I do, always black at this point. No reaction outside yet. Wife not all that happy though. When she was fussing about the black I asked her if she wanted me to change it to dark red!!

It's all about the heel!

I wear toenail polish in public 24/7/365 and get a lot of very positive comments from women. I always wear bright red or hot pink. My favorite colors are OPI Big Apple Red and OPI You're a Pisa Work (hot pink). My toes are always in open toe women's sandals of various heel heights and therefore everyone can see them. I was on a train from San Diego to San Juan Capistrano the other day and was wearing black women's sandals with a 2 inch heel. The Conductor was a woman about 40 year old. I had my feet up on the foot rest and when she was checking tickets, she noticed my red toenails. She said "I love you nails. That is the perfect color". We chatted about nail polish and pedicures for about 5 minutes and she slipped-off her very utilitarian closed-toe shoe to show me her red toenails. We compared the color of our nails and talked for a while. Don't be afraid to show your red toenails in public. It is a very liberating experience. It is a little thing that I do 24/7 that makes me feel really femme. I also get professional pedicures in a nail salon every 10 days to my toes are always perfectly pedicured and wearing red or pink nail polish. Google for Chuck Liddel (UFC champion) and Scott Speed (Nascar champion) and you will find that they wear colored nail polish on their toes. It really isn't a big deal. Jamie

Nice point! I know Chuck Liddell lets his daughter paint his...pink mostly. I started doing this recently (last 2 pedi's), and have gone clear w/ French Tips (which I love). Bi-weekly pedi's. Maybe next time I'll do a dark red?

Walking in ultra-highs because it's exciting...and it is!!

I am sure that most of you have heard of OPI Nail Polish. The President of the company Suzi, runs a blog on the site. Please check out:

Toe Be or Not Toe Be

Rockers do it. Athletes do it. Even the guy in the next cubicle might do it. We're talking men wearing nail color on their toes -- and you'd be surprised at how popular the trend is. Think if it as "ink" for your toes, guys -- choose from super-bright shades (including blue, green, yellow) and dark tones, especially black (OPI Black Onyx Nail Lacquer is a favorite among the male-nail set). Plus, if your toenails could use a little improvement, Feet by OPI offers Nail Strengthener in Black -- not only does it look hot, it's formulated with liquid nylon to strengthen nails and help them look their best. Maybe it's just one toe, maybe all ten - but isn't it time you strutted your stuff?

Can't say I've exposed my colored toes in public (yet), but I did have an experience where I had my fingernails painted red, but the reaction was pretty minimal. Otherwise, I've done clear and French pedicures with no reaction at all.

I just did mine in a color called Bijou Bronze, made by a brand called Milani which is available at Walgreens. I like how it looks - light (natural) pinks or earth tones are all I do, when I wear polish.

As I've posted elsewhere, in the summer months I regularly wear toe-nail polish. Usually dark colours, black, brown or wine, but have worn blood-red on occasion. Haven't tried a french pedicure yet but will be getting one soon prior to vacation. I usually wear sandals so my toes are 'on view' - no point hiding them! As for reactions, virtually none other than my wife who does not like it (not 'manly' in her eyes) but, to hell, I enjoy it and life's too short. Positive reaction from my manicurist who regularly paints my finger-nails but I think that should be expected, and also from my adult son.:o

Me too ! Unfortunately I've got a fungal infection so they're all splitting :o As soon as they're sorted I'll be getting a french manicure. Normally I like 'em bold - my favourite being metallic blue (max factor blue energy). Davemcwish

If you do decide to show it in public, you will get a lot of compliments from women.

I like to wear polish on my toenails, usually bright red. Didn't show it in public yet.

Very nice. Have you ever considered getting a professional pedicure in a nail salon? I get a pedicure every 10 days and it is a wonderful experience. I am just one of the girls at the nail salon and always come in to the salon wearing red or pink polish on my toes and always leave the salon wearing red or pink polish.

Today's toes..........(but not very expertly applied).:o

  • 1 month later...

Went to a professional nail technician and had a pedicure and french-polish which I'm highly delighted with. Also in the photos are some wedge sandals with 3 1/2 inch heel I got from M&Co in their sale for only £10 (had to extend the ankle straps though). Note to FF2: yes, I'm coming round to wedges :o , but still reserve the right to express my opinion :-? .

My favourite colour is bright red or pink, depending on the colour of the rest of my make up. I always trying mixing the colour of my make up, my nail polish with the rest of my outfit.

I like to wear polish usualy a dark metallic red or my favorite garnet and i will wear it in public.the trick is to cut the nails nicely keep the callus cut down on the heel and toes and wear polish put on by a pro. I always do the pedi, but I have the polish put on by my nail tech.so my feet look nice. I have only had complements and mostly from females!!! The color you pick is up to you. I personally would not wear black but im not goth either. Scotty4fun.

Well lets see I would have to say that I have been painting my toes nails for about 12 years now. All kind of colors, but I'm realy in to the reds. I think that the color makes my nails sexie and hot. Painted toe nails are for me. :-))

Hi, I have been getting pedicures for years now. Painted toes are essential for me - they look nice and mean I can wear whichever shoes take my fancy (I have a lot of peep toes). I wear heels of some description every day (all day) and I would never want to be in a position where if I had to remove my shoes I didn't have nicely pedicured toes. Toe nails are pretty ugly things - I think they were made for painting!? Cheers Heel-Lover

I have kept my legs smooth and moisturized and been painting my toes since about 1995. There's nothing quite like going for a walk and seeing the sun dance across your nicely-polished toes!! HappyinHeels:wavey:

I have also painted my toenails since about 1 year back. The same goes for my fingernails that are painted most of the time. There is hardly any comments at work. Besides my painted nails I also wear earrings every day to work. Since a couple of months I have started to wear eihter large hoops or dangling earrings. Some days I wear quite big dangling earrings you normally would only see women wear. Not many comments about this at work. :silly:

Best regards, Stefan
