Second Visit

Recommended Posts

Puffer 1. I was referring to things "as a whole", "The bigger picture", not directly at 1 person. 2. I did also say, "in my own opinion", which of course were all allowed to have, and thats all I was doing, just expressing an opinion, isnt it those expressed oinions that make discussions interesting? I go back to saying nothing, thats seems to work best.

The Home Situation

Heels+Mother = accepted, although her comments about accepting my fem side are cringe worthy to the extreme.

Heels+Step Dad = not acceptable. Heels on wooden floors make too much noise for him to be able to ignore it.

Fortunately I've got a pair of boots that I can walk quiet in so I can avoid flats, at least for now.

Getting Out

I haven't been out much as have been asked not to go out in heels, which doesn't help.

I am hoping to make my first visit to London one Tuesday during September so will get to spend 5 hours around the Euston Station area.

Haven't decided where I'm going yet but will only be window shopping and/or visiting Regents Park.

Out in heels? Of course. http://oy2.biz/birthdayboots2.jpg

Okay so Long Jeans covering the boots and heels, expect when I'm seated is discreet, although the sound of the heels does turn a few heads. My first trip to London was a bit of a wash out - literally. Not much to report as boots were far too discreet and the weather distracted most people more than the sound of my boots. Out in my Tan Boots in the pub tomorrow - my regular safe place. I'll have to save a few more pennies and visit London again, hopefully I'll get better weather and wear shorter jeans.

May not have made much effort in London but back in my safe pub in St Helens I wore a short black zip fronted dress, skinny black jeans and black ankle boots - not the most bloke look but subtle. My girl friends approved. I did walk around a bit and didn't notice any comments from anyone else. Think this may be my new pub outfit. I think to wear shorter jeans and show heels properly in public I'll need a bit more confidence, hopefully from having someone with me. Don't do too well when I'm on my own, at least nothing too obvious. London usually gets better weather than up here in the North. I just picked a day when the weather turned and I left the sun behind.

Wearing shorter jeans may get you more comments, but London is noted for its rainy weather and fog. You just have to take the chance on that.

Cheers---

Dawn HH

You've been watching too many of the old Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes films, Dawn! London has variable weather but is never particularly wet for long (unlike, say, Manchester) and 'proper' fog is a rarity. And, since clean air legislation came in more than 50 years ago and the burning of coal tailed right off, there are no longer any 'pea souper' smogs when smoke and fog combine to produce nil visibility and a real threat to health. Oh yes - Jack the Ripper hasn't been seen around lately either! :chuckle:

A new dress, shorts and ankle boots - and why not.

I may not be allowed to wear them much around the house but I've still got to treat myself.

My 18 year old niece was staying over and approved. She even thought I should go out in the dress and stiletto knee high boots. Don't have confidence for that, especially when on my own.

This is a picture of me on the dress, which I wore in my local bar, but with black jeans. I don't try to stand out too much as I made that mistake in one bar and 2 girls took exception, made false allegations against me and got me barred. Sticking to safe places with friends now and being a bit less obvious.

Okay so I don't hide my 3" or 4" heels when i'm in my regular bar any more and often have knee high boots over jeans.

I'll hopefully be out in the dress again soon. I'm usually out in St Helens, Merseyside, which is a medium sized town with a slowly expanding gay scene. I'll hopefully get into Liverpool soon but will wait until I have friends to keep me company so that I can enjoy myself a bit more. Going solo isn't much fun.

Hi all. I'm still around and still out and about in heels. Work: I'm no longer working in an office but now on the shop floor. I'm in 3inch heels most days and most of my shifts although an hour or two in trainers is sometimes needed if I'm on my feet for too long. Pubs: As I'm in heels at work and on buses then pubs get the rHeel me treatment. I usually visit the gay/lesbian bars as I feel a little safer in there but I have gone heeling a very straight bar in a Liverpool suburb. The bar staff and manageress and a few of the regulars had no issue with me but last Saturday I met the "blokes with issues". I was just sitting quietly in a corner of the bar talking to my friends who are pub regulars. a) Manager and another customer just make a few jokes which I just join in with :silly: The staring guy. One of my friends had a word with him as he was just staring at my heels but too afraid to say anything c) The crying guy. One guy had a word with me as he was uncomfortable with me in heels but seemed more upset that anything else. d) The pusher. My first physical hassle. This guy twice came over to me and gave me a few pushes to the arm/chest. He didn't say much and didn't hang around either. Again a male friend who accepts my being different is looking forward to making sure he doesn't cause me any trouble if he takes issue with me again. The oddity of this defensive friend is that we are absolute opposites but despite this we accept each other's rights to have their views and just get on with life. It's the ignorant, judgemental people I struggle with but I avoid trouble. My blog is still being updated from time to time. See my signature for a link.

The support I get from my friends and work colleagues is brilliant. As well as wearing near 4" heels daily in work now, I've started keeping them on for the 2 buses I get home - and in the pub for a pint between buses. My trousers are no longer super long to try to hide the heel but there is an inch showing while standing and the heel is on full show when walking. I'm still careful about when and where I go heeling but I am slowly getting more confident. My page at blog.benico.biz is still being updated from time to time.
