  1. Softmover - Love the heels in your picture. I'm very jealous you get to wear those to work! When your colleagues asked you why you were wearing heels on the first day, what did you reply with? hh4evr1 - When you say some weren't that ok with it, what sort of things were said to you? Also, could I ask what sort of field of work your office is involved in? and how quickly did you progress from cowboy boots to the 4inchers?

  2. It's so interesting hearing of everyine's experiences - I am very jealous of all of you! Especially you, Shafted - being able to wear stiletto pumps whilst dealing with Joe Public. It's great that people just accept and respect you for it. CRabbit - I do really hope it goes well for you when you eventually tell your colleagues. It would certainly open up so many more possibilities for you! Please keep us posted on the results. I'm in the medical profession here in the UK and I don't think I'd ever get away with wearing anything like high heels at work unfortunately. I feel there are certain expectations held of medical staff by both the medical institutions and patients, and I fear that men in high heels would sadly be frowned upon :)( If anyone else has any experiences to share, please keep them coming :))

  3. I have noticed when reading various posts that there is the occasional mention by guys here that they are able to wear their heels throughout the day at work. This has always been a dream of mine (and I'm sure a few others on here!) and I was wondering if we could start a thread whereby those who are fortunate enough could tell the rest of us a bit more about their experiences! Notably: -What sort of job do you do? -Do you work with mainly men, mainly women, or an even mix? -How did you first get to wear high heels to work, and did you talk to anyone about it first? -What was the first reaction of colleagues? -How long did it take people to accept you in them? -How long have you been doing it for? -What style of high heels do you wear at work?

  4. Have to say, in my humble opinion, that's the best freestyling look I've seen to date! -Great style! I was just wondering if you would be good enough to post a picture of the shoes you wore - I wouldn't mind getting some similar for myself!

  5. Having had to make lots of inconvenient trips back to stores to return shoes that didn't fit, I now always want to try on heels before I buy them. As there are lots of us (me included) who are always a bit hesitant to try on heels in shops, I was wondering if we could start a thread where those of us who have found ways to make themselves more confident in doing so can offer any words of wisdom! A tip that I could offer up for all those who, like me, hate to have loads of people around in the shop when trying on heels, is to get yourself out early and be ready to enter the store just as they open their doors. I am sure this tip must have been said before, but I cannot emphasise enough how useful I have found just doing this simple thing has been for me! I had a great week recently when I bought these 3 pairs of high heels on 2 consecutive days from shoe shops in busy shopping centres. Each time I was waiting outside the doors of the shops just as they were opening. I was able to try on the shoes at my leisure without hardly anyone else in the shops with me, except of course the shop assistants who were all able to be incredibly helpful because I was the only person they were dealing with! As it happened, trying on the shoes turned out to be very important too because the 2 black pairs came from the same store, but ended up having to be 2 different sizes! The red pair was also a size smaller than I would normally have thought I was! I hope this small bit of advice will help some of you guys. If anyone else has any peices of advice they would like to offer, I would be very grateful to read them!

  6. I have to say that I am a big fan of Suzi Perry and her impressive collection of sexy high heels. Did anyone see Suzi in tonight's episode of The Gadget Show? She was wearing the most amazing pair of red high heels with bare legs. I'd love to know where she got those heels from!

  7. Sorry, not quite sure why the pictures didn't work. Here they are again: As in the last post - I have worn the first two out many times, especially the boots, and I also have the last pair in beige as well as black. All comments welcome!

  8. Hi everyone,

I've been away from the site for a while and haven't seen this thread before. I know I haven't strictly bought these today, but I thought you might be interested to see what I have been updating my collection with over the last several months anyway!

The first 2 I have worn out on many occasions under my jeans, especially the boots.

I also have beige versions of the last shoe, but couldn't find a picture of them!

    Any comments would be welcome!

    D.

  9. Up until today, the only shoes I've ever gone public in are my black 2.5inch mary-janes. They tend to get hidden under some baggy jeans. However, I have always dreamed of just going for it in some "proper" high heels! So today I finally decided to venture out in my 3.5inch almond-toed Mary-Janes. I've just got back from wearing them to Sainsburys (my 1st time in heels to my local supermarket) - what a feeling! I definitely feel like a weight has been lifted off my head. They were in full view the whole time and nobody seemed to bother at all, and I walked past lots of people who didn't even seem to notice! I'm definitely now going to try out some of the other "proper" heels in my collection! Her are some pics of the shoes:

  10. Hi Raymond, I've also been wondering about purchasing a very similar style of boot to anable be to wear heels under my jeans on a more regular basis in public. I've been a bit undecided so far as I normally go for high heeled courts and mary-janes. Unfortunately this means I don't get to wear heels in public as much as I would like. I'll be interested to hear others' opinions on these boots too!

  11. I've always wanted to be able to wear high heels as part of my everyday attire, however, I work in a place where a man in high heels would never be accepted. I have read in various posts that other guys DO manage to be accepted at their work place wearing heels and I've always wondered what sorts of jobs you guys do? Also, do you go in girl-mode or in regular guys' clothes with heels? The latter is the combination I favour and I was wondering, of all you guys who go to work in normal guys' clothes with heels, what styles of shoes/heels do you wear and do any of you manage to wear more feminine styles? How did you introduce your high heel wearing to your colleagues/clients and how did/do they take it? I'd love to hear about all your experiences whether good or bad!

  12. I would like to hear people's veiws on the following: I'm gradually starting to wear my high heels more and more when I get the chance! In about 8 months of intermittent wearing I've worked up from 2.5inches to being comfortable walking in 4inch heels. My job involves standing for long periods at a time. In the last 2-3months I've noticed that standing in my flat shoes for these periods makes my heels ache a lot and I'm secretly wishing I was wearing a pair of high heeled shoes to take the pressure off them! I would much rather have more pressure on the balls of my feet than evenly distributed throughout the sole. It's unfortunate that due to the nature of my job, it would be unacceptable for me to wear high heeled shoes to work:( Although my high heel wearing has been intermittent, am I becoming more dependent on them (even a small way to becoming "permanently" high heeled)? I know there are people who deliberately set out to become permanently high heeled, but has anybody else noticed this sort of thing happen to them in an unexpected way?

  13. I know what you mean, MetalTips - I've seen a lot of that look around. I think the cropped trousers with stiletto courts looks awesome, as long as the bottom of the trouser legs aren't too loose. The ones that end just below the knee are the best! :santa_hat: (are they known as pedal-pushers?)

  14. I have to say I love both round- and pointy-toed shoes. Having said that, I'm not a big fan of pointy heels that have a slightly longer toe-box as they seem to make the foot look too long in proportion to the rest of the leg/body. Pointy shoes with a short toe-box look much sexier, in my opinion. Round-toed high heel shoes, I think, look extremely cute, and in that way look very sexy too - I think they are as sexy as pointy ones. The other style I'd like to mention are ALMOND-toed high heels. These have a slightly rounded point and always have a short toe-box. I think they are a perfect combination of both styles and, compared to pointy shoes, seem to portray a more casual/natural sexiness without making the wearer look like their trying too hard.

  15. Although I have had a couple of outings in heels, they have always been on fairly empty streets. I have never gone on a proper shopping trip in them...until a few days ago!

I decided I had to try it out so I went to a busy shopping centre wearing my favourite black 2.5" round-toed mary-janes and went shopping for new shoes!

I was a little apprehensive at first when I got out of the car - there were so many people around! I remembered what people say on this forum and forced myself out amongst them, hoping the crowd would take attention away from me. -It did! The bottom of my jeans did hide my shoes a little, and nobody seemed to really notice my heels. If they did, they didn't seem to show it.

I casually went about my business, browsing the various shoe shops for interesting heels. I soon noticed that the great advantage of wearing heels to the shops was that it was so nice to be able to simply slip off my own shoes and instantly try on multiple different pairs of new ones! No need for the usual fumbling around with laces and socks.

Another bonus was that having already walked into the shops wearing heels, it didn't feel so strange trying heels on!

I eventually found some I liked: a pair of cute brown 3 inch stiletto mary-janes with an almond toe in Dune, and some 4 inch stiletto pumps, again with an almond toe and lowish vamp, by Carvella. -I bought both pairs!

    Here are some pictures:

When i got back to the car I was so pleased with my purchases that I immediately changed into my new Carvellas and drove home in them!

At the start of the day I have to admit that I was not on the look out for anything with a higher heel than 3 inches. However, the fact that I was able to slip out of my own heels and try on so many others very quickly meant that I did try on the Carvellas when I otherwise might not have done. As a result I have found one of the most elegant and comfortable pairs of shoes I have ever worn! I can't wait for the next chance I get to go shopping for heels in heels!

I'd love to hear others' views on, or experiences of, shopping for high heels whilst wearing high heels.

  16. OK - Here are some pics!

I couldn't find exact pictures of ALL the different styles I tried on, but in relevant cases I've done my best to find some as close as possible!

    In Kurt Geiger...

I tried a pair very similar to these:

and also ones similar to these:

    In Dune...

I tried on these exact ones:

  17. I'm so excited about my recent shopping experience I've got to tell you all about it! In the past, I have only ever tried on high heels in one shop on one occasion when it was very quiet. However,I have been desperate to see what the sales this summer had to offer, so the other day I decided to go down to a nearby shopping centre to find out! I started in Next but their shoes were in a complete mess as they often are in there in the sales. I moved on to Ecco and found a cute pair of Mary-Janes that I liked. I asked for my size and the friendly assistant didn't seem taken aback in the slightest. Unfortunately, they didn't have my size in stock - pity! I wasn't going to give up, so I headed off to Kurt Geiger where I found numerous amazing pairs of shoes, many of which were not in my size. However, I did manage to find a pair of black pointy stiletto courts and some flat courts that I liked in my size. I took them off the shelf and tried them on in turn. I even walked around the shop a bit in them - nobody seemed to pay much attention! It was such an amazing feeling - very liberating! I told the assistant I would think about the shoes (they weren't quite what I was after) and walked out. My last major stop was Dune. They also had many beautiful pairs of shoes and I found 2 pairs of black round-toed high-heeled courts and a pair of red ballerina flats to try on. To make things more interesting I picked each pair off the shelf one at a time and tried them on at the far end of the shop so that I had to walk all the way back to the shelf in them to pick up the next pair! I was having so much fun! I only noticed one woman give me an extra long look, but apart from that, everyone else seemed to ignore me. Then I spotted THE pair. They were pink, suede, almond-toed sling-backs with part of the toe-box made up of lots of thin silver straps, with a heel height of about 2.5inches. I'd always wanted a pair of sling-backs as I'd never tried any on before. I also hadn't bought any heels that were not black before! I slipped them on and took a walk in them to the mirror. They were amazing! I instantly loved the feeling of the looseness of the sling-back allowing the shoes to slip around a little uncontrollably under my feet. They looked amazing too! I immediately decided these were the ones I was going to buy and was soon on my way with them. I popped into Monsoon briefly on my way back to the car but found nothing I liked. I drove all the way home in my new sling-backs, stopping once on a quiet street to have a little wander around in them! -and then again at the local petrol station to fill up! Nobody noticed, even the cashier at the petrol station who kept looking out over the forecourt as I filled up right outside his window! I had such a good day! I can't wait for my next opportunity to go shopoping for heels. It makes such a difference being able to try them on before you buy them. I would definitely recommend it! Nobody seems to really care. When I manage to sort them out, I'll post some pictures of my purchase and the others I tried on.

  18. I have always been a fan of very cute/feminine/girly styles of high heels. I'd love to be able to wear them out all the time under my regular jeans. Although I am very hesitant to be seen in public wearing obviously girly shoes, I am also reluctant to consider wearing more masculine, less obvious, women's styles (just for the sake of wearing high heels) too - they're just not the styles I want to wear. I was wondering how many of you other guys wear girly styles (courts/pumps/mules/strappy sandals/etc.) out in public? Do you wear them often? What styles do you wear? (any pictures would be good) Do you wear them with your regular clothes? Do you get many adverse reactions?

  19. Hi Everyone! Just thought I'd let you know that I've just been out for the second time in my heels! About an hour ago I realised that I was short of a loaf of bread for breakfast tomorrow morning. I was about to run out to the local Spar when I stopped and realised that, while it was now dark and few people would be out, this would be a great opportunity for my second public street heeling session! I slipped on my favourite black 2.5" Mary-Janes and went for a walk! There were more people out than I thought! -But nobody seemed to notice the noise my heels were making and nobody seemed to be staring. There were quite a few people in the store too! A group of young girls (who, I admit, I did try to stay clear of!), an older couple, and a couple of other guys. I just casually walked in, browsed around the shelves until I found what I was looking for, queued up at the tills, paid and left. I'm not sure if anyone even noticed I was wearing high heeled ladies' shoes! If they did it would have been behind my back because I didn't see anybody look at me in an odd way or do a double take. My walk back home again was equally uneventful despite passing a few people on the pavement! I'm slowly starting to believe that I could really start to enjoy doing this more often! I've got a long way to go before I venture out on an extended trip in the middle of the day, but I'm working on it!

  20. Hi Heelshhboy! I wouldn't worry too much just yet. I have been to their shop several times in the past and spoken to them on the 'phone. They are normally very friendly and helpful. They ordered in a pair of Seduce 109 heels for me once very quickly. They even ordered in 2 pairs in different sizes just so I could make sure I bought the right size at no extra cost! I would just give them a 'phone and ask if they've got your order and what it's status is.
