It really comes to something when the fetish fair thread has been hijacked to a trains thread. Perhaps all the platform 9 trainspotters will turn up in pvc or rubber!! Anyway I shall definitely be there, but we need to sort out things beforehand.

The venue is the Nightingale Club at the intersection of Lower Essex St and Kent St. How about meeting in the bar at 1230 ? Place is open from 11am until 5pm

Be good if you can make it, Dr. Shoe! However, the bar area tends to be a bit crowded. There's some seating upstairs, which is a bit quieter, and it might be easier to meet up there. Alternatively, I'll be a point of contact, so PM me for my mobile number, and I'll organise everyone's arrival. How about that?

Bad news! Ruth is in a pretty bad way (menopause- she'll hate me for putting that in) and acupunture helps to ease some of the most severe symptoms so the money I had aside for the Brum trip I've given to her for her treatment. Therefore I won't be able to make it. Someone please take plenty of pics! (If anyone sees a leather catsuit for £50 that would fit a size 14-16 or someone 5'10" with a 32" waist please get it for me and I'll pay you back!)

Gentlemen, please!

I'll be taking my digital camera, and a 450-shot memory card on the Sunday. I think the club itself is 'no cameras', but we'll see.

I'm planning to go to the Fetish Fair on Sunday. Xaphod will be driving up to my place (settee already booked) and we will drive over Sunday morning. I cant make Saturday, nor can Xaphod. I wont be on line again until Saturday night so if anybody needs to make contact either phone me on the mobile or send me a txt message. I have sent a similar PM to Francis. See you Sunday.

Shame that I wont be able to make it folks, as some kind soul modified my chariot for me this afternoon, and a replacement wont arrive till Monday. Have a good outing and I look forward to looking to seeing some pictures on the board, (always assuming my fleet manager doesnt kill me when I give him the good news on Monday).

so have you, but I bust the arse in mine

no, honestly, I won't have enough to buy one anyway, otherwise I would have gladly helped you with a purchase

Actually all I've got are PVC ones. Very nice, but I do want a leather suit. Thanks for the sentiment though.

A quick report on brum. I met up with Andy at New Street and we had a quick beer at the Bridge Tavern and a slice of pizza at Sharro. Yam Yam joined us about an hour later, and we spent the rest of the afternoon checking out the shoe shops in Brum centre. Jeff Bains, Barrattsx2, Shelleys, and the Oasis centre were stars on the list of attractions. I was wearing my 4 1/4" Barrats 1" square heel boots. A record for me, I didn't buy any shoes  But Andy, who had been looking for a suitable pair to wear outside, picked up a very smart pair of 3 1/4" block heel boots from "Next to nothing". After all that shopping some more beer and a meal at Pizza Hut was in order. Then I gave everyone a lift back to Yam's place as we picked up some more cans of beer, ready to descend on an unsuspecting Calv at Nuneaton. We got slightly lost and parked about 1/2 a mile from Calv's but I donned my 3 1/2" cowboys to collect the car while everyone chatted with xaphod and Calv who had just got back. Then it was time to hit Nunneaton centre on a mini pub crawl (we only had time for one!) I donned my 4 1/4" Bronx stilettos for the occasion. Xaphod wore his 5" western Ranch cowbows, and our combined ensembles seemed to meet the approval of the two very burly bouncers on the door of the pub as well as a few glances and winks from a hen party. After that it was back to Calv's for some more tins and endless discussions about shoes and other things before Calv, being the angel he is managed to find enough bedding for 5 people at very short notice. Thanks Calv! On Sunday morning we were joined by Francis and took two cars to the fetish fair in Brum centre. I wore my leather trousers and bronx stils but star outfit had to go to Xaphod with 5" stil thighboots, leather shorts, leather coat, and cowboy hat. Beat that! More beer and lunch at the fair was followed by talking to a few people there and looking at the stalls. We met one guy who could walk well in ballet boots. We gave him the board URL, and hope he looks in. The fair was an experience for me. I felt more comfortable in 4" heels shopping in broad daylight in Birmingham, but I'm sure I would get used to the various fetishes on display, and if I went again I'd enjoy it more. The people there were all really nice and quite easy to talk to.

The day was pretty well summed up by Firefox. I wore my black leather trousers wih criss-cross side lacings (bondage theme there, I suspect), black t-shirt and black leather waistcoat (again, this had criss-crossed lacings down the sides), medium length leather jacket and a black leather (more Australian style) hat. Started the day in my 4.25" block heels with pointed toe and after viewing some of the wares on display decided to don my 6.5" stils with 2.5" platform knee length boots and gained a few complimentary looks. I even demonstrated my ballets to a few people, two of which tried them. The first wouldn't even attempt to stand up, the second (dressed as a schoolgirl) stood in them perfectly, even if she didn't try walking due to the fact that my shoes were too big. A new recruit to the ballets has been found, as the look on her face said "Wow! I gotta get a pair of these!" On the ballet front, it is true, we did meet a guy that can walk in them. While everyone in the group was admiring from a distance, I decided to grab the bull by the horns and go talk to the guy. Turns out that he's not been wearing them that long but could walk in them after a shirt while (wish I could). The pair he was wearing, he'd only picked up the day before from Punitive shoes. Reckoned to have taken 2 and a half months to get them, but he said well worth it. The day finished with me escorting Andy and Yamyam to New Street station where we dived for our respective destinations, Andy went straight away as his train was leaving 3 mins from arrival, Yam wandered down to his and I went gricing (photographing trains). If I didn't bring back some photos from Birmingham the wife wouldn't have believed me  All in all, a short, but enjoyable day. I shall going to the next fair and this time with more money in my pocket, well money that's mine anyway

Well, everyone's summed up the sensible stuff, so it only remains to mention the sillier bits of the day. A highlight for me was following Xaphod's hat all the way from Nuneaton to Birmingham, as it seemed to know where to go  All right, we didn't know what Calv drove, and so all we could see on the road in front was a small car containing a large hat! Oh, and I got my first compliment on my heels ever! Considering I was last in a line of the five of us, me being spotted and complemented was quite a boost to the ego. All in all, an excellent two days, and well worth it. Perhaps we'll see some more people next time. Oh, and thanks for the sleep-over, Calv!

I've now had time to draw breath after a very hectic weekend and hope you folks who had to sleep on the floor/settee/mattress have worked the pain out of your systems. Mind you some of the folks we saw at the fetish fair would have probably have enjoyed that  Anyway I thoroughly enjoyed Sundays visit to the BizBaz which opened my eyes wide. First time I've seen a French Maid with a beard! Mind you the bloke wearing the ballet boots (sorry I cant remember the name) takes the prize for the highest heels. My Red or Dead 4" stilletto knee boots paled in comparism though at least I could climb stairs in them. A good day out and a good environment to try out some avant-garde heeling. Certainly I'll pay another visit at some time. Thanks YamYam for the idea.

What about the "Nun" in that plastic get up and the woman wearing a see through top with only nipple rings  Calv's silver stiletto boots were pretty cool too; sorry I forgot to mention those. These fetish fairs really teach you to appreciate other people's ideas.

You only saw one  ?

True. And let's not forget Xaphod's thigh-length boots. I spotted people pointing him out to each other a couple of times

Well i'm still alive after giving my fleet manager the good news (the chariots a right off - anybody want an 8 week old focus with a slight dent in the nearside ?), and now 'mobile' in a Ford Ka for time being. It sounds like everybody had a good time, its a shame i missed it. Will there be another trip out ? Paul

I might be going to Birmingham again in the next month or two, haven't decided which yet

Anyone who wishes to tag along is more than welcome!

I'm up for that one, if I can make myself free in time! Let me know!
