What's a "Sweeny Hole" ?

It was a small hatch in the belly of some Dakotas through which the aircrew or some hapless paratrooper had to squeeze himself to exit the aircraft.

It was affectionately called a “sweeny hole” because of the perceived likeness to the hatch-way at the foot of Sweeny Todd’s barber chair.

Todd, a 19th century English barber, would cut the throats of his customers and slide them through this hole and down into his basement. Once there, the well drained victim became the main ingredient in Todd’s meat pie manufacturing enterprise.

:D:(:(
