My big toe nails became distorted and grew back rather thick, I assumed I had dropped something on each and not remembered what. However I was also wearing hh with pointy toes. Dr. Shoe Posted December 21, 2002 Share Posted December 21, 2002 My wife is plagued by just such a problem. The cause could be a result of a fungal problem or wearing poorly fitting shoes.
