with stilettos. Could you perhaps tell a little more about the skirt/dress in question? The look, the style etc.?

Hmm...well, I am a woman, but since I have always loved to wear heels, I'm not quite sure I can add anything of interest. But in general I think it's important not to try to impose your own fetish on your partner. I once had a boyfriend who had a lingerie thing, and even though I love lingerie and wear it for my own pleasure, I ended up with daydreams about burning it all. Somehow I felt that he "depended" too much on it - that he was basically attracted by my underwear and not by me. It was not so, and I knew it, but I just got so sick and tired of it all and wanted to go back to a "requisite-free" sexlife. I have heard many women tell similar stories about hated raincoats, handcuffs, wigs etc.., so please, be careful. Besides, I think it's a good idea to let her pick out the shoes herself. Good luck!

When I find a pair of shoes I really like (that fits me), I buy them and talk to the bank later. Of course I can only do that because I live in a heel-hating country. It's so very rare to find nice shoes.

Thanks for the replies, everybody! It's IMPOSSIBLE to get anything nice with a heel on in Denmark. I have already waited too many years for the mentality of the country to change - now I'll try e-tailers. I AM nervous about it - I fear an endless sending shoes back and forth until I find a pair that fits. Not to mention the fear that they just charge my credit card, and I never see the shoes. Well, for now I've given up on the brown pumps from Italianheels. They are too high for the purpose (did I write that?). Instead I have ordered a pair of ancle boots form Silhouette. There's a picture in the thread "I just ordered these". Please, take a look and tell me what you think - about the boots - and about Silhouette, if you know them.

Allright, click on "Ankle-lenght boots" in black. They are called "Classical bootie with metal stiletto heel". The heel is 11cm. Do you like them?

Oh, oh, I have spent the entire day measuring my feet - or rather measuring my right foot, since it is the largest - and according to Italianheels' size chart, I am at least a size 41, maybe even a size 42. I normally wear a size 39 in German shoes, 39½ in French or Spanish shoes and a 40 in Italian shoes. The shoes from Italianheels must be extremely small. This also means that the heel might end up 13½ cm/ 5.5" which is a little too much for daily wear, I think. At least I haven't worn shoes that high as streetwear the last 25 years (could get the habit back, of course). I'll keep you posted.

Thanks! I'd love to wear them with a dark grey pencil skirt. I am still a bit shocked about the price though. I think, I'll mail them and ask about the quality. Do any of the board members have any experience with them (Italianheels, I mean)?
