Hi Welcome to the forum,, only advice i can give is put them on and wear them as often as you can before the event , practice makes perfect, can i inquire what size and height they are as this may hinder your progress somewhat if you are new too high heels.

Thanks i am not new to heels but have not worn the ultra high ones before. My normal height is 4 or maybe 5 inch ones. My christmas ones are 6 inch and really are a stuggle for me to walk normally in. I am size 3. All i want to do is manage them without falling flat on my face! Ciara

Don't wear them out!! You are not ready yet, unless you are going to be sitting all the time I would wait until you can walk around the house with out a problem.

WOW ! they are very high for your size, that why i asked, and can only echo the advice already given , don't go in them unless you have practised a lot , you don't want too hurt yourself ,your heels or your pride! Have fun ,with practice you will get there.

Ciara, it takes time and patience. I know that is not what you want to hear but it is the truth. There is no shortcut. As the height increases the required time increases too. Ultra heels are a real commitment, you will have to "work up" to them by wearing some intermediate heels of progressively greater height. If you are struggling in these heels, you are not ready for them -- and if you "push it" you are in for a miserable experience.

Have a happy time!

i didnt think u could get that high in sich a small size??

i saw some 4 1/4 heels in size 3 on ebay and they look like the same arch of a 6 inch heel on my 8/9 foot

UK size 3 would be a U.S. size 5.

I'll second that Derf, size 3 uk is small, my gf is a 5 and she struggles in 4" a 6" heel is very very high ,i think Peachy has some and wears them regularly though. Wonder how her shop is going in Bristol, not had time too go there yet,

Thanks for all the advice. I think I really need to practice a bit more before I feel confident wearing them anywhere. I can walk ok but I think it has to be perfect.

the part I underlined.. that is what my lady always says and i miss out on seeing her in heels. she's a great heeler in my opinion.. many feel the same way. however.. she doens't practice that much because she feels she's not perfect enough in ability to practice, let alone go higher.. however. i'm not upset about it.. i'm thrilled she does what she already does at pretty nice height.

but i digress.

take your time practicing.. you'll be just fine! you'll make it.. sounds like you're one of the few who have the gift of heeling... by that.. i mean... you can rapidly climb up the heel height. just pace yourself.. don't push so hard to be really sore.. but build up over time.

and from a man's point of view. if you can walk well.. you don't have to be perfect.. only time makes perfection.. you have to be comfy with it so you can walk about the whole level of the date you'll need to walk without fear of over tiring or falling.

good luck.. can't wait to hear your progress.

Goodness me babe!! I'm a Size 4.5/5 - and I have trouble in 6" heels - even after 20 odd years of stiletto-heeling!!

The secret - is don't be in a rush. If it comes to the night - and you are still uncomfortable - just be honest and say you'd rather go out in a pair of 5-inchers. 6" heels take a LOT of getting used to - they affect your arches (even sitting down), your ankles, calves and lower back - and need one heck of a lot of practice to walk in safely.

Like so.....

Better you both have a bit of patience - than you trip and have a nasty fall and end up a paTIENT!!

great pics PiB.. i love seeing them!!!! great advice too.. better be patient than being one. and yes.. 3UK or5US is rather small for 6 inchers.. it's like the equivalient of 7 inch for larger sizes.. so i've been told.. but those who do it.. are mighty brave!!!! RPM p.s. my lady is toying a bit more with her 5 inchers.. not yet ready for the streets yet, but i love seeing her try and she is noticing :fine::D:wink:

Allow me to say some true words too, Ciara. First of all I´d like to thank pussyinboots for the post! especially in high heel boards like this one sees lots of postings with statements about wearing abilities of heels over 5,5 inch - and I am pretty sure now that AT LEAST 90% (!!!!) of these statements are NOT true! Cuz since commercialising my site due to ability of walking ultra high heels I´ve met and spoken lots of people (and half of them making statements like mentioned above) and the most cannot walk in heels over 5,5 inches elegantly even if having shoesize as me (UK 7) or larger and even after YEARS of *training*. Even if you will be able to walk in these, that height is ALWAYS a problem for your ankles, joints etc and it is never easy even if you are less sensible for that. Some people can walk quite elegantly in these but for the most it would mean danger of becoming a cripple. It is quite seldom mentioned in high-heel board stories because (as mentioned above) the most, who write this haven´t really worn these heels *for hours* as they want to make believe us or would like to believe themselves! the second problem is that people entertaining commercial sites either do not dare to say true beeing afraid to loose their customers. It would not be as bad but thats the reason why people tend to have unrealistic aims about that! So what your boyfriend wants from you is simply irresponsible and crazy. If it is your own decision, thats your problem but you would not force it at least then and you probably might be more careful and honest (at least to yourself) while trying to achieve this ability. I do not know how old you are but reading your posts I´d say it won´t ever be as easy for you. Somehow there has developped a kind of unreal competition about heels heights. In my opinion it is dangerous. I do not understand why people are going to compare things which are not comparable. Is an elegant shoe and matching appearance not more important than if a heel has 6 or 6,2 inches of height or if one has worn it for 2 or for 4 hours??!? It would not be as bad if people reading this would not start thinking, wearing 6 inch heels is simply a question of training or if would not seem like so many are really wearing these as an everyday shoe. One more remark: normally heels over 13 cm are considered to be fetish heels as to the height. and if one is honest to himself/herself then one has to admit that a 5 inch heel is not *low* anymore especially if worn for hours- with all the consequences! may be I am *fighting against windmills* but I hope, even if not reacting here, you all who have read this would stay more realistic and honest - at least to yourselves!

I have seen Uk 3.5 size show with 5.5inch heel, at least I know that in terms of realization, it is possible. However, I can't prove if it is walkable as I can't fit into it! I wears a US women 7 size shoes and 6 inch (effective walking/standing time of only around 2hr and maximum walked range is 2.2km continously) is the maximum I can find on sale (excluding ballets) and yet, that Uk3.5 5.5incher is more extreme than that. I have even seem a 6inch with Uk size 4. Again, I can't fit into it but it look a bit too hard to walk in...a lot harder than ballet heel if you ask me! I wish I could attach a picture of that onto this post but then it isn't on the web and I don't have a URL for it.

I'm a UK 7.5 and have a self-imposed upper limit of 4.5" for sensible wear. Partly because I prefer fashion shoes to fetish, and that's where most of them top out, and partly because wearing heels out on concrete feels a heck of a lot more difficult than around the house! Anything higher than that is just for fun. Chris

I'm with Chris here, 4 - 5 " is comfy for me to wear around as i wear a UK8. Yes I have a pair of Screams, two pairs of ballets, and other extreme styles, but they are for fun. I want to enjoy my extreme heels occasionally, but not cripple myself in the process. Walking outdoors on a hard surface is hard work, but worth it evry now and again. BB2000

I love the feel of that ultimate lift!

as has been said already, don't rush. Quickest way to the A&E dept is rushing. 6" heels and size 3 feet, wow! I have some high heels but that's quite extreme. If your bf really wants you to walk in these with success, he will be patient. spend time breaking your feet into these shoes and do it slowly. don't try and be a hero and go tearing out in them just to impress him, as he won't be impressed about taking you to the hospital, and neither will a lot of people here. there are a few other techniques you can apply but all of them take time and it's not going to happen in one week, sorry, but that's how it is. I would love to be able to walk in some of my shoes and boots, but, again, it takes time. try finding a friend that can help you practice, even if only to lean on, instead of the walls

Thanks for all the advice. I am still seeing how it goes. For me they are more fun than anything - I dont ever see myself walking that far in them. I can walk though and if I get the confidence a trip out could happen. They are very fetish but I actually really like that and my bf loves it. Ciara

I agree..... in-reality , how-often DO you see woman, in-public, wearing heels over 5" in height?

BERNADETTE wears size 7 US, and walked fairly-well in 5" heels EVERYWHERE in-public (car-show, movies, ball-game, dinner, race-track, etc. ) until injuring her leg a few years ago at-work (non heel-related..... a fridge fell on her while wearing steel-toed boots ), and even-then, it depended-upon how the shoe was made, padding in the soles, heel-placement, etc.

Here is a picture of her, reclining in her LESLIES #7114 heels, with a 5.25" heel:

Posted Image

Next, these are her Hot Pink ELLIE 6" CFMPs (picture taken as the sun went down, which explains poor quality ):

Posted Image

While each picture session was less than 50' from our car, in NEITHER example was she capable of wearing these heels to/from the car, and she had been wearing heels for a few years, and had been a heel-wearing woman in her teens and early-20s during the early 1970s.

These pair of dis-continued ankle-clasp pumps have a 5" heel, and she could wear them effortlessly (but we each HATE the extra-wide/extar-ugly ankle-strap, and have been trying to find a shoe-maker/cobbler who can remove them, turning them into simple 'pumps' ):

Posted Image

Basically, it is a matter of physics and/or geometry..... the higher the heel goes, the 'shorter' the shoe gets, from heel-tip to toe-tip, but 'sexiness' isn't about a specific 'heel-height' :

it is about an 'attitude' !

We hold these truths to be self-evident:

REAL Corvettes have sharply-peaked fenders and hidden head-lights;

REAL railroads had a 4-track mainline and ran on-the-advertised;

and REAL women wear high heels and short skirts as often as they can!!!!!

in all my years of watching high heeled women.. what has been said in the recent post holds true.. not many women can wear fetish heels and stand in them.. let alone walk in them. (by fetish.. i mean 5+ inch) in all my years of looking for it.. only three women in my life time have had the ability to use 5 inch for any reasonable lenght of time (mainly sitting at a special event).. and these women are close friends of my family. only one of those can do 6 inch for any length of time.. and that was years ago. she won't or can't do it now. but enough said.. i'm just repeating everythin i've read before. just really be careful.. and do it for fun. and Wickets just shown a great example of fun!
