HellOnHeels
Hoverfly, Thank you for your thoughtful input. I see where you are going but doesn't WWW, as in World Wide Web, cover the global reach of this forum? I tend to think of all websites as global by default. I prefer clean and simple logos. Think Nike, Intel, Apple etc. I think our logo needs to convey more relevant info than the examples I cited but should remain clean and simple. From a technical standpoint it is very difficult to preserve fine detail in a small web logo. In order to incorporate the globe the silhouettes need to be shrunk so that the shoes and especially the heels do not get obscured by the globe. I am trying hard to make the heels on the shoes stand out since that is the whole point of this forum. The best way I can think of doing that is to not have anything around them competing for attention.

For the technical savvy, yes they will know www. as World Wide Web. The globe represent a common multinational intrest. The lines can be more faint then the silhouettes, the globe should not dominate. I am thinking a illusion just enough to trick the mind thinking it's looking like a globe. The line could also be a lighter, thinner (if that can happen) not touching the silhouettes, fewer latitude and longitudes lines. HH place logo could be on the in side as well making the globe bigerAt this point I would not add any more. By the way my GF says it very 80's, like a NOW rally symbol. (National Organization for Women). That's before adding the globe. Hello,  my name is Hoverfly. I’m a high heel addict…. Weeeeeeeeeee!  👠1998 to 2022! bigj3650
yea but adding the globe behind the logo as it stands now you will be making it kind of a NOW rally symbol... because of the imagery.. not to say your idea is bad or anything hover but i think we need a clean and professional logo and the one that hell done is exactally that... and its very in keeping with the forum as a whole. thats my 2 pence J
hoverfly
It's not like we have a dead line, we need more ideas though. How about using a city skyline instead of a globe then and instead of wrapping the address lay it under? Hello,  my name is Hoverfly. I’m a high heel addict…. Weeeeeeeeeee!  👠1998 to 2022! I do not think that you know that the NOW symbol looks like. It is much like the HHPlace logo with out the people. As for the WWW all that stands for is world wide web, a location in a computer, an IP address.

kneehighs
Well, its been a month since this thread has had any activity. This thread fell flat on its face when the alternative logo with latitude and longitude lines was suggested. As opposed to the above logo, which received positive replies within days, the latitude/longitude logo received little positive response. Additionally, my opinion is that the above logo looks nothing like the NOW organizations logo: They may both be circular, but that's it. Further, the NOW logo is a great example of too much detail being lost during resizing, which is another reason why the simple logo would serve our interests better. Why don't we just grab the bull by the horns and make the simpler of the two logos a reality. Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game. hoverfly
Put it up on a new thread and poll it. Lets see what is the general responce is, mabye we will get some other ideas or approvel. kneehighs
Why would I start a poll on something I've already made my mind up on? People have had over two months to create ideas. Quit making excuses and do it yourself--if you want a poll so bad. Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game.
Tech
Hoverfly: You suggested the poll in the first place, now enough with the rudeness, theres no need for that, either start your poll and be done with it or dont! Kneehighs: Dont join in and antagonise him, theres really no need for that! (Blimey, is this what its like to have kids too???) JNR
There isn't a thing wrong with the desing kneehighs developed. I think enough time has elapsed without any further meaningful discussion. I believe it's time it began to be used.
Tech
ok, so I've implemented kneehighs logo, lets hear some feedback.... Personally I think its too large as it pushes everything down the page by quite a bit. Should I make it smaller? kneehighs
Holy Smokes! You did it! HellOnHeels drew up the logo...all I did was envision it in my minds eye... Perhaps making it smaller wouldn't hurt though...just my opinion. That LOGO will be going places beyond its mere presence here at hhplace.org...especially in the years to come as the Annual World Heel Meet will grow beyond our expectations. Is there a way to creat an online button for hyperlinks back to hhplace using the logo? Feminine Style . Masculine Soul. Skin In The Game.

Tech
Is there a way to creat an online button for hyperlinks back to hhplace using the logo? Yep, just use this code... <a href="http://www.hhplace.org"><img src="http://www.hhplace.org/images/logo.gif" alt="The High Heel Meeting Place" width="134" height="120" border="0" longdesc="http://www.hhplace.org"></a> The above code will hotlink the logo which use's more bandwidth from this website so if possible, upload the logo somewhere else and just change the link to the image which is this part: <img src="INSERT THE URL TO THE IMAGE BETWEEN THE " MARKS" I hope that makes sense? CraigR
I do like the logo. Simple to understand and simple design. Thank you Kneehighs (for the idea) and HellOnHeels (for the actual design).
JeffB
Regarding the HHPlace logo, color me impressed! I like it! I like it a lot! Bravo! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
at9
Design is excellent. It does push stuff down the page so maybe a just a touch smaller? Possibly also bring the headline "HHplace the HH community" down a bit so that it runs along the centre line of the logo. At the moment there's a bit of a blank space that doesn't quite look right. Why not use the logo twice. At the left and the right. Alternatively put the logo in the middle and split and split the headline each side of it. ShockQueen
I'd say place the logo on the left side of the page, and then put "High Heel Place - The High Heel Community centered vertically next to it, so it flows better in my opinion. You could even do something with the text itself so it melds better. I'll tinker a bit in Photoshop and see if something comes out of it. Elegant
I like the idea very much, but I think the gap between the logo and text should be a bit wider. What is good for a goose, can be good for any gender!
