  1. Just got these from Bebe. The style is Ivy. It has a 6-1/2" Heel and a 1-1/2" Platform giving me a 5" rise for my size 10. Very comfortable and easy to walk in.

Great pair of heels HiHeeler. Good platform height, nice shape to both the heel and toe plus the straps add to the rock'n'roll style. Did you match your trouser print to that of the shoe?

  2. Hi All, Love all your recent purchases, especially SleekHeels courts. A pic of my latest pair is attached; about as high as I can walk in without making a fool of myself yet still quite comfortable. Only got to wear them briefly whilst shopping but hope to have a more to write about soon. Happy heeling to all, WobblyHeight.

  3. For me, ultimately it has to be style driven and fit in with my outfit (not that I get that right very often...). Height is important and can compensate to a certain extent for a lack of style, but a flat can be just as attractive. Also I'd suggest it's even more important for a guy than a girl to be able to walk in heels well; if you couldn't mix it with a cat-walk model then lose some inches!!! For me 6" isn't pretty, 5" maybe on a good day but 4" is fine.

  4. Hi All, I've not posted on HHPlace for a while due to personal & work commitments unfortunately. I was even wondering if I'd lost interest... However a brief trip the other weekend re-affirmed my love of the 'past time' Anyway, I was wearing a pair of black, mid-heel MaryJane's from Tescos (hardly high fashion, sorry!) with quite a square toe that made them really comfortable. The low'ish heel was useful considering my lack of recent practice. A slow browse around the shoes depts of New Look and Dorothy Perkins was confidence building, especailly as it was near the end of shopping hours and so quiet. Onto Next and I found a beautiful pair of Snakeskin Courts in my size which I was all ready to ask to try on. However the two young'ish female assistants had obviously seen my heels by then and were looking a little surprised / alarmed / taken-aback. This knocked my confidence a bit and so I started out. At that point I saw a brief smirk from one of them, so my cussed side surfaced and I deliberately strutted out as prominently and noisely as possible. I guess this had some kind of impact as when I looked back from outside the shop the smirking girl was at the door and we exchanged a friendly wave :-) That helped restore my confidence somewhat and I rounded off the trip by continuing to wear my heels whilst filling up at a petrol station. So there you are, not very exciting compared to some but I enjoyed it and hope not to leave it so long next time. I guess in the end, you can take the boy out of his heels, but you can't take the heels out of the boy :-) Happy heeling to all.

  5. I visted a Dorothy Perkins concession today and the older lady who served was SO kind and polite. I was wearing my 4" black courts with slim jeans and once she'd decided I was 'serious' then she couldn't have been more helpful. She helped me try various heels (such as http://www.dorothyperkins.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33053&storeId=12552&productId=2235971&langId=-1&sort_field=Relevance&categoryId=208738&parent_categoryId=208609&sort_field=Relevance&pageSize=200&refinements=Shoe%20Size{1}~[8]^category~[208948|208738]&noOfRefinements=2) and gave honest advice on sizing etc. She related that occasionally other guys have come in and bought heels, including recently some very flashy sliver platform sandals. The younger shop girls looked slightly surprised but made no comment, so hopefully their collegue's great attitude will rub off on them. It still takes courage to try in a shop but experiences like this definitely make it easier!!!

  6. Hi I'd just like to say I wish I had your courage to try before I buy, I still get red faced when in any shoe shops buying heels without trying, thinking all eyes are on me. As for going outside, thats still a overpowering wish that grows stronger each day.

LEGS777777, I've tried on heels 4 times now in UK shops and have not had a negative response yet; once politely but with slight bemusement, twice with simple courtesy and once with outright encouragement (though to be fair that was a more 'alternative' shop). Even if the next experience is poor, then 1 in 5 isn't bad. There's lots of good advice in this thread which I won't repeat, just follow the bits that feel right. However I will say that walking ('ish haha) out of a shop in 4" black patent courts and spending the rest of the evening walking along Oxford Street, then attending a concert (nice 'n dark + good for seeing over people's heads...) was an incredible experience. Good luck, hope it works out well for you.

  7. Congratulations Confused for moving forward so quickly. To be honest you don't sound like the sort of guy who stays confused about anything for very long. I've gone through the 'confused stage' but am now in the 'what on earth am I going to do about it stage'. I need to take strength from your example!!!

  8. For me I guess I've always appreciated a well dressed woman, but it crystallized into a love of heels about 5 years ago. I was in Spain & saw from a little way off an attractive woman wearing very high & delicate heels. Her poise + the shape & line it gave to her legs was utterly mesmerizing. Since then my appreciation of heels + girls & guys who wear them well has grown. Sadly it will never happen, but oh to look just for second like that woman in Spain.....
