Its a mind game, and once your mind decides to play the game, you are in for the most fun possible at anything you do in life. Then you won't be able to wait to do it again the next time. Everytime i read a new thread about someone that have weared their heels outside for the first time ( or any other time for that matter) i get pretty jealous on that person an thinks, Someday that will be me, it sounds rly nice to wear them outside, especially for the first time. that day will come for me! the question is just when? But when it does i sure will let u know that ive done it, and once ive done it i probably won't stop

I have been wearing heels outside off and on since high school, so while this site didn't give me the courage to do so, it's always a great thing to know that there are others out there who like skirts and heels as I do, and that they are out there living thelr lives as well.

There are a number of other members from Sweden that wear their heels out and about all over your country. Why not try to solicit some advice from them about what, when and where to wear your heels in public? There isn't anyone that could give you better advice as to how to go about it than they are.

I safely say that the first time out is a little scary. You don't want anybody seing it, but another side of you want people to se it. It is rewarding when you finally do it. I have not yet had any comments good or bad.

Were in Sweden are you? I am in Stockholm. If you like we could meet and share some experiences.

Hehe ok, rly no comments? have you weared your heels outside much? i mean stockholm is crowded with ppl ;D and younger ppl, (ppl at my age) are pretty prejudice, Atleast where i grew up.. so that is one thing that makes me even more scared to do this...We could start emailing, and u could tell me a little bit more about your experience of heeling in sweden(for starter, meeting up is a little bit much for me ) Btw im from Falun.

I wear my heesl out on and off. Not every day. In a way it is better to wear them out among many people in a big city. Living in a smaller city there is a higher risk that you meet somebody you know.

Yesterday I wore heels and a skirt to a local restaurant where I had a beer. Today I wore another skirt and heels out to the local grocery store in the area where I live.

After losing my courage for a while, I finally said to myself, "just go"... I ventured out this evening to run a couple errands in my black frye boots.. 3 and 1/2" heel with a pair of long straight leg jeans that I just cut off at the end and slit the sides up about 2 "... I think what did it was a complement I got on my regular "guy" cowboy boots with the same jeans (which I've been wearing alot lately) while getting lunch last sunday..

It just came naturally to me to wear high heel boots out in public. For the first five years of my heeling, I had just one pair of black knee high vintage 80s style boots (straight leg shaft) with a 4" heel. At first it was just a thrill to wear my black boots on at all behind closed doors in my bedroom, then progress to taking a few steps out into the living room and kitchen when no one is around. I made it even further by walking down the hall outside of our apartment to dispose of trash down a garbage chute. Then I took a big step by venturing out of the apartment at night when there is no one around, going out in small trips to remote areas. It was simple outings, like returning a tape rental to a local Blockbuster Video, ordering fast food from a drive through window, or going to a post office lobby after hours and mailing letters or buying stamps from a vending machine. I became even more daring by paying utility bills in person at my local cable company or auto insurance office during their last hour before closing. Since at that time of night, I would be all alone or one other person waiting in line. For the most part I kept challenging myself to go further and go more in public. It was never enough to keep my boots indoors. In more recent years with my current boots from my avatar, I ventured out during early morning to pump gas, or drop off shirts at my local dry cleaners, or a quick purchase at a convenience store. As of this last week, I made my most daring outings in boots in broad daylight with my wife by taking her to Starbucks, post office, crowded grocery stores, even the movie theater. So there is still room for more adventurous outings. But so far my wife is my only family member that knows about my boots. So it came to me naturally but this web site has encouraged me to keep on heeling. As mentioned by other members, it takes time and practice. Take small steps at first, and over time your courage will increase.

My biggest first step was purchase my first pair of high heels. So far i haven't had the courage to wear them outside. After reading all poster about other doing I feel that soon I will build the courage to wear them outside.

It helped, but one day I just said the heck with it. I will never be completly happy if I don't start just being myself. What I found out was that it wasn't such a big deal.

I'm fairly certain I will soon even though I am fairly new at this (less than a year). I have to be a bit careful though, so wherever I do go out, it wont be in my local area. The potential problems it would cause would jeopardize some individuals associated with me in a negative way. I'll have to wait a couple years before I do it locally. Also, not sure the wife will be on board even in two years. She doesn't wear anything over a 1/2" heel.

In a way its half and half. I actually found out about this website from a thread on www.femalefirst.co.uk where they were talking about high heels in general and guys wearing them about midway through. Someone linked to this forum there and thats how I found out about this little corner of the web.

While there was of course the women that basically shot down the concept as being absolutely abhorrent, ironically most of the women basically said if you enjoy it go for it. Make it work for you and mix and match to make your own style, whatever that may be.

I'll say this, no matter what you plan on doing, SOMEONE is going to find it disgusting, or a complete turnoff. This is a fact, you could have a fetish for hello kitty cartoons and someone will think its the end of humanity as we know it. The reality I've found is, by and large 99% of people don't care enough to take time out of their day. The 1% that do say something in general just don't know what bucket to assign you in. Of course there are those that are hostile, but high heels put a lot of inertia on a very small area. I'm tempted to go to a female defense class and ask them for some pointers. Never hurts to be prepared, though as my old sifu said, the best warrior is the one that has never needed to fight. I recommend Miyamoto Musashi and the Book of Five Rings if you've never read it. But I digress.

I've dealt with being the "odd person out" since high school, after 11 years I could give a shit less about what other people think of me. Most of the time I just want to be reassured I'm not some total sexual deviant with what I discovered largely by accident. Both the femalefirst forum and this one basically gave me the push I needed to say, "Yep, all is well in Denmark, full steam ahead and damn the torpedos, lets give this a go." If you're worried about people noticing, well, most don't notice, just do it. The fear is all in your mind. Fear is your enemy. Learn to control your reptilian brain or at least ignore it long enough to get over the fear.

Now granted I'm not married, no kids, and well the relationship I just got out of ended not because of the heel wearing or anything, so I'm in a unique situation to present this to anyone that comes across me as being an integral part of who I am. I can offer zero advice to any of the people that have significant others or commitments. I feel for you all though, but I really don't feel qualified to offer much more than an ear to hear you out and to say hope it all works out in the end.

The other night I finally convinced myself to wear them to pick up some fast food I had ordered. They were only a pair of wedge sandals, 3 inch heel, single 5/8" strap across the toes, dark brown leather with black heels/soles, little wider strap across the instep, and I had my toes painted a very subtle color called Glazed Sand. Jeans, of course. I am sure I never would have attempted this if not for the stories and encouragement I have been reading here. Thanks to all.

I have been wearing hh sandals in public since 1996, and even to this day I sometimes get nervous when venturing "out." But I do it because I enjoy the look, feel and sound of wearing heels. When outside, you may get a few looks or stares but these generally tend to be very minimal. A few days ago the wife and I spent several hours at a very popular casino nearby. I wore a pair of 2 inch slip on thongs with a kitten heel. As best I could tell, only one person gave any notice, a lady who stared at my sandals for a while but never said anything. My advice, get out and try it - see how it goes for you. Yes you WILL be nervous, but it won't be as bad as you think, and it just might be fun!! sf

I voted some ago but now have more positive experience with just doing it. I have posessed heels in some sort of fashion for almost 30 years, but only in the last 10 have I ventured out. Times have changed for sure, so I wore boots and heels before being affiliated with the HH Place. However I do feel I have gained much confidence from all our forum members to just go and do it! Well it has been so worthwhile! Just as SF stated "My advice, get out and try it - see how it goes for you. Yes you WILL be nervous, but it won't be as bad as you think, and it just might be fun!!" Last week I wore heeled boots or sneakers everyday while in Victoria and lower mainland BC, no issues. Not to mention that I also had a french manicure too! It was awesome! Went out in the same sandals the other night to pick up some food again. It was definitely easier the second time. No one noticed that I am aware of. Took a bigger step today. Wore the same shoes to the Home Depot. Much bigger audience than the food pick up scenario. Just strode in confidently like I always do and went about my business. I couldn't even tell you if anyone noticed. Being out in public is a very different experience than walking around in the dark or in the house. It was a very self rewarding experience. What a pleasure to be able to do the normal things you do in the shoes you enjoy wearing. Thanks to all again.

As for how some women view guys wearing heels: Last Sunday, I was in Nordstrom's looking at shoes. I found a pair of really nice sandals (Marlina by Vaneli), and as I was looking at them I was approached by a sales lady. I asked if she had them in a size 11. She went to check, and came back with a pair in size 12 - no size 11. I told her that the shoes were for me, and asked if it would be a problem to try them on in the store. She smiled and said "absolutey no problem." I tried on the sandals, and as I did we made small talk. I told her that it may seem strange that a guy wants to wear womens shoes, and she said "not at all," they occasionally get men wearing womens footwear. Then she said, "besides I think it's cute," and chuckled. My take was that she had no issues with men wearing heels. The other folks in the area took a few glances but did not really take much notice. Oh, as an aside, the size 12 was too big... bummer... see ya, sf

I voted on this quite awhile ago, but I figured I would give an update on my thought's and where I am at the present. Well after some long and hard thinking and looking and going out here and there but never really anyplace public I broke the ice (so to speak) by going to a dentist visit in some MJ's I had just bought! Was I nervious, you bet I was. Mainly for the fact that the dentist was a male. After seeing a few of the women in the office and them complmenting me on my shoe's that made it eaiser. After this visit it was off to the race's! Now I wear heel's for the most part when I want and where I want! My only fear is running into someone I know (mainly faimly or kids friends pearent's) and there reaction's. Most of the reaction's I get are nill, I have gotten a few stares, but that is to be expected. Like a theripist told me one time. Even women get staired at in a good and bad way. There is always going to be someone out there that does not like the way you look. So with that I just do my thing! The only thought I put into it is "Would this be a place a women would wear heels?" Those are just my 2 cents!
