hhplace.org LOGO

Recommended Posts

This is nice but I am inclined to agree with hoverfly, it does scream "FETISH" and doesnt say anything about hhplace?

Its also still a picture and doesnt come across as a logo...

Like if BT just had a picture of a telephone instead of a logo..

I quite like BT's old logo of the trumpeter...

Just my opinion of course

I think this image is fethishy because of the height of the heels. Those are very high -- higher than most women wear and certainly higher than the vast majority of guys wear in public. I like the idea of associating a high heel with both genders but I would like to see somethinng a little bit more conservative.

Have a happy time!

First we need to find some one who will put our thoughts into actual pixels.

Guest ilovepumps!

Unless you go for plaint text for a logo, I dont see how without adding a picture of some sort of heel into the logo will represent a 'high heel' forum. Also, because you dont want to be gender specific and you say stiletto is too feminine, I would suggest a 'wedge' heel for a logo. Both male and female can wear them and they are not too masculine or feminine. Just a suggestion.

hi, hope i'm not out of place giving my two-penn'orth here as a brand new member. just thought i'd give a quick opinion as somebody who has a *little* experience of graphic and web design. logos and design are very subjective so you'll never please everyone, but with the size constraints you have i think you need to stick to something pretty graphically simple. trouble is i guess the logo needs to include a recognisable high heeled shoe, which is (almost) as high as wide, but the logo needs to be considerably wider than it is high. Pretty difficult then to include e.g. silhouettes of full figures wearing heels (as someone said above, you'd never really notice the heel). Also leaves you with a bunch of horizontal space to fill. you already have a strong colour scheme for the site so at least that's not a problem. personally i would stick to a simple silhouette or near-silhouette of a high-heel shoe (heel to the left, toe to the right), followed by the words "hhplace.org" (and include the .org so that people know exactly where to find you)...if the width of the graphic is reasonably flexible and the height allows, include a short strap line underneath describing what the site is in a few words. i feel like i may be missing the nuances / sensitivites around referring to men/women wearing heels, but i'm not sure how that can all be reflected and resolved in a single graphic. personally i would use the silhouette of a not-too-extreme stilleto court shoe, it's classic, instantly recognisable, eye-catching. why complicate things further? anyway just my thoughts to use, abuse or ignore as you wish. Hi Maxine Welcome to the website, your not out of place, you have as much say as everybody else on the input of the website so I appreciate your taking the time to offer up your thoughts... Size wise, it doesnt really matter if its square, round, rectangle shaped etc, as long as its clear and is a logo, rather than just a photo with some words written over it, which in my book doesn't constitute a logo.. If you have any idea's, concepts or efforts you would like to share then please do give it a go and see what happens, maybe we might end up with something from everybodies efforts that we can combine into 1 logo? Thanks..

Hey Maxine -- new member or no -- your thoughts and opinions count as much as anybody's. Your graphics experience shows, you have some good ideas.

Have a happy time!

my thoughts on bigj3650's logo:- it's certainly a step in the right direction (please 'scuse the pun!) it seems a bit too feminine though, with a 'strappy sandals' theme. could it be masculinised (or de-feminised) a bit somehow?

Always High-Heel Responsibly

Here is my 2 cents.

What I like to see is a group of people in a black and white silhouettes

shades with not to much detail representing male and female in heels of many stiles, ethnic groups single, coupples ect. I am thinking with one foot forward of each person in heels in detail. Some kind of NYC back ground, representing actually reality public display web sight, not a TV, TG, or porn thing. Some dressy and elegant, some average every day clothing. This logo should represent and invite both genders to the board with the hhplace.org under the footwear. I think it needs to encourage average people so it can't be two flashy in clothing more every day.

As I said in the past this I think above would represents the best of the board and should be designed around that.

only problem with that hoveryfly is you cant get full figured black and white figures in a space that small that would look good as a logo...hence the shoes on their own...because its obvious what they are ...or even ...actyally i have a spin on this... hold on

I am not aware that we are limited to a certain size, I am not saying it has to be a big logo but it should be expressive as much as passable.

but we are trying to keep it simple. because a logo with too many pictures in it offen dont work... and as a web designer im saying that it cant be too big and that im planing on TRYING to keep the size as 150pixels high by max of 900 pixels long

erm, dude, 900px long is wider then this website and doesnt comply to accessability standards for visually impaired people who may still be using 800x600 screen res...

Plus of course, if its 125x900, its not a logo, it becomes a banner...

there are very few people who are on 800x600 everyone has found 1024x768 alot more friendly and most computers built come automatically in 1024x768 or larger @hoverfly there would always be size restrictions we cant expect a logo that is 1024x768 in size... because its just not practical...plus most logos are only small and to the point...hence my logo...small and too the point...altho i am trying to find a better pair of shoes....because all i have are stilettos...altho not in my collection...but i do have an idea .....i think.....or maybe not but i'll have a think and get back to you.

Cowboy boots with a reasonably high heels would work if you can find them. Should cover the male aspect well enough.

Soooo totally true..... I only know a handful who use 800 x 600 but those people are somewhat partially sighted or simply dont have great vision...

One of the other things to also consider too, is that while 1024 x 768 is probably the most commonly used screen resolution, I have had loads of feedback from customers when asked that many of them like 1024 x 768 because it now means they can browse the web and have their favourites open at the same time...

Just a though...

My concern with this is we don't want the creation of a logo to be another heels4men.org problem excluding women from membership.

heels4men.org is not excluding women from membership at all....

The logo, despite being blue doesnt represent any gender specifically although the blue surround does give it a male touch....

Its early days and women are welcome to join if they please...

^ I should clarify that I was referring to when the forum changed hands from Jeff to you back in Sept/Oct. Originally, the URL switched to heels4men.org...thats all...not saying anything about the current heels4men.org site

Now we are getting some where! Is there some where where you can improve on the silhouettes, a bit bigger more detail on the foot wear?
