  1. For what it's worth: According to an article I read recently, most of the components of the bizarre fashion scene--- of what to wear when and how, and by whom--- was begun by the court of King Louis XIV (1638-1715), of France. Before that, it seems, the few folks, who could afford having different clothes to change into, wore whatever they wanted. I wonder if Louis' court invented the runway, too. Hmmm. Painter

  2. Thank you, Jeff. for visiting and replying. Yes, I do take lots of pictures! LOL As for your bears, they remind me of my three cats, only the bears don't make messes. I nag and nag my cats, but they persist, like young children and many college students, in leaving trails of disorder behind them. (I wonder if I cut off their allowance...) Painter

  3. Hi, welcome to our goup. I've bought all the pumps that Silber sells, and they seem quite sturdy; but I wear them only in my home, so street-wearing might call for caution. In my opinion, though, the Silber pumps are well worth the money for fit and appearance. I wear a 13D man's shoe and find I can wear most women's 13Ms comfortably, with some stretching and repeated wearings. Unfortunately there are few 13Ws around, so my trusty stretcher is very useful for widening the Ms. Bubba is right-on about the variations between manufacturers. Only by trying shoes on can you know whether they will work for you. As for keeping secrets from your wife, I agree with Micha: it's a bad idea. It'll create distance, ultimately harming your relationship, and she is likely to find out anyway, if she doesn't already know. Painter

  4. Hi, guys,

If you're a fan of all-black clothing with black stilettos, check out my photos at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Rainbows_legs_feet_shoes_two/

Click on Files, then on any of the three folders marked, "All-black."

In two folders, I'm wearing flat-black pumps with four-inch heels; in the third one, I have on the glossy-black ankle-wrap sandals, with five-inch heels.

    Enjoy,

    Painter

PS. If you like what you see, kindly drop me a line about the specifics of what you liked, using the Yahoo address on the site.

    Thank you.

  5. Barney, thank you for the heads-up. The shoes look very, veryappealing. A strange thing is happening to me now, as I write this: my hand, as if it has a mind of its own, is reaching for the keys to type something other than HHPlace.org in the browser. It's taking all my will-power to finish this note. I'm scared; where is my hand taking me to? Paint

  6. Hi, Jeff,

LOL at your pet bears. (I have a fantasy of them coming alive from 1-2AM and exercising, before resuming their innocuous poses.)

The sandals are shown at http://www.sexyshoes.com/p3453.html

(Curiously the shoes are not shown with the straps tied over the arches, yielding a much more graceful look than the one with the ankle-ties.)

I've bought several different kinds of shoes from this company and am very pleased with most of them. In addition, they have a shop-by-size option that makes it easy to look around the site.

  7. As always, guys, thank you so much for your appreciations and support.

Jeff  , I love that you're fascinated with my avatar: me, too! The over-all look of the shoes on me is okay, but, for some reason, this particular shot stands out from the rest of the same shoe.

This is one of the reasons I enjoy photography so much; the results are always a surprise. Same photo target, same light, different angle yields a very different result.

Luxxyheels  , may a loathed, long-forgotten relative die and leave you half- a-million dollars, providing you spend it only on heels.

PS. As much as I've come to enjoy wearing pumps, my first love still seems to be sandals. I bought a pair of sandals, with four-inch shoes, from Sexy Shoes last year and photographed them. The straps to hold them on are above the arches, so that the shoes can be fastened from around the ankles or over the arches. At the time, I used the ankle-straps to hold them on and wasn't thrilled with the results.

A couple of weeks ago, I put them on with the straps over the arches and photographed them. What a difference! Take a look:

[i wore them bare-legged, not expecting much, so I will wear pantythose next time, to hide the scratches, etc.]

  8. As a former high-school teacher, I (to use a 60s expression) groove on it when someone wants to know something! :P

Thanks to your and Dawn pushing pumps, I have quite a few pairs now and, sometimes, mix the credentials, as well as the images, of one with another.

Anyway, I believe the shoe in the avatar is a more-rounded-toe stiletto, five-inch heel, from Pierre Silber. I have the same shoe in black, and in fire-engine red. I posted quite a few images of the red ones by themselves, as well as with me wearing them on:

Click on Files, then on to the folder, "Fire-engine-red pumps."

  9. :P Ah, Jeff, you are one supportive, articulate man. Thank you for your welcome appreciations and encouragement, as well as great suggestions for new photo-ops. I re-shot some all-black poses today, wearing the black pumps. I had to do this because I've had difficulty gauging accurately how much light I needed to have falling on my all-black ensembles to get decent results. But I'm learning! In any case, some of the images I've got so far are spectacular! I've posted a few here to whet the appetites of the guys. In time I will compose several folders for my Photobucket site, featuring different aspects of my all-black adventures. As I used to tell a therapist of mine, "Watch this space!" Painter PS. On the look-out for an ankle chain.
