I have some designer Mary Jane stilettos that run small... I thought I did the EU conversion properly but at any rate, they're WAY too snug and I need to have them stretched. I heard about the freezer method - filling Ziploc bag part way with water, and let them sit for 4-5 hours or so. Instead of bags of water, how about ice packs?
They look like this:

4.5"

It's actally in color now!

A couple months ago I saw an amateur video (could be on YouTube). I don't know the name of it but it is about 3 or 4 minutes long, is in black and white and is about a guy who intended to give his one legged girlfriend a high heeled shoe for her birthday but got robbed by a masked cross dresser so he gave her a rather pathetic bouquet of flowers instead.

Alternative rock, wih a dash of country.

Welcome! Before my husband and I were married, he bought me probably $10K in shoes - Chanel spectator oxfords, Mary Janes from Manolo, you name it. Many of these shoes I still wear, though for a while I've only been wearing one (that'll change soon once I get my prosthesis).

I'm bringing this up because as a cruel twist of fate, I myself have become a leg amputee.
-
Heels make me feel more feminine, yet strong at the same time.

When I was in college, one of my guy friends challenged me to a race (about a city block in length). He wore his cross trainers, and I wore four inch stilettos. I beat him. (I used to run track in high school so that of course helped). I also had my left leg amputated at the knee a few months back, and have just now gotten the high heel with crutches down to an art form. Still, I'm susceptible to embarrassing moments - I had my stiletto oxford heel caught in a crack in the pavement (seriously, those are stiletto magnets) and I came tumbling down. My good trouser sleeve got a big hole in it, and scraped me bad enough that I was bleeding. My other trouser sleeve was just hanging down and survived intact.

It just depends, really. Sometimes I get the bear, and sometimes the bear gets me.

Ooh... got pics of them?

It's rather long, but it should be a goodie. I know a few of our single-legged friends here might enjoy it, as it's about the late teenage/college years of two one-legged, high heel loving coeds.

I've had these since I was 17. Wore them to prom, various formal occasions and even nights out with the girls. I'll be 27 next year so I figured if I can find another pair (and wow, I'm sure that's a next-to-impossible task) that's new, or at least barely worn I can keep rocking the style.

Not sure what designer, but I think Guess makes a very similar shoe and probably for less money too.
-
Would you wear such a combo with say, a nice gown or the like?

I'm not one, but a couple of weeks ago I saw a girl at a coffee shop that I frequent near my work place. She was probably in her late teens, maybe 20, and she was on crutches and missing over half her left leg (her left slack's leg looked to be modified to fit the contours of her stump). She was wearing a super-cute black patent stiletto oxford heel, and I was astonished at how graceful and fluid she looked.

I am about 5'7".

Four. 3-3.5 is fairly comfortable, and 4 is about as high as I go if I'm out for an extended period. Every now and then I might creep up into the 4.5-5" range but that's exclusively for short nights out with the girls (3 hrs or less) or for the bedroom (and even then I usually stick to 4)

Thankfully, no! I love wearing heels as it makes me feel feminine and pretty, but I like to kick back in sneakers/flip-flops every now and then to let my feet cool down. I was in 4" heels for 35 hours straight once (awake and 90% of the time on my feet), after that experience I knew I coulnd't live in them!

Probalby about a grand, maybe a little more. I don't go out of my way to buy top-end designer shoes, but I do splurge every now and then. I'm more of a Guess/S. Madden/BCBG kind of person. $80-150 a pair is quite enough!

Never really thought of it, but I think it might be a lil sexy in the bedroom. But he needs to wear regular shoes out in public!

Irony... over a decade later I am myself LAK amputee now, as is my biological daughter and adopted daughter! All three of us exclusively a single oxford pump.
